The she-wolf approaching had a graceful figure, exquisite makeup, and a dazzling charm.
"Sterling," Celeste softly called his name, her eyes filled with affection.
Sterling looked at her for a moment, responding with a faint acknowledgment.
"Are you leaving?" Celeste asked, craning her neck to look inside.
"It's rare that everyone is here. Stay a little longer," she suggested.
Sterling showed little interest. "Enjoy yourselves."
A visible disappointment appeared on Celeste's face, and her fingers curled up silently.
Behind her, Robert's dissatisfied voice came: "Sterling, come on. Our Princess Celeste rarely has time; don't spoil her mood."
In Robert's heart, Celeste was a princess among all she-wolves.
"Yeah, I've been rushing to finish several jobs recently. I'm almost exhausted," Celeste chimed in, her voice sounding pitiful.
She didn't forget to use her delicate fingers to massage her shoulders, looking genuinely fatigued.
In the past, Sterling would have cared for her and put her first, even if it meant setting aside important pack matters.
However, this time, he showed no reaction at all.
He still maintained that indifferent alpha expression.
A look of puzzlement appeared in Celeste's eyes.
He had previously expressed publicly that he would protect her for a lifetime. During these days, she had expected him to contact her proactively, just like before, acting as her guardian and taking care of her.
However, he had disappeared without a trace, not even calling her once!
Celeste had initially felt relieved when she learned that he had dissolved his bond with Zara, thinking that her spring had finally arrived. But at this moment, she felt inexplicably anxious.
He didn't respond to Celeste, nor did he turn around and go back. He simply continued walking forward.
Celeste's heart sank to the bottom, and tears almost burst out.
She hurried a few steps and caught up with Sterling in the corridor.
"Sterling! I miss you!"
She ran up and hugged Sterling tightly from behind, resting her head on his broad alpha back.
Sterling stopped in his tracks.
His back tensed.
But he didn't turn around.
Celeste hugged him even tighter. "Sterling, in these four years apart, I've thought of you every single day. Let's... start over, okay?"
Sterling had received word about the gathering from Robert, who also said in the message, "Some things won't come to fruition if you don't reveal them."
Celeste was a she-wolf with high self-esteem, especially since Sterling had pampered her like a jewel since she was in her teens, and she had Robert as a supporter at her service.
Her sense of superiority was extremely strong, to the point of looking down on others.
Even after seeing Robert's reminder, she still had no intention of proactively lifting the veil.
But Sterling's indifferent attitude just now frightened her.
Only then did she realize that if she didn't take the initiative, even with Sterling's bond dissolution, she might still lose him.
Tears welled up in Celeste's eyes as she stood behind Sterling and said, "Even if you're angry, punishing me by being away for four years is enough."
Outwardly, she appeared bright and charming—a graceful she-wolf goddess.
But now, facing Sterling, she looked pitiful and softly cried.
It was the kind of sob that could tug at any alpha's heartstrings.
Sterling gently pulled her hands away and faced her.
Celeste's eyes brightened, thinking that he would embrace her.
However, he only lightly placed his hand on her shoulder.
"If you have time, accompany me somewhere tomorrow," he said.
Celeste looked at him, and her heart seemed to stop for a moment.
He didn't immediately accept her confession!
She had already put away her pride, even sacrificing her face, and taken the initiative to make up with him.
Celeste remembered too well the affection and indulgence Sterling had once shown her. She had thought that when she reached this point, he would be excited and happy, immediately agreeing.
The huge gap between her expectations and reality left her stunned for a while, and the tears that had welled up in her eyes could no longer fall.
She just stared at him in a daze.
Sterling didn't force her, and he was about to leave.
Celeste became anxious and quickly grabbed his arm. "If you have time, wherever you want to go, I'll accompany you!"
At least he didn't reject her, right?
No rejection meant there was still hope.
Over the years, Celeste had experienced a lot and finally understood that in this world, there was no alpha like Sterling, who was not only outstanding but loved her to the core.
Zara's POV
Today, I went to the moonlit pond with Lyra for a live stream.
This pond was located to the northeast of the Moonless territory and had been idle because the owner had gone out to join another pack. Worried that the pond might become desolate, the owner asked my dad to take care of it.
My dad had planted moon lilies in the pond.
At this time, it was the season when the moon lilies were in full bloom.
The moon lilies that dad planted were not as diverse as those found in professional gardens in pack territories; they were all silver-white in color. However, each blossom was exceptionally large, held up by thick stems, and the entire pond was filled with a ethereal moonlit scene.
The moon lilies exuded the temperament of rising from the mud yet remaining unstained, a sight that captivated everyone's attention—both human and werewolf viewers alike.
I stood elegantly in the boat, wearing a flowing dress. Dad was responsible for rowing the boat, and Lyra was busy creating a lively atmosphere.
As the boat sailed along, the wind blew gently, making the corners of my dress flutter gracefully. I casually played with the silver moon lilies beside me using my slender fingers, and my hair floated in mid-air. At that moment, I felt as if I were a moon goddess strolling among the clouds.
Looking at the live stream room, I could see all kinds of exclamations and screams from the fans. They were praising my ethereal aura, Lyra's cuteness, and dad's calm temperament.
Thinking back to the ancient wolf songs that dad used to sing to me when I was a child, my heart was stirred, and I couldn't help but start singing.
My voice came out particularly crisp and sweet, just like that of a nightingale. I also cleverly added some local pack flavor to the song. In an instant, the entire live stream room seemed to boil over, as if it was going to explode!
"Such a beautiful moonlit scene, such a beautiful she-wolf, and such a beautiful voice! Oh my, even movies can't be this good-looking!"
"I'm going to faint; I can't take it anymore."
"I want to die in this voice."
"Can I die in the arms of the Thousand-Faced Queen?"
"The Little She-wolf is here; no foul language allowed!"
Dad, who was usually quite shy for a former alpha, couldn't hold himself back when he heard me singing that wolf song he used to sing to me. He started singing along too.
Lyra hadn't learned how to sing yet, but that didn't worry her at all. She just danced and made all sorts of adorable movements on the boat, keeping in time with our singing.
"Oh my, I'm being warmed up by this family."
"I didn't expect even old Alpha Arthur to be such a great singer."
"Little She-wolf, baby, be careful not to jump into the water!"
With all these praises and kind reminders from everyone, the screen was filled with such a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
Before long, the live streaming room was filled with nearly eight million viewers, and the number just kept on soaring!
Later, I didn't know what was going on at the other end of the computer screen. But I surely didn't expect that there was a gentle and tender face with slightly pursed lips.
It was Williams, and his gaze was fixed on the screen, watching my figure that probably looked like a princess in the video.
After singing and dancing, the three of us finally ended the live stream.
Dad brought the boat ashore and carried Lyra off the boat.
Lyra held a large net bag in her arms, filled with fish that dad had caught.
The plump and tender fish kept sliding inside the net bag, making Lyra's clothes wet and dirty.
She didn't mind at all and held the bag tightly.
Her little face was smiling like a rising sun, constantly talking to the fish, "Don't make trouble; the obedient ones won't be cooked by Grandpa."
I asked Lyra and dad to go home first, and then I made my way to the delivery point in the nearest pack settlement. I wanted to send some fresh moon lily roots and the agricultural products that dad had grown to Freya.
After carefully sending off the package, I started to walk back slowly.
I was strolling along the path when suddenly, out of nowhere, a motorcycle came roaring towards me. The person on the bike had such a fierce look on their face, and there was this terrifying murderous intent in their eyes. They seemed to be aiming straight for me, as if they wanted to crash right into me!
