Also if it wasn't obvious enough already Sugarman: Sato is not in this story. Yuki is in his place for this story.
The Final exams came.
Yuki was beyond prepared. The written exam was easier than it should have been...
At least easier than what he was currently going through.
"RUN!" Yuki pulled along Kirishima, almost twisting his ankle in the process.
He made a quick turn which gave them some time to catch their breath.
"Why did it have to be Cementos?!" Yuki huffed.
"I have no idea!" his partner for the practical part of the exam huffed.
They hadn't been able to get past Cementos and going head on was not only going to tire out Kirishima but ultimately leave Yuki defenseless and useless.
So their plan was to avoid Cementos as much as possible and slowly make their way past him towards the other side of the make-shift city.
"I'm not made for this!" Yuki shouted as he threw himself away from Cemento's area of reach.
"What are we gonna do? We're just being led into a corner. We won't make it in time!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"I would have taken the robots any day! Who in their right mind thought fighting teachers was a great idea." Yuki cried out as he looked down at his watch.
"I thought they were supposed to be handycapped?!" Kirishima cried out as they began to run again.
"The compressed weights only work if you're physically moving! Cementos has been standing still the entire time!" Yuki explained.
"What?!"
"Only works for people who fight with fists. Not so much moving objects!"
"Right!"
Yuki glanced down at his watch again before letting out a growl of frustration.
"TIME IS UP!"
"DAMMIT!" Yuki turned around and kicked the brick wall.
Kirishima only let out a whine of disappointment as he slid down the wall.
"You two did well." Cementos reassured them.
"We failed." Yuki bluntly stated.
"Well, you did well giv--"
"Cementos-sensei, no offence but that won't make us feel any better..." Yuki retorted.
The Modern Lit. teacher chuckled nervously.
As the boys headed back to the lockers to get changed, hopefully out of their utter defeat, Yuki was summoned to Recovery Girl's office.
If you see Midoriya in there...
"... I promise to not attack him." Yuki finished out loud.
Yuki cautiously opened the door and... who would have guessed.
"Yuki-kun! Perfect timing!" Recovery Girl welcomed him.
"Go ahead and heal Bakugo here. He hasn't woken up yet so I can't heal him quite yet."
Yuki didn't dare speak. Opting to quietly walk over to the unconscious and peaceful looking Bakugo.
Yuki let his hands hoover the boy and the ever so familiar soft blue glow emerge from his hand.
"Kiss~"
"Th-thank you very much, Recovery Girl..." Midoriya didn't look any better from the outside so Yuki assumed the injuries were internal.
Yuki let his hands hoover just above Bakugo's stomach before snapping his head up to All Might.
"All Might, you really don't know how to hold back, do you?" Recovery Girl beat him to the scolding.
"If you'd hit any harder, you would've done permanent damage!" she warned, waving her needle walking stick up to the hero's face.
"Especially Midoriya's back. I was barely able to heal it!"
"Bakugo probably won't wake up for a while." Yuki told them through gritted teeth.
His body is entirely worn out...
"For now, the two of you should rest here..." Recovery Girl told All Might.
"Yes, ma'am." All Might coughed before deflating.
At this point Yuki reached Bakugo's arms and a bit behind his back before he snapped.
"It was literally a fucking exam. An EXAM!! TOSHINORI!" the number one hero flinched.
"How the ever loving FUCK! does it occur to you to BREAK. A. STUDENT!! LET ALONE TWO?!?!"
"Sorr--"
"NO! YoU'Re NoT!!"
"DEKU?!"
"...y-yes?" he couldn't exactly look at his friend, his healed and tender back obviously limiting any movement.
A frustrated growl was all Midoriya heard for him to fear what would happen next.
Exasperated, Yuki threw his hands up in surrender, "I-- I can't even-- I'm out. I've healed him enough, Chiyo-sensei."
Recovery girl could only nod and let the boy leave and as softly yet violently shut the door behind him.
Recovery Girl turned to face Toshinori, "You two are going to tire him out."
"Everyone..." Ashido cried. "I'm looking forward to hearing your stories...about training camp..."
Midoriya tried to comfort her, Kirishima and Kaminari who were very much visibly miserable...
