Third-Person's POV
On the other end, Sterling's face darkened like the bottom of a pot as he watched the call be disconnected.
After committing such a despicable act, this she-wolf couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge him.
He had come out of pack house, and a fire was burning in his heart.
Over the years, no matter how big the matter was, he could always force himself to remain calm. But the bombshell that Zara dropped this morning completely shattered his composure!
Even after several hours had passed, the fire in his heart continued to grow, not diminishing in the slightest but expanding!
Four years ago, she shamelessly climbed up to him, announcing that they were engaged, not because she loved him but... to give a decent status to the pup of the boss of Starlight Media?
This hurt him far more than her previous claim that she did it out of love for him.
A hundred times, a thousand times, ten thousand times more hurtful!
He dialed the number again, but this time it showed that the call couldn't be connected.
Zara had blocked him!
He squeezed his phone so hard that his fingertips turned pale, and his knuckles almost dislocated from the pressure.
The door opened at that moment, and William walked in.
Seeing him, William hurriedly spoke, "The Thousand-Faced Queen has been contacted, but she's unwilling to help us. What should we do next?"
Sterling seemed to not hear his voice, nor did he even look at him. He walked straight past him without a glance.
Left alone, William felt a chilling coldness that made him shiver involuntarily.
This person...
"What's going on?" He looked at Robert and Celeste, who were still present.
Normally, no matter how bad Sterling's mood was, he would never be careless about work matters. But just now, he didn't react at all when William spoke.
"What else can it be? Being manipulated for four years is bad enough, and now he finds out he's not even the father of the pup. How could he be in a good mood?" Robert replied with a touch of sarcasm.
Of course, he was not mocking Sterling, but Zara.
He briefly recounted what had happened.
"William keeps saying that Zara is a good person. Is this your criteria for choosing people?" Robert expressed his dissatisfaction with William's bias towards Zara.
However, he was not in a bad mood.
The more Zara crossed the line, the less likely Sterling would be involved with her.
On the other side, Celeste was also very pleased.
She never expected so many unexpected joys.
Now, even the pup wasn't Sterling's. What else did she have to worry about?
As long as the truth was not exposed, Sterling would cherish and love her forever.
Thinking of this, Celeste stood up gracefully.
She walked to a secluded spot before taking out her phone that she had been holding and making a call. "You once said that Sterling is unconditionally doting on me because of a certain matter. And because of this matter, he will never abandon me and will always comply with my requests."
"What is the matter?"
"That matter is actually related to a person," the person on the other end of the call slowly said.
"Who?"
Few hours later.
"Robert, do you know where Sterling went? I've been looking for him for a while and couldn't find him. I'm a bit worried. Can you help me find him?"
The voice was clear and melodious, and I couldn't be more familiar with it.
It was Celeste!
I looked at Robert, the one who had always looked down on me. I let out a light snort.
It turned out that he came to my door to help Celeste find Sterling?
It seemed like Celeste was really fortunate.
On the one hand, she had Sterling who was devoted to her and willing to overlook even her betrayal.
On the other hand, she had Robert, who was willing to run around for her.
I was about to tell Robert that Sterling was not at my place when the second voice message from Celeste sounded.
"Robert, there's no need to look for him anymore. I already know where Sterling is. He's at the Prime Hotel, and Marcus... is also there."
As the message ended, Freya's phone rang.
She picked it up.
Upon hearing the content of the call, her face immediately changed. "Damn Sterling!"
We hurried to the Prime Hotel.
The door of room 1032 was slightly ajar.
Inside the room, Marcus sat on the bed.
He was wearing an unbuttoned shirt, exposing the skin on his chest.
His hands were resting on his sides, and his usually smiling face was now filled with anger.
Sitting across from him was an Alpha who seemed like a deity.
His long legs were casually stretched out, and he had one hand resting on the armrest of the chair, holding a lighter and flicking it on and off.
Making a crisp, cold sound.
The Alpha's face showed no expression at all, and he remained silent throughout.
It was none other than Sterling.
I pushed the door open and walked in. When I saw the situation next to Marcus, I gasped in shock.
"Hiss..."
Freya rushed in and, upon seeing the scene, frustratedly grabbed a handful of her hair.
"Damn it!"
Seeing the two of us, Marcus let out a low roar, his angry eyes glaring at Sterling. "Sterling, are you even human, framing me like this?"
Sterling stopped flicking the lighter and leaned slightly forward, his cold gaze not falling on Marcus. "Did I force you to sleep with her?"
His gaze pointed to Marcus's side.
At this moment, there was a she-wolf sitting beside Marcus.
Her clothes were disheveled and barely covered by a blanket.
This scene was enough to indicate what had happened before.
Freya was so anxious that she grabbed her scalp, helplessly shouting, "Marcus!"
Marcus's handsome face was filled with grievances. "I didn't seek out this she-wolf. I didn't do anything with her!"
"I'm his fan. I've liked him for a long time," the she-wolf said softly.
I understood Marcus's character quite well.
Although he could be smooth-talking and a bit flirtatious on normal days, he still had some bottom line.
He would never have any intimate relations with a fan.
If it were just Marcus and the female fan in the room, everything would be explainable.
However, Sterling was also present.
He wasn't a bored person; he must have had a purpose in holding on to Marcus like this.
With his means, today's incident would undoubtedly ruin Marcus!
I walked up to Sterling and asked, "Sterling, what exactly do you want to do?"
Sterling remained silent, only looking down at his watch.
His indifference remained unchanged as always.
In the next moment, he stood up and walked out of the room.
I took a deep breath and followed him outside.
"The person who provoked you is me. Take it out on me if you must. Marcus is innocent; spare him." I stood in front of him, my tone noticeably softer.
I had underestimated Sterling's means.
I thought he would at most shut down Starlight Media.
But I never expected him to go after someone else.
"I'm not looking for you; I'm looking for your mate!"
