Yuki didn't bother with saying goodbye to the idiot trio.
He didn't know if they would survive in his presence at the moment. Not after restraining himself the day before and settling with a very stern lecture. Particularly on Midoriya.
He set off for his final stop of the week which was somewhere near Uraraka's interning agency.
The doctor that would be supervising him heard about the man-child Doc, who shamelessly piled on his own work onto Yuki, and was furious.
"No Doctor or Nurse with any integrity would do that."
Yuki was thankful they were more lenient. He was after all, just a teenager.
Uraraka: Yuki-kun! Have you heard from Deku?
It took his whole being to not chuck his phone out a 5th floor window.
Yuki: Yeah, he'll live.
Uraraka: So he was hurt?!
Yuki took a deep breath. Again.
Yuki: He'll live. Iida-kun and Todoroki are fine too
Uraraka: thank goodness!
"Oh~ What's this~ Is Caladrius-san texting a girlfriend?" A nurse teased.
Yuki ignored her and proceeded to ask how Uraraka's internship was going.
"Don't ignore me Caladrius-san!"
"Nurse Arashi, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't stick your nose in my personal life." Yuki replied, snapping his phone closed.
The nurse scoffed. "I am not."
"You are. Are those for me?" Yuki asked, pointing to the file in her hands.
Sighing the nurse handed them over. "You're too serious for a 13 year--"
"Fifteen."
"Sure. Doc said after you're done with this one to call it a day."
Yuki nodded looking through the file. "Anything else?"
"Have any gossi--"
"Good day."
"You're no fun to tease." She sighed.
"Thank You."
"Yuki-kun!"
Said boy snapped his head up to see his bubbly friend waving her arms in the air.
"Hey! Did I keep you waiting?"
Earlier Uraraka had asked Yuki to join her on an expedition to a coffee shop Gunhead swore to his life she needed to try out. And not wanting to go alone she convinced Yuki to come along. Not that he had anything else planned.
"So where is this mystical coffee land you speak of?" Yuki asked, hands in his sweaters pocket.
The sun wasn't quite yet setting so there was still time until it closed.
"He said somewhere around here... do you have maps on your phone?" Uraraka wondered looking up from the piece of paper.
Smiling Yuki pulled out his phone, "Nope. I have a flip phone."
Her shoulders fell a little. "Aw~ I'm not familiar with the streets here." She sighed.
"Do you know the name of it?"
"No. Gunhead couldn't remember since it's usually someone at the front desk who gets the coffee."
Yuki stared at Uraraka's slight frown before smiling.
"I guess that just means we'll be looking around the shops then!"
She looked up at him still feeling slightly guilty.
"Sorr--"
"Don't apologize! Come on. I'm sure there are other shops we can explore as we look for it."
"What have you been up to?" Yuki thought it best to talk about other things as they wandered around.
"I've learned a lot in four days already! I feel like I can punch through a wall!" she exclaimed, bringing her fists up.
"Really? What have you been doing?"
"Mostly hand-to-hand combat. Gunhead isn't going easy on me either and I think it's speeding up the process." she smiled up to him.
"Maybe we can train together after internships."
"That's right! You can fight pretty well too!" She gasped. "Would it bother you if we trained together?"
"Not at all! I need a sparring buddy. I need to brush up on close combat too."
"That's great! OH!" her finger shot past him.
Yuki whipped his head around "What?!"
"I think that's it! Gunhead said it had a sakura tree painting on the windows."
She quickly took out the piece of paper with the directions and address on it.
Yuki peeked over her shoulder and looked up at the coffee shop.
Sure enough it was.
"--he also taught me how to dodge and handle someone with a knife."
"That's scary." Yuki smiled nervously.
"It was. I didn't know what to do the first time he ran towards me. I was sure I was going to get stabbed."
"At least you dodged."
Uraraka took a sip of her drink before shaking her head.
"That's the thing!" she whined. "I didn't~"
"Uraraka!"
"I know, I know! Gunhead swerved before it did thought~" her face buried in her hands in embarrassment.
Yuki couldn't help but also cover his face with second hand embarrassment.
"I hope you got better." He teased while taking a sip of his coffee.
"I did!"
"Sure..."
"I swear I did!"
