                    FREYA'S POV:
The beating organ in my chest pulses at an abnormal rate to a faster rhythm.
My wolf howls within me, urging me to let it all go and take his hand, risk it all and follow him him in.
and let
My cautious nature takes over and I hesitate again.
"Don't tell me you're going to leave me hanging." He's so smug and prideful, yet there's something that draws me to him that I can't seem to understand.
It should appall me but I find it intriguing.
I stretch out my hand to his but then wary, I pull it back.
"How am I sure you're not trying to kidnap me and sell my organs to some shady organization?" I'm speaking gibberish now.
Maybe it's to hide my fear or whatever it is inside me.
He laughs out, not expecting my answer.
"I'm sure you have beautiful organs but right now, I'm interested in the completely whole Freya."
It's stupid but I laugh, despite the coldness on the tips of my fingers from my anxiety.
"Just give me a chance, we'll be back before your friend gets out of the bathroom."
"Where would we go?"
"Just trust me.
He stretches his hand out again. His strong large hands remain open to me.
I sigh, closing my eyes and taking hold of it quickly before I talk myself out of it. I don't know what the hell I'm doing but who cares, right?
YOLO.
The warmth of his skin on mine spreads up my arm and I can't help but let out a little gasp from the sensation of our touching skin.
He suddenly pulls me so close to him, too close that I feel his breath on mine.
"Don't make me regret this, Silas." I fight to steady my foggy mind.
He's looking down on me with so much intensity in his eyes.
"Just trust me," he whispers.
"Fine."
He suddenly grips onto me, tightly wrapping his arm around my waist. I try to ignore what it's doing to me.
"How are we going to get down? We're at least 20 feet above the ground."
"Same way I came up."
Before I question his ominous words, we're leaping off the balcony.
I bite onto my lips hard, screaming internally. I can't risk being caught with him so late at night and springing up more rumors.
We land with enough grace and he lets me down on my feet. I'm a bit dizzy and shaken by the sudden jump but balance myself.
"Are you okay?" He asks while I breathe faster than usual and I glare at him.
"Warn me next time at least."
He chuckles at me again and waits for me to gain a bit of composure.
"What's next?" I ask
"Next, you hold on tight."
I don't understand his words at first but then his silver eyes change into a bright golden hue.
"Turn around."
I turn and he takes off his clothes behind me and morphs into his wolf.
His wolf nudges me and I turn, facing the large beast almost my height whilst standing on its four legs.
Its luxurious, jet black, silky fur is just gorgeous and I want to touch it so badly.
His wolf is the biggest I've ever seen and even though it's the second time, I'm still in awe.
He sniffs me a bit, then cuddles up to me. Its thick fur is soft and I rub against it while it remains so docile. I realize how much I prefer this wolf to the actual Silas. He bends a bit, gesturing for me to get onto his back.
I grab Silas' clothes and jump onto his back, gripping tightly onto his fur and then he leaps forward into the night with great speed.
The wind ripples in my hair, tossing it behind me. I feel alive as we swoop fast into the thick woods surrounding our school.
We go faster and faster; it feels as though I'm the one running free under the radiance of the moon.
We move deeper into the woods, emerging at the edge of a small cliff with a bit of clearing.
He stops and tilts low enough for me to get down. I rub his massive soft fur one more time before handing him the clothes and watching him hide in the woods.
Not wanting to have a glimpse of a naked Silas, I turn round and take in the view around me. The vast sky is lit with a billion twinkling lights.
It's breathtaking and leaves me lost for words. It's like a stunning painting, one of its kind that can never be replicated. I feel as though I can stare at it all forever and never grow tired of it.
I hear the rustling of shrubs behind me and Silas steps out fully dressed.
"It's beautiful." I sound like an excited child but I'm unbothered by that right now.
"It is, isn't it?" He smiles standing next to me. "It's one of those rare sites that give us a glimpse at just how beautiful nature is." He stares up at the sky the same way I had.
I can see genuine interest glimmering in his eyes.
