"Why do you consider every she-wolf as Zara?" Robert, who was playing on her mobile phone on the other side and not participating in the conversation between the two, glanced over.
William had said something similar when he had seen a she-wolf dancing in the bar before.
Whenever the name Zara was mentioned, he would clearly show his dislike.
Sterling was already very annoyed. With both of them mentioning Zara, he couldn't sit still and lifted his foot to leave the box.
Zara's POV
The one-hour live broadcast had come to an end.
Lyra and I still had a lot to say.
Taking off the Queen mask, Lyra blinked her bright eyes at me and said, "This is the first time I've seen Mama smile so happily. Mama's smile is beautiful!"
I was stunned for a moment. After four years of mating, I had almost forgotten how to smile.
"Lyra is amazing too. I didn't expect you to dance so well." I praised while pinching Lyra's adorable cheeks.
Lyra's performance today also surprised me.
Lyra blushed and lowered her head, "Actually, I've always liked dancing, but Grandma and Aunt don't like it. Lyra is afraid they will scold Mama, so..."
Hearing Lyra's words, my eyes suddenly turned red.
I understood!
After mating, I had been living with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and they didn't give me any freedom.
I remembered that Lyra used to love moving her body to the music. At that time, the little pup was only a few months old. When she was one or two years old, she would jump up and down every day and even create her own dance moves.
But as time went by, she became less interested in dancing.
I thought that Lyra just didn't like it anymore, but I never thought that Lyra was afraid of being scolded!
Feeling guilty, I hugged Lyra tightly, "Don't worry, Lyra. In the future, you can dance as much as you want, and you don't have to worry about anything else."
"There's one more thing Mama wants to tell you. Mama and you will not stay at Grandma's pack house anymore, nor will we be near your father."
"Do you want that?"
I had not discussed the bond dissolution with Lyra, so I was extremely worried at this moment.
"You mean we won't stay at Grandma's anymore?" Lyra was slightly surprised, but then a happy expression appeared on her face. "That's really good!"
"You also don't want... to stay there?" Lyra's answer slightly surprised me.
"Grandma and Aunt don't like Mama, and Lyra doesn't either. I don't like them!" Lyra decisively shook her head without any hesitation.
The words of Lyra stirred an even deeper sense of guilt in me.
Because my low pack background, the Ashford pack, who considered themselves of a higher status, looked down on me and even had prejudices against Lyra.
In the first three years after Lyra was born, and the outside world had no idea about it. For the Ashford pack, her birth as a descendant of the Ashford pack would be a shameful thing.
I couldn't help but think: If back then I hadn't made such an impulsive decision, then discovered I was pregnant and silently gave birth to raise the pup on my own, would things have been different?
After the live broadcast ended, Freya told me that the house had been arranged properly.
I brought Lyra to the apartment I had purchased before getting mated.
Although my pack background wasn't good, I had earned a lot of money from the live broadcast.
I had bought this apartment with the money I earned from the live broadcast.
"Master, hello, I am Sterling, your most loyal and intelligent servant. Anything you need, just give me the command, and Sterling will serve you like a cow, like a horse."
I laughed playfully, "Freya, are you insane? I left that pack house just to completely forget about those people. Why did you change the room's voice system to Sterling's voice?"
"You suffered too much injustice in that pack house, and you couldn't retrieve the money, so let's be happy now. This intelligent butler can not only adjust the his voice but also the voice of his mother and even his younger sister. If you're not happy, you can freely change their voices to manipulate them."
Freya understood my pain and dissatisfaction in the past four years as the clearest, and she was also the most angry.
I gave her a look of "I can't do anything with you" and led Lyra into the room.
Everything in the new house made Lyra curious, especially her own little room, which was pink and filled with beautiful lace dolls.
Lyra happily ran into her own little world to play.
I and Freya were sitting by the coffee table, playing with our phones and drinking fresh tea.
"By the way, you owned many mansions, why did you choose this apartment? It's too small."
I looked around my house, "It's a little smaller, but it won't look empty."
After living in the Ashford pack house for four years, I was tired of that empty and cold feeling.
"Moreover, I bought this before getting mated. I wanted to be the old myself."
Freya almost burst into tears at my words, but when she heard me say that I wanted to return to my old self, she breathed a sigh of relief. "That's right."
As we were talking, we were scrolling through our phones.
The enthusiasm for the exaggerated news about Marcus and me still hadn't diminished. Freya occasionally scrolled through the phone screen and burst into laughter. "Everyone is very supportive of you two being together. In my opinion, Marcus is much better than that wretched Alpha Sterling."
"Marcus is great, but I can't have any improper relationship with him. Right now, I just want to live happily with Lyra. On the relationship aspect, I don't want to get involved."
Loving a Sterling had torn me apart into pieces. I had no hope when it came to a second love.
"Oh my Moon Goddess!" As we were talking, Freya suddenly slammed the coffee table, causing the tea to spill. "That Sterling, an absolutely despicable scum, was planning to get engaged to Celeste before the bond dissolution papers even cooled down!"
"Has he not already been betrayed once? Does he desire a lifetime of betrayal?"
I glanced over and saw Celeste's news page.
Attached to it was a photo, in which she looked full of radiance, standing next to someone else.
The person's face was not visible, but I could still see the red mole on their middle finger. It is absolutely Sterling.
The headline was quite impressive: [Spring is here, suitable for engagement.]
I only glanced at it once, then smiled faintly. "They are just passers-by in my life now. Whether they want to get engaged or mated has nothing to do with me."
After saying that, I turned around without bothering to look back a second time.
"Even so, it still annoys me! If it weren't for you standing up and speaking out, Sterling would have lost face a long time ago, and the Ashford pack would have collapsed!"
She slammed the table loudly. "He is not only ungrateful to you, but also doesn't even pay attention to you!"
"You don't need to worry about these things, but why did he make an official announcement like that when he is with Celeste?"
"Isn't this just tantamount to telling you that all your endeavors for him were in vain, and all the grievances you have endured were simply a consequence of your own actions?"
"That's how he feels deep down." I sighed softly. I had accepted the reality.
"That damn bastard!" Freya scratched the coffee table, imagining it was Sterling.
"Since he can trample on you as he pleases... Let's make a little fuss to make him uncomfortable!"
"This time, let Alpha Dante handle it. Use his noble and dominant demeanor to crush him!" Freya decided and picked up her phone to make a call.
"Stop it." I stopped her, fearing her actions. "You have already set me up with two Alphas this month, and people who don't know will think I'm someone worthless."
"Besides, Alpha Dante is different from Marcus. He is pure and innocent. Even if you push him towards me, I don't want to get involved."
"You." Hatred filled Freya's face, but I had made my decision and couldn't be changed. She could only let it go.
Although I didn't intend to take advantage of Dante, when I heard that he had returned, I still brought Lyra to meet him.
