The next day,he packed up and went to the company.
Unexpectedly,Jennie cried when he opened the door and threw herself into his arms.
She clearly hadn't rested either.Dark circles shadowed her eyes and her long hair was a mess.
Her clothes were crumpled.She looked utterly disheveled.
"Thomas,I'm sorry.It was my fault.I shouldn't have said so much to Sharon.Please don't be angry with me,okay?"
Thomas pushed her away,his face cold and stern."Go back to where you belong."
Jennie shook her head,crying.
"I don't want to!Those internet trolls are camping outside my house.They're calling me a homewrecker,saying I deserve everything that's happening to me."
"They said they're going to kill me.I'm scared to go back,Thomas.I'm so afraid…"
Thomas would have already held and comforted her if she had cried like this before.
After all,her face looked so much like Yolanda's.He couldn't bear to see her cry.

"Thomas,I promise I'll be obedient from now on.Please let me move back into your house,okay?I'll continue to take care of Hunter for you."
"That's not appropriate,"Thomas said,unmoved.
"I'll hire a nanny to look after Hunter.You don't need to come here anymore."
In a state of near collapse,Jennie asked,"What's not appropriate?"
They were now publicly known as a scumbag and a bitch;they should be a perfect match,stuck together.
Thomas lowered his gaze slightly."Sharon will be unhappy if she sees you here when she returns."
Jennie froze on the spot.
After a long moment,she laughed through her tears."So,you really have fallen in love with her."
This time,Thomas didn't deny it.
Instead,he touched the watch on his wrist,a look of nostalgia on his face.
It was a gift I had bought for him when his business succeeded.
It wasn't expensive,but it had cost me every penny I had at the time.

He pried her hand off his arm."Oh,and make sure you return Sharon's mother's painting.Just send it back by courier."
"She was devastated when you took it.Once I return it,maybe she won't be so mad."
Jennie felt like she'd fallen into an ice-cold abyss.
She recounted her past with Thomas in detail,exaggerating her contributions to the company and Hunter,trying to evoke Thomas's pity.
