Kai clenched his fists tightly, his bloodshot eyes filling with tears as he lost control of his emotions and smashed the computer to the ground.
He went completely berserk, kicking over the wine tower, destroying the big screen, and grabbing the documents mixed with glass shards from the floor. He ripped them to shreds, blood staining the white papers and dripping onto the ground.
Then, he suddenly started laughing manically.
He laughed until tears streamed down his face.
"Baby, you must hate me so fucking much right now, don't you? You're never gonna forgive me, are you..."
"How was I so goddamn stupid to think I could hide this from you?"
Kai stumbled backward, his heart feeling like it was being carved open with a silver blade. The pain flowed through his bloodstream to every part of his body, making him wish he were dead.
Vixen sat frozen in terror. She'd never seen the usually composed Kai completely lose his mind like this.
She didn't dare speak, even breathing carefully. All she wanted was to escape from here immediately.
Suddenly, Kai turned to look at her, and her body jolted violently.
"Ka-Kai. Don't be sad. Zara will come back. If she can't stand me being around, I'll disappear forever." She forced herself to offer comfort, her seductive face filled with terror.
Kai let out a cold laugh and walked up to her. "You don't need to leave. You're staying right here with me."
Seeing him regain his composure, she felt slightly relieved—Kai still loved her. But his next words plunged her into icy despair.
"Once I dig up all the shit you've done, you'll wish you were never born."
Kai's usually gentle face showed a murderous expression as he ordered his warriors to take Vixen away.
Vixen was too scared to make a sound. Only when she was being dragged out of the ballroom did she remember to beg for mercy.
"Kai, please...I'm innocent..."
Kai closed his eyes, but he still couldn't block out the images he'd just seen. Zara's pale face haunted him like a curse.
He tried to control his emotions and regain his rationality before leaving the ballroom.
He had his beta look up information about whoever bought the pack's company shares. No matter how much it cost, he had to buy it back.
"Alpha Blackthorn, nice to see you again." Sterling looked at Kai's ashen face and couldn't help but mock him. "You think buying back the pack's company shares will make up for all your mistakes?"
"Cut the crap. I'll pay triple the price." Kai's face was stone-cold.
"Not for sale."
"You're selling whether you want to or not. You're just some small-time lawyer—what makes you think you can go up against the Blackthorn Pack? Ten times the price. You have one day to work with my beta." Kai's voice was ice-cold with warning.
Sterling smiled dismissively and stood up to leave. "You can try whatever you want. I have some business, excuse me."
Kai's eyes narrowed as he stared at the lawyer's retreating figure. "You know where my Luna is, don't you? She had you deliver those documents, so you're still in contact with her!"
Kai's emotions were getting heated. "Where is my Luna?"
"Alpha Blackthorn, you and Miss Silvermoon aren't mated. Legally, you have no right to call her your Luna, and morally, you don't deserve to." Sterling said coldly.
His words cut through Kai's heart like a blade. Kai took a deep breath. "What happens between me and her is none of your damn business. You're nothing but an outsider. Just tell me where she is!"
Sterling said nothing more and walked out. Kai chased after him, grabbing his shoulder to stop him from leaving.
Sterling shook him off in disgust, but Kai came at him again, grabbing the lawyer by the collar. "I'm giving you one more chance. Tell me where she is!"
"You don't deserve to know."
Kai threw a punch at the lawyer. Sterling didn't hesitate to hit back, and Kai lost his footing, stumbling backward into a glass door.
He crashed right through the glass door, cutting his head open and tearing countless holes in his suit.
Blood instantly covered his face, blocking his vision as dizziness overwhelmed him and everything went black.