Yuki only laughed.
"So what have you been up to?" Uraraka asked, leaning back in her seat.
Yuki shrugged. "Stayed at a children's hospital for two days. Then went somewhere near Tokyo where Bakugo was intern--"
"Did you run into him?"
Yuki nodded. "I did. But only once. Unfortunately I got some douchebag of a supervisor. Making me do his work instead."
"He didn't!"
"Oh but he did." Yuki frowned while drinking more of the coffee.
"Then the whole thing with Iida happened--"
"I heard Endeavor caught the Hero Killer! Is that true?" Uraraka with eyes wide asked.
Yuki sighed before nodding.
"Beat him up real bad too. What happened happened."
"Wow. And you had to run across town?!"
"Yeah. Not part of the plan for me to go there but they needed me so," Yuki shrugged.
"Healers have it hard don't they... Recovery Girl seems to travel a lot too."
"That's what happens when quirks like these are extremely rare. From what I remember, Recovery girl mentioned, there were only three, including her, who had a healing type quirk when she was our age."
"REALLY?! In the world?!"
"In Japan. They passed away a couple years ago, so it's only her now."
"Wow... how many do you think there are now?"
"Who knows, I only found I had a quirk when I sang the Pain go away song to someone as a kid."
Urarka nodded and they both settled down into a comfortable silence.
That was until something caught his eye.
"Is that Yaoyorozu-san?!" his eyes wide, mouth agape.
"Wher--" In the corner of the coffee shop was a tv showing a commercial.
"It is Momo!" Uraraka gasped.
The two simply stared at the screen in awe and confusion.
The Internships ended two days later. And then followed the daily routine of school.
"Seriously?! Seriously, Bakugo?!" Sero, Kirishima and Yuki laughed the second they caught a glimpse of him.
"Stop laughing!!" Bakugo shouted visibly shaking.
"I don't know Bakugo-kun! A side part hairstyle suits you!" Yuki smiled, bending over from the inevitable pain of laughter.
"My hair's gotten used to it, so it won't go back even after I wash it! Hey, Stop Laughing! I'll kill you!"
"I'd like to see you try, Side-Part Boy!" Sero shouted.
"WHAT'D YA SAY?!"
His hair popped back up.
"It's back!"
"OH Dear Gods!" Yuki laughed harder at the action of the hair.
"Stop Laughing!"
"I can't~" Yuki groaned hunched over from the pain. "Even after you told me to not say anythin--"
He resumed his fit of laughter.
"OI!"
"You three were there, right?"
Yuki's laugh subsided at the mention of the idiot trio.
"Oh, yeah! The Hero Killer!" Sero exclaimed.
"I"m glad you guys made it out alive! Seriously." Kirishima added.
Both being held by the back of their collars by Bakugo.
"I was worried." Yaoyorozu said.
"I heard Endeavor saved you, right?"
"That's amazing! As expected from the number two hero!" Hagakure told them with an awe to her tone.
"Yeah. He saved us." Todoroki monotony replied.
Yuki scoffed.
"Yeah." Midoriya agreed.
"I saw on the news that the hero killer was connected to the League of Villains. Imagine someone that scary coming to USJ freaks me out." Ojiro admitted.
That's on PTSD, Ojiro-kun.
"He is pretty scary, but did you see the video, Ojiro?" Kaminari asked.
"Video?"
What video?
"You mean of the hero killer?"
"Yeah. Seeing that, you can see he's really single-minded and, like, tenacious. Doesn't it make you think he's cool?"
"Kaminari!" Midoriya shouted in surprise.
"Huh? Oh, li-- Sorry!" the lightning boy was quick to cover his mouth.
The Hero Killer being...cool?
Yuki eyed Kaminari as the conversation shifted to the methods the hero killer took.
If people find that man cool... There are obviously other problems in society.
"Now, it is time to commence class! Everyone, take your seats!"
Hero class would be taking place out in one of the training grounds.
All Might stood there with his signature smile.
"Anyway, we'll start now. Right. It's hero basic training!"
Duh.
"Long time no see, boys and girls!" He welcomed them. "How've you been?"
"For this time's hero basic training-- Since you've all just gotten back from your internships, we'll have some fun with a rescue training race!"
Oh god. Not again.
