"Aw~ Yuki-kun!" Mina whined as she clung onto him like a child.
"S-sorry Mina... you're technically stronger than me so I had to come up with a plan..." he admitted as he held her up.
"Now, we've got no time to lose! Let's move on to the sixth match!" Mic shouted.
"Good luck, Tokoyami." Yuki nodded to the quiet boy passing by the tunnel.
"Thank you."
"Offense and defense in one body! The dark samurai accompanied by Dark Shadow! From the hero course, it's Tokoyami Fumikage!"
Yuki knew Uraraka wouldn't be at the stands and Iida probably wasn't there either. The likelihood of him wanting to strangle Midoriya wasn't looking good. So instead, he headed over to the waiting room where she would probably be waiting.
"Tokoyami advances to the second round!"
"A completely overwhelming victory! Tokoyami's Dark Shadow! Could it be the greatest quirk ever?!"
Doing some quick maths....
"Looks like I'm going up against him." he sighed, making a turn in the maze of the stadium.
"How the hell am I gonna beat Dark Shadow?" he whined.
Player Waiting Room 2
Knocking softly he waited for a response.
"Come in!"
As soon as he opened the door to see Uraraka, he knew she was feeling frustrated.
"Yo!" he smiled trying to ease her worries.
"Yuki-kun... what brings you here?" her smile was forced.
Yuki shrugged, closing the door behind him, "Well I, at the moment, feel the need to stangle our fanboy of a friend. So without you or Iida standing between us, he will definitely get an arm or leg...or both twisted." Yuki sat down with a matter of fact tone in his voice.
Uraraka gave a nervous laugh.
"What's on your mind?" Yuki asked, leaning back in his seat across from her.
Her hands were nervously tightened on the table. "I think I've come up with a plan," she nodded reassuringly, mostly to herself.
"That's good. Make sure you get a good punch on his face. Doubt anyone's done that, at least with the intent to break his jaw." Yuki smugly told her.
"I don't think anyone one was willing to do it." She chuckled.
"Well you can be the first. If you do end up beating him we might get to fight each other." Yuki grinned. "Of course we could alway just fight each other any other day but--"
"Yuki-kun please stop fighting other people." Uraraka laughed. "You might get hurt, and then we'd be the ones to keep reminding you." she teased.
Her posture was a bit relaxed now, "Yeah, I guess your right." he sighed placing his hands behind his head. "What kind of healer needs someone to tell them how to be careful."
She only shook her head before the door opened to reveal their friend Iida.
"Uraraka? Yuki? What are two-- Uraraka you're brow's just wrinkled!"
"Rude."
"My brow? Oh, I'm just getting nervous now..." she laughed it off.
"I see, You're up against that Bakugo, after all..." Iida sympathized.
"Yeah, I'm really scared."
"You weren't just a while ago!" Yuki sighed. "You've got a plan don't you? You'll do great!"
"I know, I think it's just finally settling in... but you know," she looked up to Iida, "after seeing a match like yours, Iida..."
"Like mine?"
"Uraraka!" a familiar voice piped in.
"Deku! Huh? You don't want to watch the others' matches?"
"Most ended quickly, and now Kirishima is up against someone from Class B."
Yuki kept quiet.
"Then, next... soon..."
"But, well, I don't think even Bakugo would use a full-strength explosion on a girl..."
"He would...." Midoriya blurted out.
Yuki only let a laugh out, passing it as a cough.
"Everyone's trying to become number one to make their dreams come true. Even if it's not Kacchan, no one would think about holding back."
Yuki nodded. He certainly didn't want anyone to hold back just because he didn't look capable of defending himself one-on-one.
"You've helped me so much, Uraraka. That's why I thought maybe I could help you a little." Midoriya looked at his burned notebook before holding it out to her.
"A plan to use your quirk against Kacchan. It's rough, but I came up with something."
Yuki turned to Uraraka to see if she would take it.
