An uninvited guest walked through the doors.
Kai was heading toward the stage when he heard the door open. He paused and instinctively looked toward the entrance.
"You finally decided to show up."
He quietly breathed a sigh of relief, but when he saw who it was, his brow furrowed immediately.
It was Zara's lawyer, Sterling Ashford.
The lawyer walked step by step up to Kai and held out the document folder in front of him.
"Alpha Blackthorn, Miss Silvermoon asked me to deliver these to you." Sterling spoke in a professional tone as he opened the folder and pulled out several papers.
"This is proof of your soul-bond to Miss Nightfall in Ireland. This is the fake mating certificate between you and my client. From now on, your cohabitation arrangement is terminated, and you will not interfere with each other."
"The property entanglements have been divided up. My client has returned all your gifts—here's the itemized list."
"This contains evidence and toxicology reports proving that Miss Nightfall poisoned my client with wolfsbane."
"This is my client's miscarriage report."
"And this is evidence that you sent pack warriors to assault my client, causing her serious harm. She can pursue criminal charges at any time."
Sterling slammed each piece of evidence in front of Kai one by one. Watching his face grow paler and paler, the lawyer said mockingly, "Alpha Blackthorn, if you and your mate can behave yourselves and stop harassing Miss Silvermoon, she'll drop all charges."
"Also, she wishes you and your mate a happy soul-bond. This USB drive has some very interesting videos—you can enjoy them at your leisure."
After finishing, Sterling didn't even glance at Kai and walked straight out of the ballroom.
Everyone at the party was shocked, especially Kai's pack brothers, whose expressions toward Vixen completely changed.
They'd been helping such a vicious she-wolf deceive Zara all along, giving them a crushing sense of guilt.
They all turned to look at Vixen with hostile eyes.
"This isn't true! Don't believe him, Kai! Zara must be framing me!" Vixen felt her cheeks burning as she instinctively threw herself at Kai, sitting on the documents to hide them.
Kai stood frozen in place, his amber eyes terrifyingly bloodshot, every muscle in his body tense. He looked down at Vixen from above and said coldly, "Get off!"
"Kai, you have to believe me! I care for Zara just as much as you do—how could I hurt her?" Vixen clung to his legs, crying hysterically.
Kai stared at her intensely, his gaze like silver blades, scaring her into avoiding eye contact and guiltily turning her head away.
"Everyone get out! GET OUT!" Kai's heart was burning with inexplicable panic as he roared at the crowd.
Vixen quickly got to her feet. Before she could take a single step, Kai's ice-cold voice rang out behind her.
"Vixen stays."
Her body shook violently, and she stood there trembling uncontrollably.
She'd never seen Kai this terrifying before.
Kai had his pack warriors tie her to a chair and inserted the USB drive into a computer.
The first video showed the hotel room in Ireland, filmed through a crack in the door as he discussed soul-bonding with Vixen with his friends.
The second video showed him helping Vixen with her prenatal checkup and feeding her at the revolving restaurant.
The tenth video showed Zara lying alone in a hospital bed, tormented by the pain of losing her pup.
The final video was what Vixen had sent to her, with Kai convinced that Zara had hurt Vixen...
When the videos finished playing, the air was deathly silent.
Kai's eyes were blazing with pure agony and rage. Zara had been innocent this whole time. He was the monster who'd destroyed the only she-wolf who'd ever truly loved him...
