"Who the hell are you?" I snapped, my voice sharp with panic. "Delete those photos right now, or I'm calling the cops!"
But the person on the other end didn't flinch. Instead, they shot back: "Are you sure you want to involve the police?"
Then came the video.
A sickening montage—me in the shower, Shane and me slipping into a KTV bathroom one after another, then the two of us tangled together in my living room. My stomach twisted as the clips played out, my face burning with shame.
If this got out—if my family, my friends, my coworkers saw this—I'd never recover.
"What do you want?" My hands trembled so badly I could barely type.
"If you don't want this going viral, be at the pavilion halfway up South Hill tomorrow at noon. No cops. No telling anyone. Or you'll regret it."

"Do it, or this video hits your entire company's inbox in five seconds."
A list of corporate emails flashed on my screen.
I was out of options. I chugged it.
Almost instantly, the world tilted. My vision blurred, my knees buckling as I clawed at the pavilion pillar for balance.
"Good girl, Alice…"
That voice—slick, familiar—sent a jolt of terror through me.
I tried to turn, but my legs gave out. The last thing I heard before darkness swallowed me was Zachary and Shane shouting my name.
Then—nothing.
When I woke, rough ropes dug into my wrists. Trees loomed overhead, and behind me? A sheer drop.
"Stay back!" the kidnapper snarled. "Or I kill her now!"
Through the haze, I saw Zachary gripping a baseball bat, Shane with a collapsible baton—both frozen, staring down my captor.
And then I recognized the voice.
My blood turned to ice.
It was Damian Richter.
My ex.
