"Lord Explosion Murder!!" Bakugo shouted.
Once again presenting his 'hero' name.
"No, that's still no good."
Luckily Midnight hadn't been opposed to Yuki's hero name.
"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names, we'll go back to talking about the internships." Aizawa only zipped his sleeping bag halfway down.
"They will last for a week. As for where you'll have them, those who had offers from pros will be given your own lists, so you can choose from those yourself."
He held up a sheet of paper. "Those who didn't have offers will choose from among forty agencies around the country that will be accepting our interns."
"For example, Thirteen would be focused on rescues from accidents and disasters more than fighting villains." Midnight explained.
"Think carefully before you choose."
"Yes, Sir!"
The school bell rang.
"I wanna fight in Urban Areas!"
"I hope I can intern at a place with floods. I wonder if there are any?"
"Turn in your choices before the weekend." Aizawa added.
"We've only got two days?!"
"Make your decision efficiently." was their homeroom teacher's response. "Dismissed."
"Hey guys, have you decided what pro agency you're going to yet?" Ashido lazily asked.
"I'm going to Mt. Lady!" the perv stated proudly.
"Mineta, you're thinking about something perverted, aren't you?" Tsuyu bluntly asked.
"Of course not!"
"Ashido, you made it pretty well into the tournament, too. It's weird that you didn't get any offers." Ojior pointed out.
"You said it." she let out a whine.
Yuki looked away. It probably wasn't his fault she didn't get offers but it sure felt like it.
"Deku have you decided already?" Uraraka asked.
Yuki glanced at the boy who was hunched over his desk.
"Oi!" Yuki shouted, chucking one of his erasers at the muttering boy.
"Oh, sorry! I was lost in thou-- Ow!" the eraser successfully hit his forehead.
"You're really thinking carefully about this, huh?" Tsuyu pointed out.
"Actually, I've already decided!"
"Really?"
"Where?"
Yuki was just listening in. This was a no brainer for him and he honestly didn't mind what Recovery Girl had planned for his internship week.
"Battle Hero: Gunhead's agency." Uraraka stated proudly.
Oh~ I'm sure they'll teach her lots there.
"Huh? Gunhead's a huge battle type! You're going there, Uraraka?" Midoriya asked, clearly worried.
"Yup! I got an offer from them!"
Yuki felt slightly proud at the confidence of her choice.
"Really? I thought you were trying to be a hero like Thirteen." Midoriya added.
"Ultimately, yes. But fighting Bakugo at the sports festival made me think the stronger I get the more possibilities I'll have!" She stated, throwing out a punch.
"If I only do what I want, I'll have a narrower perspective!"
"I see."
Yuki smiled. She knew exactly where she needed to improve.
"By the way this has been bugging me for a while but... You're trembling, aren't you?"
Yuki whipped his head towards them.
"Oh this? It's air chair exercise."
"Air Chair?!"
"Don't tell me you do that all through class?" Ashido exclaimed.
Yuki stood up and began heading over.
"There's no way!"
"That's such an old-fashioned exercise." Mineta piped in.
"What are you saying? The isometric muscle contraction of the air chair means it's an easy way to train without moving!" Ojiro admired.
They continued to watch as Midoriya shook.
"Midoriya-kun~" Yuki slammed his hand onto the freckled boy's shoulder.
If he was shaking because of the air chair he was surly now shaking out of terror.
"Y-Yuki-kun!"
Yuki smiled and went to his eye level. "I sure hope you're giving your body enough rest."
"Y-yeah! I-I am!"
"Really now?~"
"YES!!"
Yuki let his smile fall and warned. "I'm sure Recovery Girl told you right?"
"Yuki no longer has permission to heal anyone as of this moment. Am I clear?"
Midoriya recalled before nodding.
Yuki patted the boy's shoulder. "Make sure you at least skip a class between your air chairs."
"Yes."
"Where are you planning on going, Yuki-kun." Uraraka eagerly asked.
The groups had been talking while his conversation with Midoriya was taking place and fortunately didn't notice the tension between the boys.
"Actually, I won't be interning under anyone." Yuki shrugged.
"You're not?!"
"No. Recovery Girl wants me to expand my social network with Hospitals across the country."
"So you're going to be going to two places?" Midoriya asked. Giving his air chair a bit of rest.
Yuki turned his head away,"More like four."
"Four?! That's too much for a week!"Ashido asked.
"Will they at least be near each other?" Tsuyu asked.
"No, I'll be traveling just about as much as Recovery Girl does." The healer shoved his hands into his pockets.
"Healing quirks have it tough, huh?" Orjio grimaced.
Yuki softly smiled. "I guess so. They are rare after all."
Recovery Girl had warned him ahead of time, as did Aizawa, about the upcoming week. Yuki really didn't mind and was grateful to have the chance to visit other hospitals besides the ones in Mustafu. He'd only stayed in the city because he wasn't exactly at the age to buy a house or move out on his own without a guardian.
"Iida-kun," Yuki called out to his friend before he could leave.
"Yes?"
Yuki couldn't help but notice how tense his friend's posture was. More than usual.
"Are you okay?" Yuki blurted out.
Iida was somewhat of guard, but not quite enough to let what he was feeling to be noticeable.
Iida smiled. "Don't worry Yuki-kun! I'm completely fine."
Yuki watched his friend leave. I'm not stupid, dumbass.
Yuki felt asking about his brother's situation wasn't appropriate. And from what he heard from the news, the type of healing his brother would need had a 30% success rate if he were to attempt it.
This Hero Killer: Stain had a kill list. 17 dead and 23 beyond healing. Two of which during his time off school Yuki had been able to save.. Though they were going to have to go through years of physical therapy.
Yuki wasn't one to follow the patterns for villains but when there were many being targeted like this, he couldn't help the nauseous feeling settling in his gut.
