"You are already bond-dissolved, what else can you have to do with her?" Freya expressed her unhappiness as she knew Pamela was looking for me.
I glanced at the phone screen for a moment.
"Pamela has never been willing to talk to me. This time, she personally called me. Something important must have happened. I need to go and see what she wants."
Despite her dissatisfaction, Freya still dropped me off at the meeting place.
When I entered, Pamela had already arrived and was sitting upright in her chair.
Upon seeing me, Pamela took a sip of coffee and then lowered her head before speaking indifferently, "Have a seat."
Pamela had a way of making me feel inferior with just one look.
In front of her, I felt as though I were no more than a mere omega wolf!
However, I no longer listened to her as I used to.
I stood a meter away and replied calmly, "If Luna Pamela has something to say, just go ahead."
Pamela's eyebrows twitched, clearly displaying her disdain for my lack of deference.
However, she refrained from reprimanding me and instead nodded at the person beside her, "Lawyer Helen."
Helen stepped forward.
"Miss Silvermoon, since you and Alpha Sterling have already dissolved your bond, you should make a decision regarding pup support."
"The pup? She is mine. Of course, I will take care of her," I replied without hesitation.
"Do not forget, that pup is also my granddaughter!" Pamela coldly reminded me, her drooping eyelids exuding disdain for my ignorance.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"Luna Pamela actually acknowledges that you have a granddaughter. That's rare!"
From the moment Lyra was born until now, Pamela had never even held her.
Every time she faced Lyra, she wore the same expression of indifference, as if Lyra were just a pet in the pack.
My words clearly offended Pamela's sense of prestige, and her face suddenly tightened.
However, she quickly regained her composure, as if the bigwig didn't care about the little ants. "Lyra is the pup of the Ashford pack and must stay with us."
"But she is closest to me!" I reminded. "You can ask Lyra herself whether she wants to be with me or with you."
"The pup is only three years old, so her opinion is naturally irrelevant."
"Considering the hard work you put into my pregnancy and childbirth, Luna Pamela can give you a certain amount of money as compensation."
"I advise you to accept it as soon as it is offered. Otherwise, if this matter goes to pack court, you have no chance of winning with your current financial resources."
Helen's words were intimidating, and she placed a check on the table.
When I saw the amount on it, I couldn't help but want to laugh.
One million! Pamela really thought I was a surrogate for a wealthy pack.
Clearly, it was apparent that Pamela had not only come to discuss custody but also to relish the opportunity to humiliate me with the million dollars at stake.
"Who said that I don't have the financial resources?"
Freya, concerned for my well-being, had been observing from the sidelines. She walked in.
Freya raised her chin confidently and waved her phone.
"Starlight Media has invested 1.4 million dollars to establish a growth fund for Lyra. All her future expenses will be covered by it."
"1.4 million dollars to support her until she is 18 years old is enough."
Helen's eyes showed shock.
Pamela also reversed her previous cold and arrogant look and suddenly glared at her.
"Now that I have enough financial resources to support Lyra, I have given her the most and she is the most dependent on me. Do you still think there is no chance of winning this, Helen?"
In this situation, I not only had a chance of winning but a 100% chance at that.
Helen looked at Pamela with a bitter expression and shook her head.
Freya and I were not in the mood to stay and admire her embarrassed face, so the two of us left together.
"I didn't expect Starlight Media to be willing to spend 1.4 million to support Zara!"
When Pamela got home, she still couldn't believe it! She asked Helen to investigate and it turned out to be true!
At this moment, she couldn't maintain her dignified appearance, and her face cracked a few times.
"I heard that Freya is just a part-timer. The owner of Starlight Media is someone else! Is Zara hooked up with the owner of Starlight Media again?" Diana angrily retorted.
Of course, only the owner could make such a large investment.
Thinking of this, she stamped her feet irritably. "What the hell does Zara have? Why is she the target of so many wealthy Alphas as soon as she gets bond dissolved?"
Dante spent 100 million to buy a diamond crown for me.
And now the owner of Starlight Media was willing to spend 1.4 million on me!
Each one was wealthier than the other.
Diana was filled with envy.
If things continued like this, my limelight would overshadow hers.
Diana was a well-known daughter of the Ashford pack.
If she allows a she-wolf who she disdains to trample upon her, how can she ever hold her own in this territory?
Diana was extremely annoyed. She quickly called her think tank, Jenny Miller.
"Help me find a way to ruin that shameless Zara!"
She explained everything.
"You said she had an affair with the owner of Starlight Media?"
On the other end, Jenny's voice revealed joy.
"This is really interesting. As far as I know, the owner of Starlight Media got mated four years ago. Zara is a mistress."
"He's mated?" Hearing this, the irritability in Diana's heart vanished.
A new plan popped up in her mind. "Jenny, do me a favor."
I glanced at the phone screen for a moment.
