                    : MONDAY
FREYA'S POV:
Note to self: Never eat anything Xena offers that's been made by her, or any member of her family... and extended family.
My tummy still hasn't recovered from that chicken and ugh cranberry juice.
If only Lucas had never opened his mouth to reveal its hidden secrets, I would have lived in blissful ignorance.
It was an awful picnic but a fun experience in the end, even with Lucas being there.
Luckily he seemed less hostile after and ate more of Xena's cooking than the rest of us, which made her feel better despite her grumbling.
Maybe if Lucas wasn't a blind retarded ass, he would have clicked perfectly with Xena.
But alas, he is, and she is way above him.
I've avoided mostly solid foods since Sunday due to my diarrhea.
I know I should take drugs to remedy my situation but I'm too lazy to go to the nurse's office, and I'm sure my body can shake it off in no time.
My decision has left me feeling weaker and a tad bit light-headed, but I will survive.
I have no choice, but to.
It's a Monday and classes roll by at a typically slow pace. It's a Monday after all...
There's a reason it's the most heated day of the week.
The first two classes have been Silas free, which I am grateful for.
I just have this inkling that if I see Silas again, I would be back in that mood or worse, freeze in place.
My hands would get sweaty.
It's a new and weird reaction to Silas, but a lot of things are feeling new these days.
The next period I have is free, so of course, I plan to spend it in the library, studying for a series of tests coming up soon before the holiday in a few weeks' time.
It's like a midterm break, allowing students to return home and spend time with family for a while.
I already know why I'm not looking forward to that.
I take out my large wolf biology text book I like to call the bible of life.
It takes two hands to hold it while I use my face to shut my locker.
His face suddenly pops up at the other side once I successfully slam it shut.
I'm startled instantly, staggering back but catch myself before I fall backwards, however dropping my book in the process.
Silas catches it with one hand easily before it hits the hard tiled floor and the edges get dented.
"Oops, almost ruined your book." He comments, placing the book in my hands.
The sudden weight pulls me down.
"Thanks." I smile nervously.
My body's read to seeing him
Suddenly, I'm flustered and frantic, feeling awkward and suddenly wondering if I brushed my hair this morning.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."
"I-It's fine. No books got hurt, right?"
What the fuck am I saying?
He chuckles at my dry joke now, while I hyperventilate and balance the book properly before it slides off my sweaty hands.
"It's been a while."
"Yeah, I'm surprised you're letting me talk to you out in the open." He says.
Shit, I forgot about that.
It's like I forgot we were at school and eyes could be watching.
Luckily, most people are in class right now, so it's just the two of us.
"Well, there's no one around, so we alk. What's up?"
"Yeah, that's true. So, how have you been?"
"Uhm, good. Really good. Infact, never been better!"
I begin hyping the terrible last few days that have been nothing but horror.
From my sudden depressed episode and explosive diarrhea, making me spend more than half of my weekend in the toilet.
There was nothing fantastic about it.
But why would I agree to that?
"That's nice. I'm happy to hear that."
"Yeah, in fact, I went on a picnic with friends too. It was amazing. Had this wonderful juice that just... just gave a wonderful experience this week."
"Oh, wow. That's really nice. You're living your best life, I see."
"Exactly. YOLO, right? We gotta, you know, do our best...shit, cause we... young and... we lit."
What the fuck am I saying?
I need to shut up, but he laughs again, much lively than the first that echoes softly with gentle vibrations.
How could something sound so beautiful?
I wonder what other kind of sounds he can make...
Holy shit, Freya! Are you really sexualizing Silas right now?
Heat flushes into my cheeks, then my entire face with embarrassment now.
He pauses in laughter, watching me, probably realizing how much I resemble a peach right now.
I duck behind my heavy book immediately.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, definitely fine. All roses and peaches here."
Someone, please! Staple my mouth shut!
"Yeah, you definitely look like one right now actually.
It's cute."
He clearly isn't helping matters right now, because the heat extends to the tip of my ears and a wave of anxiety, I think, overcomes me quickly. Nerves and all that uncomfortable nonsense takes over, and I'm certain if I open my mouth, another stupid sentence would roll out.
"Silas."
My overwhelming nerves freezes just like that.
In unison, we both turn to Elena standing a good distance away with her hands folded, probably glaring our way.
What is she doing here?
He smiles at her and she waves back, signaling him to go over to her.
My chest constricts just watching the friendly exchange between them.
"Oh, you told her you had an exchange into the program?" I mumble under my breath. "What?" He turns back to me.
"Uhh, I was just saying, you know... it's obvious you hadn't told anyone you came here since Lucas keeps bugging me with where you are, but it seems you told Elena that."
"Yeah, recently." He mumbles as well. "That's... nice." I swallow a thick ball of saliva down my throat painfully, looking away from him finally." Well, I better get going. Off to the library to digest some biology. Have fun with your... mate."
I force the last words out before charging in the other direction without looking back.
My chest hurts.
I don't know if it's jealousy or just simply seeing
Elena happy unsettles my spirit.
I do know that I don't belong anywhere around that.
I walk into the library breathless from the jog here. At some point, I ran.
It's pathetic and depressing, but I just needed to get farther away.
I waste no time finding a seat in my most preferred spot, far behind the shelf of books in a concealed and quiet corner, and open up my text book. Five seconds in and I re-read the first line to understand better.
Ten seconds in and I'm not grasping anything.
A few more seconds and I give up, admitting to myself that I cannot focus.
Not to sound like a nerd but reading textbooks is one of the few things that could easily distract my mind when stressed out and now, it's not working. Just kill me right now.
I groan, dropping my head onto the pages.
Now, what am I going to do?
In very few moments that follow, I hear footsteps that grow louder as though approaching.
I look up to see the last person I hope to see in the library.
"Hey, Freya." He smiles smugly, leaning against my desk.
"Norman." I respond dryly, lacking all enthusiasm.
Hopefully, he gets the message and makes his visit brief. But this is Norman, there's no way he would. "Please, tell me you aren't here for me to help you read for the test. I'm kind of burnt out right now." I plead.
"Sadly, no."
I sigh in sweet relief.
Thank Goddess.
"I saw you run in here and decided to give you much needed company." He smirks, winking mischievously at me.
"Well, you saw wrong, Norman. I want to be alone."
I drop my dead back down onto my book, relaxing again and hoping that he leaves. But I can still hear his breathing next to me.
"You know, you don't have to keep this act up. I admit, I was resistant at first but you have finally won my attention."
His words shock me this time. I raise my head fast enough to look at him in utter disbelief.
"What?"
"I gotta hand it to you, Freya, you are absolutely addicting to watch."
He leans closer, raising my chin up with two fingers.
I recoil backwards and away from his grabby hands, glaring at him hard.
"I'm sorry. Did you hit your head somewhere?" A good question.
He chuckles now, moving a tad bit closer.
"Fine, let's play along then. I know you like me,
Freya."
Five seconds of still silence.
I'm speechless.
What exact emotion should I feel towards this idiot? I honestly don't know.
I'm torn between shock, amusement and disgust. I'm only able to stare at his prideful glimmer blankly. "What the fuck made you come into this conclusion?"
He leans closer again, almost pushing me into a corner as I'm shifting father away him. He does this till there's no more room left for me to escape, and he leans close enough to whisper.
"You, ofcourse."