More and more, I find myself discovering pieces of him that make me second guess my initial judgment. "Honestly, I would never have pinned you as someone who likes things like this. You seem more of the terminator power craving persona than a nature enthusiast."
"Thank you?" He seems more confused than grateful
"You're welcome." I take the thanks anyway. "So, you brought me here to see this?"
"Well, something like that. I figured a new scenery would be nice."
"Thank you."
Whatever his reason is, I'm grateful for the distraction. It's something I didn't know I needed; a brief get away from school entirely.
We stand in silence, just watching the big beautiful sky. I don't mind it. I take in the cool night air into my nostrils and exhale.
Nature itself is like an elixir that washes away every bad thought and emotion. I know its effect is only for the moment but I drown myself in it's peace nonetheless.
"How do you feel?"
I turn to look at him, at first not understanding why he's asking. I feel perfectly fine right now, but as I stare into his glowing silver eyes, I understand what he means.
He's asking based on what had happened in school earlier. I wonder how long they would worry about me.
"You forget that I'm a tough girl and can't be easily broken."
"Yeah, you're the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of the female wolf." He teases.
I hit him with my elbow in the rib. He laughs at my weak attack for a while. I pout playfully, pretending to be offended by it. After a while, he ceases. "But seriously, you good?" He asks more seriously.
"I'm better. Honestly, I won't be totally fine. I mean, I embarrassed myself in front of everyone at school today. I'm probably going to be laughed at for a long while."
"Want me to take care of anyone that ridicules you?"
I chuckle now at his joke, finding the gesture cute but his facial expression remains curt. "Oh wait, you're not joking?"
"Just don't listen to what anyone has to say. If they bother you, let me know."
I find his concern to be charming and sweet. "How very odd of you Silas. You're really worrying about me, aren't you?" It's a joke again and I nudge him playfully, trying to get a reaction from him but he's unmovable.
"How can I not worry, Freya, with you falling into trouble the moment I look away?" His face remains serious.
"Uh, isn't that part your fault? You're the one that chose me to be your partner." I point out the truth.
"Had I known about your situation earlier, I wouldn't have."
I want to be touched by the statement but I'm not. What's done is done.
"Well, it's not like I trust you enough to tell you an intimate secret like that." I turn the other way, getting annoyed.
It's not my fault things keep happening to me, if anything it's always when I'm around him. He draws bad luck to me, like flies to a flame.
Even if I could tell anyone my secret, it wouldn't be him of all people
He sighs beside me.
"You're right about that, I guess. You had a right to keep it to yourself..."
I feel a tiny shred of guilt wrap around my chest with the way he quickly accepts his fault and I wonder, perhaps, if I'm being a bit too harsh on him.
He's gone out of his way to make me feel better twice already but I'm stuck on being a bitch to him. "...that's why I want to know more secrets about you." He continues.
Now, I turn to face him again. I don't know why I did it, probably because I hadn't expected him to say those words or maybe I want to see his expression as he says them to know if he had truly meant it.
He looks at me with honesty or what I hope is honesty. The look in his eyes, something about it unravels me in the most primal way, leaving me speechless, my thoughts in a mess.
It's dangerous yet I find myself wanting those captivating eyes to never look away. It frightens me to my core and I panic. "My real name is Harry and I come from a hidden world known as Hogwarts. My grandmother is Gandalf." I sound stupid, I'm so stupid. The fumbling words leave my mouth before I can control them. I expect confusion from him, or maybe he'd look at me like I am some weirdo, but...he laughs.
He laughs out freely. The laughter stems deep from within him, rich with real cheerfulness.
As always, I'm entranced by it. The wind picks up the sound fast, playing it in the air.
A small tear drips from his left eye. I don't know when I raise my hand and catch it before it slides too far down his cheeks.
My gesture distracts him from his laughter and he's looking at me again with a content smile and tucks a wild strand of hair behind my ears.
"You drive me crazy." He mutters to himself with something foreign in his eyes.
So do you.