"If we are doing rescue training then shouldn't we do it at USJ?" Iida asked, raising his hand.
"That place is for training for disasters. Do you remember what I said? That's right! I said 'Race'! This is Field Gamma! A dense area filled with factories laid out like an intricate labyrinth. You'll break into 5-person groups and go through the training one group at a time."
I'm going to break a bone...I can feel it.
"When I send out a distress signal from somewhere inside, you'll start at once from the outskirts! A race to see who will rescue me first! Of course, keep damage to buildings to a minimum."
All Might added pointing over to Bakugo.
"Don't point at me!"
"All right, first group, get in place!"
Midoriya, Iida, Ojiro, Sero, and Ashido.
"Iida hasn't healed properly has he?"
"He should just watch."
"His arms were hurt, not his legs." Yuki pointed out.
"This group has everyone in the class with good mobility."
"Hmm, perhaps Midoriya is at a slight disadvantage."
"That's true. Honestly, I'm still not sure how good he is."
I don't know. He's pretty good at breaking his bones.
"And whenever he does something, he always gets badly injured..."
Yuki grit his teeth. A clear scowl to the rest of his classmates.
"Who do you think'll win? I think Sero'll be first!" Kirishima asked.
"But Ojiro's there, too." Kaminari replied.
"I think it'll be Ashido. She's really athletic!" the purple thing spoke.
"Deku will be last!" Bakugo stated proudly.
"What a nice prediction, Bakugo." Yuki deadpanned.
"Huh?!"
"Nothing."
"Start!"
An alarm went off and the first five began their task.
"I think they should change the alarm from a sound to a flash of light." Yuki muttered.
"Why is that?"
Yuki looked over to Bakugo who kept his eyes on the screen, displaying their classmates.
Yuki smiled a little and continued. "Sound does travel slower than light. Meaning not all of them heard it 'at the same time' as All Might told them."
Bakugo only grunted in response.
"See, look!" Kirishima cheered. In a place all jumbled together like this, it's standard practice to go up!"
"Which means, Sero's got an advantage since he's good in the air, huh?" Shoji asked.
Suddenly a flash of green sped past Sero, catching not only tape boy but the class in surprise.
"Little Booger finally learned how to control it, huh?!" Yuki outwardly snarled.
But inside he was celebrating and relieved.
"Wow! Midoriya!"
"What's with those moves?"
"Wow! He's hopping...like..."
Bakugo!
Yuki peeked at the boy from his peripheral vision.
The blond was clearly distressed and frustrated.
The 1st round ended with Midoriya misstepping and Sero in first place.
As Yuki would have guessed he'd placed 4th in his round, with Aoyama coming in last simply because of his stomach aches.
They were back in the lockers and Yuki was taking his sweet time as always. Removing everything at a pace he knew the rest of the boys would be leaving before he even reached the last of his bottom layers.
"That's was some hard training."
"Our first class in a while made me sweat!" Aoyama sighed, wiping his forehead.
"I need to work on my mobility." Kirishima concluded.
"You must compensate for it by gathering information." Tokoyami advised.
"That'll put me a step behind everyone. I'm jealous of guys like you and Sero." Kaminari admitted.
Only to receive a smile from Sero.
"Hey! I discovered something crazy!" the perv whispered. Loud enough to catch everyone's attention.
"Come here! Look at this hole, Shawshank! It's probably thanks to the efforts of those who came before us! Next door is, you know--"
"Stop this, Mineta!" Iida quickly cut him off.
"Peeping is definitely a criminal act!"
Yuki took the time of distraction to change his shirt. At least he's good for distractions...
"My little Mineta is already a criminal act!" the perv stated peeling off the poster.
Yuki felt like gagging. "Gross!"
"Yaoyorozu's ample yaoyoro-boobs! Ashido's slender waist! Hagakure's floating underwear! Uraraka's fine uraraka-body!"
Yuki felt a wave of disgust form in the pit of his stomach.
"Asui's unexpected boodie--"
Yuki couldn't help but start shaking. From the looks of it the perv had been stabbed in the eye by Jiro's earjack.
Calm down... Yuki tried to soothe himself.
His shoulders were too tense
Arms began to ache at a distant memory.
I'm safe now.