"W-we don't know for sure yet! There might be a last minute twist!" he reassured.
"Stop, Midoriya. If you say it out loud, it'll probably jinx it." Sero warned him solemnly.
Yuki on the other hand was sitting at his desk...repeatedly hitting his head...
"If we failed the exams, then we'd have to skip training camp and be in summer school hell. And since we didn't pass the practical exam...If you guys still don't get it, then you're dumber than monkeys!" Kaminari cried out, piercing his finger onto Midoriya's eye.
"Calm down. That's too long." Sero calmly told him but made no move to save the freckled boy.
"I don't know, either. Our team passed thanks to Mineta, but I was just sleeping the whole time. Anyway, since we don't know how they're scoring it--"
"If you feel bad for us, then I dunno, just bring me back lots of stuff!" Kaminari shouted tearfully.
"How did you two do?" Kaminari asked Kirishima with matching teary eyes as Mina's.
"Take a guess." Yuki grunted, as he continued to bump his forehead on his desk.
"Yuki-kun, you shouldn't do that!" Iida shouted as he slid a hand between his friends forehead and the desk.
Yuki snapped his head up at Iida in somber, "Then what should I do?! Iida-kun! Tell me! What?!"
He cried, clinging onto his beloved friend's arm like a lifeline.
"Calm down!"
"I CAn'T!" Yuki wailed, tossing his head back, loose hair strands flinging while doing so.
"Yuki-kun..." Uraraka sweat dropped as her friend let himself slide off his chair, only being held off the ground by Iida's arm.
"Tch, losers."
"Says the guy who got manhandled so bad and knocked out for more than five hours with severe injuries." Yuki quickly recited.
"HA?!"
" 'HA?!' is correct Bakugo-san!" Yuki shouted, springing up to his feet.
"I Demand a REmAtCH!" Pointer finger in the air.
"Once the bell rings, get in your seats." Aizawa announced sliding the door open.
The entire class made it back to their seats less than a second and quietly waited.
"Morning." Aizawa began, "Unfortunately, there are those who did not pass the final exams.
But I passed the exams... just not the practical...
"Accordingly, for the training camp in the woods...everyone's going!" Aizawa shouted.
"A LAST MINUTE TWIST!"
"We can go, too?!" Kirishima asked.
"Really?!" Ashido cheered.
"Yeah." Aizawa confirmed. "Some failed, but no one failed the written exam. In the practical, Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Satori, and Sero failed."
Yuki let his head slam down on his desk.
"Huh?! I knew it..." Sero exclaimed distraught. "Just because my team passed didn't mean I scored high enough not to fail..."
"For this time's exam, we on the villain side made sure to leave a way for the students to win while watching to see how you all would take on the task at hand. If we hadn't most of you would've gotten stuck before you started."
I don't think Cemetos-sensei got the memo...
"So when you said you were really out to crush us..." Ojiro spoke.
"That was to make you feel cornered."
Of course it was!
"In the first place, the training camp in the woods is one to increase strength. So those who failed need it the most. They have to get stronger." Aizawa explained.
"It was a rational falsehood." he stated proudly with a weird face.
"A RATIONAL FALSEHOOD?!"
Unlike the rest of his fellow classmates who celebrated Yuki was still wallowing in self pity.
"We were lied to once again....as expected of U.A. However, since you lied to us twice, out faith in you will never waver!" Iida proclaimed.
"Wow, you're being a wet blanket, Iida." Uraraka smiled.
Yuki only snickered.
"That's true. I'll consider that." Aizawa replied to Iida's statement. "But I wasn't lying about everything. Failure is failure."
Yuki felt a chill run down his back at Aizawa's next words.
"We have prepared a separate time for extra lessons for you all. Frankly, it'll be tougher than the extra lessons you'd get if you stayed at school."
Yuki choked out a playful sob.
Such was faith to suffer.
"Well, in any case, I'm glad we can all go together." Ojiro spoke holding up a Training Camp Guide.
"A week of training camp, huh?" Iida too was looking through the pamflet.
"We'll have to bring a lot with us." Midoriya noted.
"I don't have a bathing suit or anything. I'll have to buy a bunch of stuff." Kaminari noted.
