"Two matches of the semifinals!"
Okay, You've thought this through, Yuki. All you have to do is dodge and get as close to him as possible...
Yuki made eye contact with Bakugo. A sneer played along his face.
Please let this work.
"BAKUGO KATSUKI! Versus--"
Yuki shook off as much tension off his shoulders as he entered the arena.
"SATORI YUKI!"
Feeling of being stared at, Yuki glanced towards Bakugo who seemed to be analyzing him. Yuki in return eyed his shoulder that seemed to be tense.
Could use that against him.
"This match will certainly be interesting! With Bakugo's quirk being Explosion and Satori's Healing-- They're on the opposite side of the fighting spectrum!" Mic shouted.
"That may be true but regardless of not having a quirk that can be used offensively or defensively, Satori Yuki has proven himself by making it this far." Aizawa piped in.
Please don't size me up. I'm not ready for that pressure.
"I'm not going to fall for your tricks like Racoon eyes and Round face." Bakugo spoke up as he continued to glare at the frail looking boy.
"Racoo-- Oh! Mina. Well, I honestly didn't think I'd make past that round... or the last but here I am..." Yuki shrugged.
"The two are now on stage! Let's get this show started, Ready?!"
"I won't hold back." Bakugo gritted as he took his stance.
Sighing Yuki mentally braced himself, taking a stance as well, "Neither will I."
"START!"
Yuki didn't wait for his opponent to enter his range, he too ran towards Bakugo to meet him halfway.
I'll use my left this time!
Bakugo thought as he pulled back on his right to use as decoy.
It doesn't matter what arm you swing first... out of the corner of his eye, Yuki noticed the small sparks on his left hand.
Your non-dominant side will always fall short.
Bakugo switched to his left hand and as he was about to blast onto Yuki's face, he felt his wrist twist inwards.
His blast met his face.
"SATORI DEFLECTED BAKUGO'S EXPLOSION!!"
Yuki held his breath as the smoke surrounded both boys and went in for a right hook.
The blonde saw but still being shocked at what had happened didn't have enough time to react.
Landing a right hook onto Bakugo, he stumbled back.
Quickly recovering he met Yuki's eyes. A clam like expression only riled up the blonde.
"Are you playing around with me?!"
Yuki didn't reply. Only going back into his original stance ready to take on Bakugo.
"Satori seems to be waiting for Bakuko to attack first! But after the first hit being deflected back to him, Bakugo seems to be wary of the Healer!"
The audience's cheering and Mic's commentary sounded muffled to Yuki. He had to focus on Bakugo if he wanted to be able to dodge as many of his blasts as possible. Yuki took note of the way Bakugo's feet were positioned.
He's coming--
Bakugo threw his arms back and propelled himself towards the guarded boy, "DIE!"
At the last second, as Bakugo was falling straight towards him, he ducked and went under him avoiding the blast.
Bakugo quickly turned around, landing on the floor. Yuki was no longer there.
"Where--"
A hand grabbed onto his right arm, pulling it back as he was pushed down.
Yuki put as much of his weight onto Bakugo's back, holding his arm against it, palm away from him as well.
"Give up."
"Like hell I am!" he rolled over onto his left side, angled his free hand upwards and sent Yuki back with a blast.
"Shit." Yuki huffed.
"Enough tricks! Come at me with all you got!"
I need to end this fast or his explosions will get more pow--
"You're thinking too much!" Bakugo grinned as his right hand made contact with Yuki's shirt.
Yuki hadn't noticed until he was right in front of him.
FUCK--
"Bakugo lands a hit on Satori sending him only feet away from being out of bounds!"
"I said to come at me with all you got you fucking extra!" his eyes narrowed dangerously and a wide wickedly grin caused Yuki to chuckle
He won't take a win with being out of bounds. A fist fight is what he's looking for but I'm not physically able to handle as much as he probably can. But--
Yuki pulled his sweater sleeves up past his elbows. "I can try to entertain you."
Yuki ran towards him this time, Bakugo full on believing he would go for the face and brought his arms up to block. In a split second Yuki changed his aim and landed a hit on the blond's gut.
Bakugo grabbed onto Yuki's sweater from behind and pulled him around, throwing him to the side like a rag doll. Yuki landed on his feet and slid only a couple feet away.
"So you can fight! Then what's it with you pulling tricks!?" Bakugo charged, explosions in hand.
"Unlike you," Yuki ran forward, "I need to have a plan!"
Yuki latched onto Bakugo's right arm before turning his back, bringing the right arm over his shoulder, causing the feral blonde to roll over the healer and land flat on his back.
"Satori dodges once again! This time bringing Bakugo to the floor!"
