FREYA'S POV:
The next time I open my eyes, I realize that I'm already in a totally different location, on a bed that isn't mine, in an environment completely unrecognisable.
So, my first instinct is to jump right up and go on defence.
The throbbing pain on the back of my head and on my lower back stops the abrupt movement, forcing me to lay back onto the bed forcefully.
I groan in pain once it hits like a brick, crashing into my skull and like a metal bar, smashing the bones of my lower back.
For the meantime, I'm crippled - not in the sense of being unable to work but in the sense of not being able to make large movements and escape while I'm in this state.
I clutch my throbbing head and feel the thick layers of bandages wrapped around as some sort of treatment for my injury, and on looking at my hands, every cut is plastered neatly with cute band aids, having heart shaped stickers.
My eyes finally move to my surroundings as well.
I'm on a queen sized canopy bed with black drapes and grey coloured sheets. The room I'm in is twice the size of the dorm room I had shared with Xena with tall pastel green walls.
A sofa on the site with antique furniture, putting the aesthetic all together.
The entire room screams money and its most definitely not a prison cell but then, where the hell am I?
The hopeful side of me guessed Silas.
Maybe he had found me and brought me back to his place. Maybe he wasn't mad any more and wanted to patch things up.
It's a long shot but I desperately hoped that he would suddenly run in through those doors and engulf me in the tightest hug ever.
So, when I hear footsteps approaching, my heart rate peaks and I look towards the tall double doors expectantly as they suddenly are pushed in.
"Freya!" Xena screams frantically just as she spots me running up to the bedside.
My heart drops into the bottom of my chest just like that.
"How are you feeling?" she asks, looking down at me with so much worry that I begin feeling guilty for expecting someone else and being disappointed that it was her.
Now that I remember, Xena had been the one to find me and then, there was that accident before I passed out.
All in all, she knew my secret now.
She knows I'm an Omega wolf.
What does she think of me now? Has she reported me to authorities? Is she stalling for time before they come and get me?
"Freya? Are you okay? Can you hear me? Oh my gosh, did you lose your hearing?" She grows even more frantic, squeezing a bit too tight on my bruised arm with tears forming in her eyes.
She seemed too genuine to fake her reactions though. How could I have ever thought she would rat me out?
Xena would never betray me, ever.
Maybe this is her final act as friends before she lets me go.
"Where am I?" I ask finally, though my voice comes out dry and parched.
I try to sit up again but this time, she rushes up, helping me. She puts one of the several pillows behind me to support my back.
"You're in one of my dad's vacation houses deep in the woods, close to pack borders and a good distance away from school... and don't worry, no one knows you're here aside from a few of the house helps, but they know how to keep secrets." She explains, sitting right next to me again and taking my hand in hers.
I nod slowly, taking in every information. "Okay, thank you. I'll be out of your hair once I figure out my next move and recover from a few bruises." I say firmly.
I'm grateful for the help she's offered and I wish there's a way I could repay her for everything but with my status, there wasn't anything besides working as a help and that just isn't as low as I'm willing to go.
"What are you talking about? Who's stuck in whose hair?" She looks at me, partially confused and offended.
"Xena, I understand how this works, okay? You find out I'm an omega and I've been an imposter this whole time, which also makes me a criminal, and you realize we can't be friends any more and we say our goodbyes. I'm perfectly fine with it but I just need a place to stay before I can be on my feet again."
I explain things clearly for her.
Instead of being understanding, her eyebrows shoot higher than they had initially been.
"That's not what's happening here. You're injured! Where the fuck are you going to in this state? I'm sure your home is a good distance away."
"I can't go home." I simply point out.
Home is the last place I can go.
"Why?"
"Because they don't want me there!" I say without even thinking.
My hard shell begins cracking, just like that.
I try to be strong and tough but everything is so much harder with Silas gone and no chance of ever seeing him again.
With my entire life ruined, I don't see the point of trying to hide anything any more. I have no more zeal or motivation to keep kicking like before.
"Freya..." She says, moving closer to me. Her confusion is replaced with remorse and pity.
"I have no one any more. My family doesn't care about what happens to me and now, I have no school to return to... and Silas... hates me. I'm all alone, I have no one." I burst into uncontrollable tears, sniffling, recalling the last moments with Silas.
Xena wastes no time pulling me into a tight warm hug, and I hug her back.
It's bone crushing, my every aching part of my body feeling the tight squeeze but I don't care.
I lean more into the hug, needing it now more than ever.
"You're not alone, Freya... I swear, you aren't; you have me... and Lucas too, and I'm definitely sure Silas doesn't hate you."
"How are you sure?"
"Silas is a lot of things, and confused is most of these things. Even though he tries not to show it, I know just how much he really cares about you, Freya. He's not an ass that would let you go for something as stupid as you being an omega... and even if he does, it's his loss because Alpha or not, you're amazing and I wouldn't give you up for anything in the world."
"Why aren't you angry... I lied to you, half of our relationship must feel like a lie."
"Don't get me wrong, I am angry. I was angry and confused when the omega I had been chasing that night while looking for you turned out to be my best friend. I felt betrayed, but you were injured and it was my fault, so I couldn't think of anything else other than getting you help."
"It wasn't your fault... if I had come clean earlier, you would have known at the time. If I had come clean about everything, none of this would have happened."
"True, but there's no use crying over spilt milk. Most of my anger has subsided while you were unconscious. Are there anymore secrets I must know though?"
I take a moment before I respond. Everything I'm about to say will all sound highly unbelievable but I risk it all, wanting to be honest now that I've been given the opportunity.
"I made a deal with a wizard that gave me the potion to become an Alpha." I say in one breath before looking up to gauge her reaction. Surprisingly, she looks calm, plainly nodding her head and deep in her thoughts while she processes the information.
She looks me plai dding her head.
"I see, there's a wizard in this story. It sort of explains how you were able to be an Alpha even though you aren't... Makes a good story..." She muses mostly to herself, like it's unbelievable but explains a lot.
I take another deep breath for the next reveal and exhale.
"Silas is my mate." I say just as fast as before.
This time, she looks up at me dumbfounded and speechless. I nod my head, confirming every crazy thought swirling inside there that is written all over her face.
Her reaction is the same as mine.
The Alpha prince of Bloodmoon pack is mated to an Omega girl.
Xena lays right next to me, unable to comprehend everything while sitting half-assed. "Well, this is going to be interesting."