The day finally arrived.
"You all have your costumes, right?" Aizawa asked.
Class 1A was gathered at the train station ready to begin their internships.
"Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them in public. Don't drop them or anything." Aizawa instructed.
"Yessir!" Ashido cheered.
"Speak clearly! It's 'Yes, Sir,' Ashido." their homeroom teacher scolded.
"Yes, sir..."
Yuki had really hoped they could wear casual clothing on their way to their destination but unfortunately uniforms were needed in order to look presentable.
"Make sure you mind your manners with the heroes at your internships! Off with you, now."
"Yes, sir!"
Aizawa-sensei kinda reminds me of--
"Iida-kin!" Midoriya shouted out.
Yuki was about to head over to them but Aizawa called out to him before he could.
"Yes?"
"Recovery Girl asked me to make sure to give you this." Aizawa sighed, pulling out a lanyard with an ID hanging from it.
"What is it?" Yuki asked, examining it.
"She says so it's easy for the doctors and nurses to quickly identify you." Aizawa explained putting it over Yuki's head before the boy could do it himself.
"She's really going to work me to the bone isn't she." Yuki mumbled nervously, mostly to himself.
"From what I know of your previous volunteering, you should be able to handle it."
Yuki looked up to Aizawa before smiling. "Thank you, Aizawa-sensei. See you next week!"
"Yeah."
It took Yuki a little over an hour to get to his first destination. Come to find it was a Children's Hospital.
Upon walking into the building he was immediately given a teal coat. His time there was spent not only healing but also learning protocols he hadn't been exposed too while in Hosu.
After only two days, it was time for him to head to Tokyo.
"You must be Caladrius. Recovery Girl informed us you were going to be here almost an hour ago." A doctor stated, handing Yuki a folder.
"Yeah, there was an issue with the trai--"
"I don't want to hear excuses. Here's your first patient of the day."
Yuki hardened his gaze, "Yes, sir."
It was only 20mins not an hour.
Unfortunately for Yuki, the Doctor was in charge of him for the time he was going to spend there.
"Too slow!"
"Too sloppy!"
"Indecisive!"
"Incorrect!"
"NO!"
"I'll Fix It!" Yuki lost count of how many times he'd bowed in apology for things that were very much out of his control.
But I'm used to this.
He would think as he continued to rush from room to room. From the ER to where patients were still recovering. The Doc, who he hadn't even caught his name, was quite literally making him run from floor to floor, west wing, to east wing, all the way even to the Basement for something he couldn't remember. And it was less than five hours ago!
"Caladrius-san?"
"Yes!" Yuki immediately snapped up in attention.
He'd only sat down momentarily to take a break.
"You're free to take a break if you like."
He'd been in this hospital for less than 10 hours and he was already exhausted.
"Doc really is piling on the work more than the rest of us. I'm sorry." the nurse apologized.
Yuki felt somewhat dizzy. "No, no, no. It's fine. It's probably because I'm only meant to be here for two days."
"That's still not--"
"I'm fine. Really." He reassured her. "I'll just take an hour break-- what time is it?"
"It's almost 2pm."
"Then I'll go for a walk. I'll be sure to be back before 3."
"This is more difficult than the Children's Hospital." Yuki huffed. Hands in the white coats pockets.
He was sure the Doc was just being a hardass and piling on his work on top of the boy's.
"I should probably let Recovery Girl know." Yuki sighed.
People were still at work so the streets on this side of Tokyo weren't as busy.
"WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" A voice growled.
Yuki quickly turned to see the feral blond in a defensive pose.
Yuki brought up a hand to cover his unsuccessful attempt at hiding his amusement. "Your hair!"
"A friend of yours?" A man Yuki recognized as Best Jeanest asked.
"LIKE HELL!" Bakugo snapped, hair popping back up into its usual spiky shape.
Yuki absolutely lost it. "BahahahaKugo! Your Hahahair!"
"SHUT YER TRAP!"
"Bakugo it is not poli--"
"YOU BETTER NOT SAY ANYTHING YA--"
Yuki bent over in laughter. Stress falling off his shoulders.
"Why are you here anyways?!"
Yuki finally managed to calm down a bit to reply. "I'm on break." he chuckled.
"I'm sorry, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Satori Yuki, and my Hero name is Caladrius." Yuki smiled, feeling a bit better.
"Beast Jeanest. I must admit you held your ground against this boy well during the Sports Festival."
"Thank you very much."
"If you don't mind me asking, where are you interning?" Best Jeanest asked.
"I'm actually self-interning. Recovery girl has me going from hospital to hospital, city to city. I'll only be on this side of the city until tomorrow, sir."
"Really? I must say you don't seem to behave like your friend here."
"We're not friends! He's just another extra!"
"Yes, I apologize on his behalf. He does get a bit out of control but he's working as hard as everyone else to become a dependable hero. Thank you for taking care of him." Yuki bowed politely, shocking both for the sudden apology.
Shit, I got used to saying sorry--
Before any of the heroes on patrol could say anything Yuki's phone began to ring, "Satoru Yuki speaking, how can I help you?" Yuki quickly replied.
"Yuki-kun! I know you just got on break but we need extra hands right now, how fast can you--"
"I'll be there in three, I'm on my way." Yuki frowned before hanging up.
"Sorry I gotta go. Nice running into you! I'll leave him in your care." Yuki bowed once again. "See ya, Baka-kun!"
"OI!" and with that the hero and the hero in training watched as the boy ran back the direction they'd seen him come from.
"Your friend works hard." Best Jeanest commented as they continued to patrol.
He'd fix Bakugo's hair when they returned to the agency.
"I guess." Bakugo grunted.
...Had he just started his break?
Once again presenting his 'hero' name.
"No, that's still no good."
