Third-Person's POV
"How could it be her?" Another Sterling's friend objected with a disdainful tone, "If she truly had the ability, she would have used her body to seduce Alpha Sterling. Comparing that she-wolf to the professional dancers is an insult to the dancers."
Sterling coldly looked up, only seeing the back of a slender and alluring woman.
She seemed to bear some resemblance to Zara.
But that she-wolf was completely devoted to tricks and lies, using them to protect her position as Luna Ashford. How could she perform such a provocative dance?
But Sterling couldn't help but recall her behavior when they met at the restaurant. He stood up and walked to the side, making a call to the pack house. "Is Luna at home?"
"She... hasn't returned since morning," the pack servant on the other end of the line said.
Hearing this, Sterling's face turned cold.
But in the next moment, he smirked.
Did she think that with these tricks, he would become interested in her?
He knew in his heart that what had happened at Moonrise Academy a few days ago was indeed Celeste's fault. Over the years, relying on his indulgence, she had become far too spoiled. Because of the death of his pack brother Victor, he had wanted to take more care of this poor mother and pup, but that had made her start to act unscrupulously and even bully Lyra.
Sterling was a bit irritable. He had already warned Celeste and Blake not to let anything similar happen again.
He couldn't understand why Zara was so angry. Celeste had told her personally that Blake had just given Lyra a light push, yet she still had made a huge fuss about it.
Those parents did tear up the painting she had just bought, but he had given Zara enough money to buy tens of thousands of such paintings. She could just buy a few more.
Was it really necessary to bring up bond dissolution just because of these trifles? She was just trying to manipulate him.
Her trick, he would only fall for it once!
Sterling silently walked into a private room.
His friends stood nearby, "Sterling, you shouldn't have had any involvement with someone like Zara in the first place. Just pay her off and make her disappear! Look, she claimed it was an accident, not requiring any responsibility, but when she went out, she told the reporters that you and she were mated and about to have a bonding ceremony. She has the audacity to this extent, even TV dramas wouldn't dare to perform like this!"
These words stirred up pain in Sterling's heart, his brows furrowed, his face becoming frightening.
"Stop saying that." The person across interrupted, "When that incident happened, Sterling, as an Alpha, shouldn't have reacted excessively. The relationship happened by accident, but paying her off would be demeaning, wouldn't it?"
"Ask Sterling if that was an accident. Zara orchestrated the whole incident!"
"Even if she orchestrated it, without what happened afterward..."
That person only spoke half a sentence, then suddenly fell silent, unnaturally glancing at Sterling.
Sterling took a sip of whiskey, his face becoming gloomy even though he didn't interfere in the conversation. The atmosphere turned uncomfortable as well.
His friends patted him on the back, "Sterling, after four years of being mated to her, you probably don't even care about how she looks. Just reject the bond, wasting your youth on such a terrible she-wolf is not worth it."
"If it weren't for you, only old and weak rogues would accept her. She only deserves someone like that!"
Zara's POV
Soon after, I heard mocking laughter coming from inside the room.
Outside the door, Freya's eyes turned red, clenching her fists as if she wanted to join the argument. The two of us simply walked past, not expecting to hear those words.
I firmly pulled her away. "Why are you stopping me? I can't swallow this anger with those self-righteous people treating you like that!" Freya shouted as I dragged her outside.
I patted Freya's shoulder, being more composed as someone directly involved. "We dissolved our bond now, they can say whatever they want."
Before the bond dissolution, I always tried to defend myself, wanting to change the impression in Sterling and his friends' hearts.
But it was useless.
At that time, it was for the sake of pack circle harmony, but now that there was no longer a need, I didn't care about what others thought.
Freya was still angry. "After enduring humiliation for so many years because of him, he still doesn't believe you and can't even remember your face, thinking you only deserve old and weak rogues. Damn it, we'll make them open their eyes wide and see how exceptional you are and who truly deserves you!"
I treated those words as angry outbursts, not paying too much attention to them. I consoled Freya for a few words and then left.
The next day, because there were still important things to retrieve from the Ashford pack house, I went to his pack.
I didn't enter, just called the pack servants, requesting their assistance to bring my belongings out.
Shortly after the call, a car arrived.
The car stopped in front of me, and Sterling stepped out with a cold expression.
His gaze passed over me impatiently. Huh. I knew he definitely thought that after a night of chaos caused by me, seeing that he didn't respond, it was natural for me to obediently return.
"You've caused enough trouble, so come inside!" Sterling ordered coldly without any politeness.
I widened my eyes in surprise, understanding clearly now.
He indeed thought I couldn't let go of him.
I smiled gently and reminded him, "Alpha Sterling, it seems your memory is faulty. We signed the bond dissolution papers yesterday."
Sterling's eyebrows furrowed with an unhappy expression. "Still want to take advantage of the current situation? If it comes down to it and you find yourself caught between a rock and a hard place, the one who will be left embarrassed is you!"
Advantage?
His words were laced with sharp and forceful undertones, how could I possibly take advantage of such a situation?
I was about to speak when suddenly a strange sound reached my ears.
I couldn't help but turn my head and saw a giant banner with the words:
CONGRATULATIONS ZARA FOR ESCAPING HELL, SUCCESSFUL BOND DISSOLUTION!
Besides the banner, there were also a few small advertising boards with the words:
ZARA, DISSOLVE BONDS HAPPILY!
I: "..."
This sudden turn of events surprised me to the point where my eyes widened and my mouth opened slightly.
Before I could react, a bouquet of moon-blessed roses was presented before me. "Zara, will you now consider accepting me?"
I looked straight ahead and saw a handsome face, not only attractive but also one 6 feet tall, with a well-proportioned figure, a perfect physique!
Before I could say anything, he kneeled down on one knee. "I dare not promise too much, but I can guarantee that every minute, every second we spend together, I will hold you in the palm of my hand, listen to you, watch you smile, trust you, accompany you, and never abandon you!"
As soon as these words were spoken, I noticed Sterling's gaze immediately turned icy.
