                    : CAT FIGHT
FREYA'S POV:
The brief encounter with Adam is enough to make the rest of my day less of a dread and brighter...just a tad bit, and it feels much worse when he leaves finally.
The silence is enough to trigger my thoughts again. I'm more than relieved once the final bell rings and the last class for the day dismisses.
I grab my homework and a few textbooks in my bag and walk straight to the female dormitory with plans of crashing onto my bed and drifting into a deep sleep - anything to lose consciousness for a while.
If it's possible, I would sleep for months, or sleep my way till all this was over.
I mostly pride myself on being too tough to crack under pressure yet here I am, looking for an easy way out.
I push the doors into the familiar tall, brick building with it's architecture similar to a mini castle which was still pretty big, and move over to the grand stairwell, making my way to my room floor.
Flamboyant giggling up ahead becomes very apparent and I choose to ignore it, focusing on where I'm heading too.
The noise only gets louder and the annoying chirp of that laughter begins to sound too painfully familiar for my liking.
Before I can decide to ignore or just keep walking, she rounds in from a corner to the path I'm taking and the three of us pause; Elena, Lila, and myself.
The two girls look wide-eyed at first, then their expression changes to disgust. I can already know what's going on in their heads.
They're probably shocked that I still go here, thinking I would have left after a week at the program.
Too bad, sweetheart, you'd have to do much more to get rid of me.
They glare daggers at me but I really don't care right now, so I keep walking straight ahead like they don't exist.
Sadly, they're not satisfied with my lack of response, and Lila steps in my way, folding her hands below her chest.
"Well, well, well. Look who it is." Elena begins from my side, attempting to start a fight as always.
Typical of her.
I sigh, too exhausted for her games right now.
"Oh my, Freya, I didn't know you still go to school here. Haven't seen you in a long while." Lila adds with a fake sweet tone in her voice.
"Maybe that's because of your suspension. Surprised they still let you in here after you tried killing me."
"Don't you think you took that joke too extreme? I mean, it was just an innocent prank. You know, friends just being friends. Good thing the school board understood the situation well enough."
A prank?
It takes a lot in me not to jump on her and scratch out at least one of her eyes before security can pull us apart, but I don't.
She should have been expelled and yet, she was given a light suspension for almost killing me.
I was sure Elena and her connections had a lot to play in this.
"Don't be too upset, Lila. Our ex-roomie here tends to take things too literal sometimes, but I understand." Elena says, coming up to my face.
She smirks evilly at me while I glare at her.
"Her sense of humor is wired differently. Just like how she tried to steal my place in school and my boyfriend's heart. It was a sick joke, but I played along well."
They're taunting me now, trying to rub how powerless I am in my face.
"I guess running like a little pup with your tail between your legs to King Darius is part of playing along, right?" I bite back.
"It's not my fault he adores me so much. I saw he had a little chat with you. I hope he wasn't too hard on you." She smiles deviously at me.
I scoff at her poorly portrayed concern. She loves every moment of my frustration.
"I guess being betrothed to someone who lacks the slightest interest in you is also part of this big joke, huh?"
Her false smile falls instantly, replaced with a glare. Looks like I hit her where it hurts.
"Look here, bitch. Nothing makes you special, you're like the rest of the girls he plays around with and when he's done, he's going to throw you out like the trash you are."
"I'm not special, yet you had to rat me to the Alpha King to get me out of your way. Seems like I'm some kind of big threat, doesn't it?"
She scoffs.
"You wish." Lila comments from the side.
"You know what the real joke is here? You and your little sidekick over here, prancing around like be- dazzled donkeys auditioning for Legally blonde." I snap back, taking a step towards her this time
"... you think you're a ten but you're a pretty faced bimbo with the common sense of an ostrich. You're the reason the middle finger was created."
"Are you done?"
"Oh, sweetheart, I haven't even started." I pass her a sickenly sweet smile.
"Acting tough won't get you anywhere, Freya. If anything, you'll only get on my nerves more, and I'd be forced to react."
"Ooooh, I'm so scared." I feign fear.
"Well, you should be."
"And you should be somewhere jumping in front of a bullet, yet here you are. Guess we can't have everything."
"Your current mood is understandable, after all the only thing an abandoned dog can do is bark"
"What?" I glare.
"You must be dying in pain knowing that he's finally forgotten about a good-for-nothing slut like you." For the first time since our squabble, I remain silent, staring at her annoying face, gleaming in satisfaction. She thinks she's won now.
I nod, turning around to take a few steps away like
I'm pacing. I turn to her again.
Before anyone can think it, I run up to her a little, lifting myself up the air with one leg and smacking her in the face with the other.
She crashes against the wall behind her, sliding to the floor. Lilia screams, running to her side.
"I should thank you. I've been looking for an outlet for all this pent-up frustration." I talk breathlessly. The kick took a lot from me and two of my toes are definitely bruised but I stand tall and confident. Elena looks up at me with pure rage, gnashing her teeth. "You bitch!" She rushes to me and the brawl begins.
She sends me flying to the wall first and before I can regain composure, she's slapping me square in the face, her wolf obviously on it's surface.
I tug onto her shiny blonde hair and tug with as much strength my puny hands can muster but then, Lila pulls me away from her, tossing me aside. "You're going to pay for that."
The two girls tower above me now. I'm surrounded by two more powerful women which is bad, but I don't back down, not without a fight atleast.
They move to me quickly and I brace for sudden impact.
"What the fuck?"
We pause, turning to the new intruder and my heart sings once Xena shows up unexpectedly. Her widened eyes accesses the situation, quickly moving from Elena and her goon, and back to me.
Our evidently tussled hair and bruised faces say a lot about what's going on.
Her bewildered gaze soon changes to a pissed look that takes over her entire expression.
"Oh, hell no."
In seconds, she tosses her school bag aside and takes off her jacket whilst cracking her knuckles and joints. Then she makes her way over to us.
