The Third Person's POV
He didn't clarify what would happen after that.
But Zara understood his means.
This man was always ruthless and indifferent towards his opponents.
After Sterling finished speaking, he turned his back and left.
His figure was indifferent and cold.
Zara watched his departing figure, a cold smile fleeting across her face.
How could she have liked him before?
"Sterling came to see you regarding Lyra's custody, right?"
It wasn't until after they finished eating, when Lyra had gone to her room, that Freya asked about the matter.
Zara nodded, feeling heavy-hearted.
She recounted what Sterling had said before leaving.
"Damn it!"
Upon hearing Sterling's threat to Zara, Freya couldn't help but curse.
"This Alpha probably thinks everyone in the world is good except for you, who he can't forgive!"
She became furious and scratched the table as if scratching Sterling.
"In this matter, a little investigation would reveal who is right and wrong. Sterling's blind stubbornness is truly astonishing."
"If we had known earlier, it would have been better to never pay attention to him from the beginning, to let him remain in the dark."
"Blindness is not terrifying, but blind stubbornness has no cure!"
Freya looked at Zara, her eyes filled with sympathy.
Few people knew that Zara actually had only one eye, and the remaining eye had poor vision.
In the past, for this sinful Alpha, she had made sacrifices that ordinary people couldn't imagine!
Freya knew that bringing up the past would hurt Zara, so she finally stopped and held her hand, "What are you planning to do now? Do you have a plan?"
When a lawsuit begins, the agreement Zara held in her hand would have little value.
At first, Zara had Pamela sign the agreement simply because she understood that Pamela valued her reputation, and once she had signed the document, retracting her commitment would be too humiliating.
She had calculated everything but had overlooked Sterling.
He had agreed to let her take the pup, but now he had changed his mind.
Zara remained silent, and Freya couldn't understand her thoughts.
"In my opinion, if he wants to take you to court, let's go ahead and sue! We have evidence in hand, why fear not defeating those people?" Freya decisively said, taking out her phone to call a lawyer.
"No!" Zara quickly grabbed her hand. "Don't sue."
"Zara, it's not a question of whether we want to sue or not now, but rather that Sterling will definitely sue us!" Freya reminded her.
Then she felt heartbroken.
"I understand, you don't want to confront him in public, you don't want your love to end in that way."
After those soul-wrenching experiences, not everyone could endure it.
"I don't care how my love ends, but Lyra can't." Zara said, her tone even colder. "She doesn't need to stand between us, fought over by others."
"Therefore, we can't take Lyra to court." She had made up her mind.
"But if that's the case, we can only give up Lyra," Freya expressed her concerns again.
"We won't."
Zara patted her hair and pulled Freya closer, whispering in her ear...
"Brother, is it true? Today, will Zara really bring Lyra back?"
In the Ashford pack house, Diana had just learned this news and hurriedly sought out Sterling for confirmation.
Ever since Pamela's dark expression finally returned to normal, she went to Diana and said, "Your brother hasn't gone to work all morning just to wait for Lyra. What could it be?"
"That's fantastic!" After receiving the confirmation, Diana was so overjoyed that she seemed like she wanted to jump up.
Jenny wasn't joking; she was indeed talented.
Diana had decided to use Lyra to punish Zara.
She wanted to make her suffer, to the point where she would kneel down and beg for forgiveness!
Pamela lowered her gaze to her watch. "It's time."
She didn't think much about punishing Zara, but the truth was that Zara had forced her to sign the agreement, which made her uncomfortable.
And with Lyra carrying the Ashford name and getting lost, it was like a slap in the face to their pack.
The three of them were talking when beta stepped in. "Luna, Alpha, young miss, Miss Zara has arrived."
Zara's POV
Upon hearing that I had arrived, the three of them stood up and left the pack house simultaneously.
I stood there outside.
Today, I was wearing a white dress, fair as snow, with a radiant face.
In such a state, I knew I looked magnificent, in stark contrast to the previous me at the Ashford pack house, always quiet and poorly dressed.
Even more so, I was no longer the same as before.
Diana caught sight of my image and lowered her head slightly.
It had to be acknowledged that I had changed a lot after the bond dissolution, not only in style and demeanor, but also in appearance.
Behind me, I could sense Diana biting her lip. "Having a powerful man to support you really makes a difference."
I showed no expression, but Diana, at times rigid and stiff, had a terrible look on her face.
Sterling glanced over, his voice strained. "That's enough!"
To say such a thing would only losing the Ashford pack's face.
Diana realized she had said something she shouldn't have and quickly closed her mouth.
I smirked, a hint of sarcasm appearing.
"Where is Lyra?"
Sterling impatiently asked.
He walked around and didn't see any sign of Lyra.
"Lyra won't come here," I calmly replied.
Sterling's face turned angry upon hearing the answer, and as he looked at me, the same disdainful expression that used to be on his face resurfaced. "Did you think hiding Lyra would prevent me from doing anything? How naive!"
I merely chuckled.
Truly, what Sterling wanted to scold me for was foolishness.
"What do you want to do?"
Initially, I had wanted to say something else, but upon hearing this question, I suddenly felt ignited.
"Of course, we will find a lawyer to take you to court, so from now on, you will never see Lyra again!" Diana couldn't contain her tone.
My smile grew even more sardonic.
Although I was smiling, in my eyes, a profound sense of sadness emerged.
Finally, I looked directly at Sterling. "Is that so?"
My resolute gaze clearly defined that I would definitely get an answer.
Sterling looked into my eyes and saw the teardrops trembling in my memories.
His heart ached.
But only for a few seconds.
Immediately, he nodded. "Yes!"
For a she-wolf who only knew how to play manipulative games like me, this was the best way to punish me!
"You're so ruthless," I murmured, my voice filled with pain and helplessness.
Sterling laughed coldly. "Just like your calculations four years ago, I have been generous enough!"
"Calculations four years ago?" I asked again, surprised that he would bring up that matter.
My eyes grew colder.
"Sterling, why do you still see yourself as the victim?"