"Tch!" he immediately releases a blast which Yuki quickly let's go of his arm and jumps away narrowly making it out.
Up on his feet Bakugo aimed both palms towards Yuki. "I'll end this quickly! Stun Grenade!"
A large blinding light came from his palms before exploding.
"Hey, There's smoke everywhere."
Yuki heard a soft grunt on his right.
Bakugo spotted him and threw himself at Yuki. Only...
The sweater trick again!?
"Think you can keep tricking me?!" Bakugo cried out into the smoke.
Yuki was listening... nothing.
He was unsure whether Bakugo was also waiting for him to come out from behind or if he knew exactly where he was and was planning to attack again.
"Stop hiding!"
Above!
"Geh!" Bakugo grabbed onto Yuki's throat, bringing both down.
"It's over!" a victorious smirk on his face. Yuki only smirks.
"Sure."
Flinging his legs up he tightened his grip on Bakugo's wrist and lower arm earning hiss in response.
I was right!
Yuki flipped their positions so he was somewhat on top but Bakugo threw him over grabbing onto his shirt.
"I'm not falling for that ag--" he almost choked as he caught a glimpse of the scars littering Yuki's lower back.
"Let go!" Yuki twisted his around and tackled Bakugo.
"They've started to roll around! Bakugo seemingly wants more of hand-on-hand fighting!"
Yuki landed a punch before he too was punched in the gut.
They rolled around on the ground as they attempted to best the other.
That was until Yuki noticed the look on Bakugo changed as the hole on his shirt from his first attack made it clearly visible of more scars.
And they weren't from his explosions.
Taking the chance, Bakugo rolled onto Yuki once again, hand hovering over his opponent's face, huffing.
Yuki's right arm was being held outward. Bakugo's hand above his face and his weight on him.
A small laugh left his lips.
Bakugo didn't let his guard down. Having fallen for the boy's playful taunting tricks, his grip on Yuki's arm tightened.
"Ow! Alright, Alright, I give. I give up." Yuki sighed.
"Satori Yuki gives up! Bakugo Katsuki advances to the finals!" Midnight announces.
Cheers erupting around them.
"You can get off me now." Yuki reminded Bakugo who seemed to be in deep thought.
Bakugo slowly got up and offered a hand to Yuki, shockingly.
"You're not as weak as I thought." the blonde grumbled.
Yuki sat up smiling, "And your hands smell nicer than your attitude."
"WAT DID YA SAY?!"
"Nothing."
"Too bad for Yuki-kun. It kinda looked like he had a chance at beating him."
"I knew Yuki-kun was good at close combat but I didn't expect to hold his own against Kaachan."
"He probably could have won if he continued to dodge!"
"Hey or maybe tackle him like he did with Tokoyami."
"Bakugo for sure would've blown up then!"
The three laughed at the image.
Yuki made sure to zip up his sports uniform sweater. Stupid Bakugo, blowing up a hole on my shirt. I'm gonna make sure I get him back for it.
Making it back to the stands, Midoriya was the first person to greet him.
"Yuki that was really amazing!"
Yuki stared down at his freckled friend in a taunting manner, "I know~ I somehow didn't break a single bone either~ Isn't that cool!?"
A shiver ran down his spine, "Y-Yeah... Of course."
"Yuki-kun, you were so cool! Holding your own against Bakugo for that long!" Uraraka praised.
"Thank you, Uraraka-chan! It wasn't much~"
"It's finally the last battle of the U.A. High School sports festival! The top of the first years will be decided with this one match!" Mic shouted.
Yuki took a seat beside Uraraka, still somewhat mad at Midoriya.
"The final, so to speak! From the hero course, Todoroki Shoto! Versus-- Also from the hero course, Bakugo Katsuki!"
"They really don't let them rest much between matches." Yuki mumbled, lifting his sweater up to his nose, sliding into the seat.
Uraraka looked over and noticed how tired her friend looked.
He'd been running back and forth; from Recovery Girl's office to the stands, and then to the stage for his fights.
"You sure look tired." she chuckled.
"Thank you. I try my best." Yuki whispered, feeling his eyelids get heavy.
If he was as exhausted as he thinks he is--
I should be able to get some shut eyes for a couple minutes...
Also immediately the stadium shook and the temperature dropped. The sound of explosions becoming a bit faint.
Yeah... just a small nap... nothing much could happen now.
And so young Satori Yuki managed to drown out the sound of Mic's commentary, the cheers from the audience, the cool temperatures, and the screams of a certain explosive blond.
Okay, You've thought this through, Yuki. All you have to do is dodge and get as close to him as possible...