Having a back up wouldn't hurt but..
"Oh, isn't that great, Uraraka?" Iida gave her a thumbs up.
"Thanks, Deku. But, it's fine." her response took them aback.
"You're amazing Deku. I keep seeing more and more amazing sides to you. During the cavalry battle, I thought it's be easier to team up with friends, but now that I think about it I might've been trying to rely on you. That's why, when Iida said he'd challenge you, it actually made me feel a little embarrassed." she stood up, a sad smile on her face.
"Uraraka..."
Yuki watched as her confidence was slowly building up, walking towards the door.
"That's why it's fine. Everyone's facing the future and trying their hardest. That means we're all rivals, right? That's why..." she gave her best smile she could at the moment and gave her three best friends a shaky thumbs up. "Let's meet in the finals!"
Yuki scoffed, "Of course, we will."
The three saw as she walked out before following shortly.
"Yuki, what were you doing in there?" Midoriya asked.
Yuki only glanced at him before huffing and picking up his pace.
"Yuki-kun! The 1-A seats are this way!" Iida chopped in the opposite direction he was headed.
"I know!"
"The eighth and last match of the first round! He was kind of famous in middle school! With a face only a mother could love! From the hero course, it's Bakugo Katsuki!"
Yuki flopped on the left seat of Iida. A frown played upon his features.
"VERSUS-- she's the one i'm rooting for! From the hero course, it's Uraraka Ochaco!"
Mic so obviously stated his favorite.
"What was the strategy you were going to tell Uraraka earlier?" Iida asked.
"It wasn't much, really. Kacchan is strong. In a real close combat fight, he has almost no openings, and the more he moves, the more he sweats making his Explosion quirk stronger. He can use the blast from his explosions to move around in the air, but if Uraraka touches Kacchan and uses her quirk to make him float, then she would have the upper hand." Midriya explained.
"She told me she has a plan." Yuki spoke up. The two turning to him.
"Believe in her and watch her. She'll do just fine."
"Eighth Match... START!!"
From the get go, Uraraka kept her posture low and ran towards Bakugo.
"Bakugo won't want Uraraka to get close to him.' Iida replied to Midoriya. Yuki only half listened and tried to figure out her plan.
Bakugo stretched his right arm back, Right attack!
As Uraraka seemed about to dodge, he released a blast before she could get any closer.
"Uraraka!"
Yuki bit onto his thumb. Watching as the smoke began to clear up a bit.
"Oh, she made her jacket float and sent it over there?!" Mic commented as Uraraka emerged from the smoke behind Bakugo. "She did it in an instant, too!"
Before she could reach him he swung his arm back around and released another explosion, sending her further back.
"He moved after he saw her?!"
"With that reaction time, it doesn't matter if there's a smokescreen."
He's quick. He's agial. He's smart about his movements more now than during the first time I saw him in combat... if he wins I'll have to think this more thoroughly if I make it past Tokoyami...
Bakugo was throwing her around with his explosions like a rag doll every time she tried to get near him.
There has to be a point of weakness... but where?
Yuki respected Uraraka. She was driven and a hard worker. And at the time when his classmates were beginning to feel sorry for her he wouldn't let his belief in her being able to execute her plan waver.
It's a pretty brash plan on her part but...
He glanced up above the arena, where pieces of it floated awaiting her release.
"Uraraka keeps attacking without rest, but... this is..."
Many murmurs across the stadium began as they ridiculed Bakugo for his actions.
"Hey! How can you say you want to be a hero like that?! If there's such a huge difference in you abilities, then hurry up and send her out of bounds!"
"Stop bullying and playing with the poor girl!"
"Yeah! That's right!"
"There's booing from the crowd...!" Mic began, "But honestly, I also feel the sa-- AH! An elbow?! What're ya doin'?!"
Yuki kept watching. Hoping Uraraka could still have the strength after her stunt.
