: AWKWARD REUNIONS
FREYA'S POV:
He pulls me away gently, looking down at me. It's only then I notice the pain in his eyes as he looks down on me.
Deep sadness with tiredness and lack of sleep staring back at me. I can see just how much pain he has been through because of me.
"Silas..." I reach out to caress his face, but freeze.
Flashes of an older version of him with blue eyes fill my vision instantly, and I recoil away quickly, fear suddenly gripping me tight as I hyperventilate.
"Are you okay?" He asks, looking more worried.
He looks like Silas again, but something feels weird between us now.
I want to reach out and hold him, and take in every bit of his scent I've missed in the past days but I can't - like an invisible force pulling me away.
I slowly take a step away, nodding my head.
"I-I'm fine." I mutter.
But he doesn't take it, of course.
His forehead creases further as he takes in my entire state. I bet I look disgusting right now, still clad in the same clothes for weeks with filth and scum stuck to me.
My nose is already numb to it, but I bet I smell terrible.
He rakes over me before he finally notices Lucas, and his eyes turn bright gold quickly.
Lucas remains silent and still starring back at him in full surrender and defeat in his eyes.
"You fucking bastard..." Silas says in a deep and low growl, barely inaudible.
It was big switch from the soft and tender tone he used with me only a second ago.
He stalks slowly to Lucas who suddenly goes white as a ghost, taking steps backward
"Silas... I'm-" He begins, but is cut short.
"What did I say about what would happen if you're an accomplice?"
"Silas... wait-"
"You're fucking dead."
He transforms into his wolf in less than a second, ripping through his clothes and pouncing onto Lucas who yells out in pain from the collision.
The large beast howls loudly, causing pandemonium to ensue instantly.
I scream, falling to my knees and trembling as I watch the violence unfold.
Lucas doesn't even dare fight back when the first slashing of his claw rips the flesh off his chest, scarring him for life probably.
The blood begins pouring out of him like a fountain, red thick liquid squirting everywhere.
The Lucas that had been smiling back at me seconds ago bleeds out on the floor right in front of me.
Panic takes over.
I tremble like convulsion as the memories of blood flashes across my vision blood from the beatings, and blood from the poisoning.
Memories of King Darius' laughing, his voice echoing in my head loudly and boasting about how he's going to kill me.
I scream out again, pressing down on my ears to stop the laughter but it only grows louder.
He's taunting me loud, enjoying the look of fear and horror on me.
"No, I'm free. I'm not trapped again." I mutter to myself. "Make it stop!"
I'm pounding on my head hard to stop the torture going on inside. My lungs squeeze shut as I start wheezing for air.
Black dots slowly begin taking over my vision.
"Freya..." A call that seems distant filters into my head.
But the taunting doesn't stop.
"Freya!" The voice is louder, calling out to me as my vision blurs and my already weak body begins going numb.
Silas takes a hold of me in his arms, shaking me vigorously. But when I look up, I don't see his beautiful face.
I see someone else with piecing blue eyes and a wicked smile covered in blood.
"Are you okay?" He asks with a smile.
I choke even harder, unable to speak and cry anymore due to lack of oxygen.
More tears leave my eyes as darkness engulfs my weakening body.
When I wake up again, the first thing I realize is the feeling of warmth and comfort round me.
I'm atop something soft and squishy, which kind of feels very different from what I'm used to.
I then remember the last face I had seen before passing out! King Darius.
The memory has me jumping up quickly with my eyes wide open and in full alertness.
I realize I'm on a very large soft bed, wrapped in a thick duvet in a very different place that is unrecognizable. It's neither school nor the cell room.
It's more cozy and warm with a small fire place and cozy couches right in front of a TV.
Before I can even begin questioning my new location, Silas suddenly steps out of another room, towel wrapped around his waist and a bare chest, with his hair dripping wet.
He rubs a second towel on his head attempting to dry it as well.
As he walks in, our eyes meet and he pauses.
The sight of his naked bare chest, tight with muscles and perfectly toned, has me heating up instantly from all the sex appeal oozing out of him.
I turn away once I feel heat on my face. "You're awake." He says a bit too stiffly while I try to get my beating heart to calm down.
"Y-Yeah..." I barely manage. I see he's not covered in blood like before. "Where are we?" I ask, looking at my surroundings again.
"A hotel." He answers, dropping his towel aside. "I couldn't take you to my place, and school is a good distance away." He explains further.
An awkward silence follows after.
I hear his footsteps move round the room before they stop and he shuffles with something I assume are his clothes.
It's so quiet and weird between us, and it's making me so nervous and jittery right now. I can't shake off how tense I feel, unable to relax even knowing that I'm out of there.
I guess it will take some time to get used to this.
"How are you feeling?" He asks, suddenly pulling me from my thoughts.
"Fine." I mutter.
I'd much rather not tell him what I'm actually feeling honestly. I don't want to talk about what I've been through, not for a long time.
Once I look up at him again, he's fully clothed in a loose-fitting grey shirt and basketball shorts, his damp hair slid back away from his face.
Even with clothes, he's still so attractive. I bite on my lower lip to stop myself from saying something stupid.
When has it ever been this hard to talk to him?
"Uhm... I prepared a bath for you." He says softly with a gentle smile.
I blush again, nodding my head.
"Okay."
I try to get off the bed, lifting the heavy cover off my body but muscles spasms restrict my movement.
He notices my struggling and gets to the edge quickly, picking me up in his arms with ease. The sudden action has me startled at first while I gasp, clutching onto him tightly. I'm easily jilted by the slightest movement, but I finally relax into him. He takes me into the bathroom, carefully setting me at the edge of the tub containing bath water already set out with roses floating just at the top. "Thank you." I say.
He nods, smiling charmingly, clearly at loss of words just as I am. This whole thing just feels weird.
Suddenly, being exposed to such warmth and gentleness still confuses me in a way I can't describe, but I still want him around me.
He turns to leave and fear wells up again inside me quickly. Like if he leaves, if I can't see him, he's going to disappear for another few weeks. "Wait!" I call out desperately. He stops and turns to me, watching me with soft eyes that make me feel like falling apart.
"I-I need some h-help." I mutter shyly, avoiding his eyes.
He stands there for awhile before stepping closer again. I dare not look at him, not knowing how to react.
His large hands slowly reach out and touch my shoulders, and I unconsciously flinch away. "Relax, it's okay." He whispers in a smooth baritone.
My stomach fluttered.
I nod slowly, taking in a deep breath.