"Night vision goggles--"
"Oh, then since we're off tomorrow, and we just finished our exams, why doesn't Class A all go shopping together?!" Hagakure grinned cheerfully. (Yuki could practically feel it radiate off her.)
"Do I have enough?" Yuki wondered out loud.
His guardian didn't really care how he spent his money. He was wealthy enough to not have to worry about such things but that still didn't give Yuki permission to spoil himself every day. Upon adopting Yuki and promptly leaving him to live alone after half a year, Yuki decided it would be best to respect the man and his kindness by making sure he kept a consistent and reasonable budget.
"Oh, a good idea! Wouldn't that be the first time we all hung out together?"
"Hey, Bakugo, you're coming, too!" Kirishima called out.
"Like I'd do something so irritating."
"Are you coming along, Yuki-kun?" Midoriya asked.
Yuki pondered a bit before nodding. "Yeah, it's been a while since I've been to a mall."
"What about you Todoroki?"
"I go visit my mom on our days off." He replied.
The planning for the following day took a while.
Aizawa was kind enough to give Yuki some time off...simply because he was going to double up the intensity of his training during camping.
"I don't have anything for school trips." Yuki realized after rummaging through his house.
He hadn't ever gone to those school trips, let alone a class trip. He was usually on probation during middle school. Anything before that he was usually 'sick.'
"Do i need a sleeping bag?" Yuki wondered, pulling out the training camp guide.
"What do I need? What do I wear?"
Yuki stood in the middle of his living room contemplating what a class trip was supposed to be...
So, being the classic Yuki, he stayed up all night researching exactly that.
"And we're here!" Ashido cheered once the last person arrived.
"Yuki-kun, aren't you going to get warm?" Uraraka asked, having noticed he was wearing a navy sweater, the top half of his hair tied up while the bottom was loosely sitting on his shoulders.
"I'll be fine." Yuki smiled nervously.
I forgot to do laundry and this was the only long sleeve clothing I had...
Yuki was not going to be fine. It was too warm to be wearing layers and that was exactly what he decided to leave the house with.
"With the most stores in the prefecture, the newest and coolest, most advanced-- Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall!" Ashido continued to cheer.
Midoriya began to mutter as the group collectively began to walk.
"You're scaring the children. Stop that."
Yuki chuckled at Tokoyami's comment.
"Oh, aren't those U.A. students?!" a stranger shouted.
"First years?!"
"I saw them on TV!"
Well yes, one would hope so... That's the point of the sports festival.
"Oh, there are still people who remember that..." Uraraka spoke taken aback from the sudden attention.
"It's been almost three months..." Yuki grumbled.
"Anyway, I need to buy a carry-on bag." Jiro informed the group.
"Oh then let's look around together." Yaoyorozu told her.
I need that.
"Where can I get a lock-picking tool and small drills?"
Yuki sneered at the purple nuisance.
"I don't have any outdoorsy shoes, so I want to go buy some." Kaminari pointed out.
"Oh, me too, me too!" Hagakure agreed.
I also need that...
"The guide said to bring shoes that are already broken in--" Iida began, "Oh, but I see, perhaps we should choose based on utility?"
Yuki, Uraraka and Midoriya deadpanned at Iida's sudden epiphany.
"Everyone has different things they want to do, why don't we decide on a time to meet back up?" Kirishima offered.
But I probably need everything...
"I agree!"
"Then let's meet back here at 3 o'clock!"
"Wait--"
"Okay!"
"Everyone's really fast." Midoriya pointed out.
"Yeah..." Yuki and Uraraka agreed.
"What about you two? What do you need?" Midoriya asked.
Yuki promptly pulled out a list. "A lot."
"I want to get some heavier wrist weights."
Yuki tilted his head confused.
"Midoriya, I don't think you'll have time or the energy to use them..."
"I need bug spray...Bu...Bug Spray!" Uraraka shouted, pulling Yuki along.
"OI!"
A faint 'I'm a bug?!' coming from the boy with a t-shirt that read 't-shirt.'
Yuki wasn't sure why she was pulling him along but at least he could try to convince her to use her quirk on the heavier things he need to buy.
Am I willing to exploit my friends' quirk like this...
Yeah.
I'll treat her to food or offer to do her homework.