"Was that a pro saying he's playing around? How many years?!" Aizawa asked sternly through the mic.
"If you're saying that with a straight face, there's no point in you watching anymore, so go home! Go home, and look into changing careers!"
The smoke began to settle down as both were catching their breath.
"Bakugo is being careful because he's acknowledged the strength of his opponent who has made it this far. It's because he's doing everything he can to win that he can't go easy on her or let his guard down."
"RELEASE!" Uraraka finally cried out.
"A meteor shower." Yuki grinned.
"She had a desperate plan like that up her sleeve?"
"No." Yuki corrected. "She had it planned from the beginning."
With the debris falling, Uraraka made a run for it towards Bakugo. Whether he would be busy dodging or counterattacking, an opening was sure to happen.
Uraraka, you can be just as crazy as Midoriya sometimes.
As soon as she was about to reach him, Bakugo released a huge explosion. Sending the heat waves into the audience.
"B-Bakugo delivers a satisfying explosion! He blasts boldly through Uraraka's secret plan!"
Yuki watched as Uraraka tried to stand up again, only to fall on her knees. Her will to fight was there however,
"She's reached her physical limit." he whispers.
Bakugo stopped before he could storm at her.
"Uraraka's down!"
"She's down..."
"She's passed her limit since a long time ago..."
Yuki nodded solemnly as they all watched her begin to crawl towards Bakugo before Midnight finally stepped in...
"Uraraka is out of commission... Bakugo advances to the second round!"
Without a word, Yuki stood up and began to head to the nurses office.
"The first round is all done! Let's move on to the next round quickly after a short break!"
"You did well, Uraraka." Yuki smiled as he walked in the office.
"I really blew it didn't I?" Uraraka smiled.
Yuki didn't return the smile.
"Was that a pun...?"
"Huh....! N-No, no I didn't mean for it to be a pun!" she blushed at her play at words, waving her arms around.
"I've already healed her Yuki-kun, no need for you to be here." Recovery Girl told him.
"Yeah? Well Mr. Self-destruct is up next so maybe I'll spare myself the torture of watching him break every bone he has and just wait for him here." he pouted, shoving his handing into his pants pocket.
"I'll get going now, thank you very much." Uraraka bowed before leaving.
"Oh! Uraraka!" Yuki called out to her before she left.
"Yea?"
"You should definitely make that one of your power moves."
"W-wha--"
"Meteor Shower! It's pretty cool when you see it in action."
She stared at him for a while before firmly nodding. "It would be a cool power move."
"Make sure you hydrate and eat something."
"Yes, sir!" she playfully saluted before leaving.
"Yuki you should go support your friends." Recovery Girl told him as she began to throw away dirty cotton swabs.
"No. I think I'll just stand by on the tunnel and ride the medic bots here with him." crossed arms and nose in the air, Yuki really didn't want to see Midoriya's fight with Todoroki. He was scared for both his friend and what things could happen after.
"What makes you so sure he'll end up coming in here? What if he only gets minor injuries this time around?" Recovery girl asked as she sat back on her wheely chair.
"When has he not?" he retorted, earning a look from his sensei.
"What?! It's true and you know it! Chiyo- sensei, if he keeps this up we'll have to tell him about OUR limits. And I'm not just referring to us as doctors or nurses. Our quirks--"
"I know Yuki. But what can we do? We can only heal for as long as we can."
Yuki gripped onto his arms, "Chiyo-sensei... I'm terrified of that happening again and you know it."
"That was one time--"
"And I let someone lose their life."
"You were a child, Yuki-kun."
"They were too..."
She stayed quiet before firmly stating,"We must believe Midoriya is looking for a solution. How long do you think you have?"
"It's been almost 2 and a half months of healing him back to back, day after day, if he doesn't stop now, I don't know when it'll be the last time I'm able to heal him."
"S-sorry Mina... you're technically stronger than me so I had to come up with a plan..." he admitted as he held her up.
