"Sterling."
Zara's words were abruptly interrupted by a voice.
Celeste ran down from the car and held Sterling's hand in front of Zara, saying, "I suddenly feel a little sick and tired, I want to go home."
She pursed her lips, speaking softly.
Her eyes looked at Sterling, seemingly trying to hide her emotions but still showing a pitiful look.
The goddess image was already eye-catching, and now with her restrained emotions, it was even more captivating. Even an iron-hearted alpha would feel sorry for her after witnessing her pitiful defeat against Zara.
Standing on the side, Zara clearly saw how Sterling's cold face softened in a magical way. His gaze appeared to have been filtered, and all sharpness was gone, replaced by gentle ripples.
"Alright," he complied, tilting his head slightly.
The word "alright" sounded so tender and sweet. Zara once again realized the difference between love and not loving someone.
Fortunately, she had long realized the reality and withdrew her love for him. Otherwise, she would have been tormented today.
The words she had wanted to say suddenly seemed unnecessary.
She smiled lightly, turned around, and left.
Celeste took the opportunity while Sterling went to get the car and hurriedly ran to the front of Zara's car.
With both hands pressed against the car door, the beautiful goddess's face showed clear signs of nervousness. "Zara, you better not badmouth me to Sterling!"
"Or else?" Zara turned her head to look at her with a faint smile, a smile that seemed like a half-smile.
Her tone sounded provocative, and the half-smile in her expression felt like silent mockery to Celeste!
Celeste clenched her fingers silently. Her face changed like a color palette in front of Zara, looking like a complete clown.
"You already have the big shot of Starlight Media, so why bother seeking my discomfort? There's a saying: old enemies should resolve their differences, not deepen them. If you still make me uncomfortable, I can cause enough trouble for you and the owner of Starlight Media!"
Zara's expression remained unchanged, and she casually replied, "Mhm."
Just "Mhm."
Celeste waited for a while, but Zara didn't say anything else.
Realizing that she had been played again, Celeste became more angry and embarrassed. Her clenched fist almost turned into a slap on Zara's face!
"Don't worry, I don't have the habit of meddling in my ex-mate's business and playing the thirdwheel," Zara finally spoke after a long while.
After speaking, she stepped on the gas, starting the car with a swish.
The car kicked up dirt and sand, splashing Celeste all over.
Celeste: "..."
She should have been relieved that Zara let her off, but her expression became even uglier.
Her cheeks twitched continuously and contorted!
All of Zara's actions and words just now were filled with two words: disdain, scorn!
She didn't directly expose her, yet she still managed to make her feel embarrassed and humiliated!
Under her sleeve, she didn't know how many nails she had broken.
Zara and Freya returned to their home very late.
They were planning to leave the next day.
When they reached the door, they saw a car parked there. The darkness made it hard to distinguish the car's color, but the person leaning against it was eye-catching.
The person had a tall and elegant figure, exuding a sense of refined demeanor.
The hair was tied up at the back of the head, with a few strands falling on the forehead, giving off a strong antique vibe.
Freya had better vision than Zara and recognized him first, couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh, isn't this Alpha Williams? Shooting a historical drama at this late hour?"
Williams raised his head and smiled at Freya and Zara.
He belonged to the gentle type, and with a smile, he revealed two dimples, looking quite charming.
His appearance and posture were undoubtedly like the leading alpha in a historical drama.
And also a warm male lead.
"I'm waiting for Miss Silvermoon," he said softly, with a voice as gentle as a spring breeze.
Freya knew about his relationship with Sterling and had no good feelings toward anyone around Sterling. Hearing that he was looking for Zara, she coldly sneered, "What? Did my friend offend your friend? Is that why you're guarding the door at this late hour?"
Williams: "..."
Zara pulled Freya gently and looked apologetically at Williams. "Sorry, my friend is very straightforward and overprotective, but she means no harm, Williams, please don't take offense."
Williams knew Freya, shook his head, and said, "No worries, I won't."
He also knew that Freya's anger was probably due to his relationship with Sterling. He could only sigh helplessly in his heart.
"Williams, is there something urgent for you to find me so late?" Zara asked.
Williams nodded, "I mainly came to discuss the itinerary for Silvaria with you. Alpha Jack Anderson has returned to Silvaria."
Zara had previously promised to help him act as an intermediary and persuade Alpha Jack. However, Jack had been traveling all over the world, making it difficult to track him down. As a result, this matter had not been implemented.
"Now that Alpha Jack has returned, let's do it tomorrow," Zara readily agreed.
"Great," Williams said with delight. "I'll book a flight ticket right away."
Zara didn't bother with formalities about the plane ticket and nodded her chin.
"It's too late now; there's no need for Alpha Williams to stay for coffee."
Williams glanced at Freya, who was staring at him as if he were an enemy. He thought to himself, Even if you ask me to stay, I don't have the courage.
"Zara, why did you promise Williams to persuade Alpha Jack?" Once Williams left, Freya immediately expressed her dissatisfaction. "Did you forget about the relationship between Williams and that scum Sterling?"
Zara gently patted her shoulder. "Yes, Williams is Sterling's friend, but he saved me."
She briefly explained what had happened.
"What? You went through something so significant, and you never mentioned this to me!" Freya's voice was filled with anger.
Before she could continue, Freya exploded.
Freya knew about Zara almost freezing to death in the snow, but she had no idea about specific situation during her birth of Lyra. Hearing her mention it now, she was furious.
"Zara, do you even consider me a friend? You... really infuriate me!" She was so angry that she wanted to end her friendship with Zara on the spot.
Zara held her back. "You were also in a difficult situation at the time, and besides, we were so far apart. It wouldn't have made a difference if I told you at that time."
Her words made Freya suddenly fall silent.
"That situation" was the most painful memory for her.
"I'm sorry." Zara realized she had misspoken and quickly apologized.
"Sorry for what?" Freya quickly regained her composure, but her eyes were red. "You've done so much for that scumbag Sterling, and the result... it's really not worth it!"
"In this world, some things can't be measured by worth. Don't you remember? I said as long as I do everything within my ability and with a clear conscience, it's enough."
Although Freya had accepted that notion before, when it came to pack life, it seemed like nonsense.
"It's fortunate that both you and Lyra are safe in the end," she sighed softly.
She didn't say anything more, but she still felt guilty.
She regretted not being by Zara's side back then. If she had been there, Zara wouldn't have suffered so much.
"I won't stop you. Go help Williams," she said. "However, after you're done helping, you two will go your separate ways. There's no more interaction allowed."
She didn't want Zara to have any contact with anyone associated with Sterling.
"Don't worry."
Early the next day, Zara walked out of the community with a small suitcase.
When she got up, Freya was still resting.
Zara didn't want to disrupt her sleep, so she left a brief message on a sticky note.
"Miss Silvermoon, good morning," the security guard greeted Zara warmly as he saw her. "Are you going on a trip?"
Zara smiled slightly. "Yes."
Although Zara was a homeowner, she had always been polite to the security guard.
The security guard liked her, so he always greeted her warmly whenever they met.
"Your car is waiting over there; it just arrived," the security guard pointed to the car near the entrance.
"My car?" Zara was briefly taken aback.
After Williams had booked the flight ticket last night, she had said she would go to the airport on her own. Why did he still come to pick her up?
Zara couldn't help but look over.
What she saw wasn't the Maserati that Williams often drove. Instead, it was a Bentley that she was very familiar with.
Seeing that Bentley, Zara's expression changed slightly.
