- Kind Regards,
D. Jinx
Chiyo-sensei: Yuki-kun, I've packed a separate bag for first aid for you to bring along your training camp. Make sure you don't overexert yourself and have fun!
Yuki had gotten to school a bit early to go pick up the bag Recovery Girl so kindly prepared for him and his classmates.
"Chiyo-sensei...I think THIS is too much..." the bag was twice as big as his own belongings...
"U.A. High has finished its first semester and started summer vacation. However, those of you trying to be heroes will not receive days of rest. At this summer training camp, we'll have you aiming for even greater heights-- for 'Plus Ultra'!" Aizawa declared.
"Yes, sir!"
"Deku, it's finally time for the training camp in the woods, huh?" Uraraka smiled, getting too close to Midoriya.
"Y-yeah, that's right, Uraraka!" the poor boy turned bright pink.
"What's the matter?" Uraraka asked.
"Well, um..."
Yuki suppressed his laugh with a cough as it seemed Uraraka had finally caught on and was bright pink as well.
"I-It's time for training camp! Training camp! Training camp!" she shouted now more than 10 feet away from the freckled boy.
"What? There are people in Class A taking extra classes?" A taunting voice exclaimed.
"Does that mean you have people who failed the finals? What? Isn't that weird? Isn't that weird? Even though they're supposed to be way better than Class B? How can that BE?!"
The familiar orange haired girl chopped the back of his neck.
Monoma slumped onto the floor.
"Sorry!" she called out lifting the boy from the collared shirt and dragging him to the bus.
"Oh! It's Class B!"
"We kind of met during the sports festival, but nice to meet you, Class A." A girl with forest green spoke.
"We're getting on the bus!" Kendo announced.
"Not just the girls from Class A, but the girls from Class B will also be there! It'll be like a buffet we can pick and choose from!" the purple turd slobbered.
"Sero, pass me the strongest form of tape you can make." Yuki held out his hand.
"That's about enough out of you." Kirishima told him bluntly.
"Class A's bus is this way!" Iida shouted.
His arms were chopping in every way they could.
"Line up in seat order!"
Recalling his assignment he waited a bit to enter the bus.
"Aizawa-sensei, I have what you asked for." Yuki told him, pulling out the paper from his backpack.
He took them and nodded. "Thanks, I'll go over it on the way there."
Yuki nodded and got aboard.
He wound up sitting next to Shoji who he hadn't really had a conversation with. Shoji sat on his left next to the window, Yuki next to the aisle.
"Hey, Shoji-kun."
"Satori." the masked boy nodded.
"You can call me Yuki, the majority of the class already does."
"Yuki, then."
"Yeah."
"Everyone, the bus will stop once in about an hour. After that--"
Aizawa tried to make an announcement but the ruckus on the bus was too much and from what Yuki could tell he'd given up.
"I think he said we're stopping in an hour before we go the rest non-stop?" Yuki asked Shoji who nodded in conformation.
"Well, I guess I'm reading then." Yuki told no one in particular before putting his noise cancellation headphones on, pressing shuffle on his toons.
Yuki felt the bus slow down. He looked towards his right to take a peek out the window but met eyes with Bakugo.
Caught off guard, Yuki continued to stare, unsure of what to do.
"Looks like we're stopping." Shoji's muffled voice broke him out of the trance.
"Huh?" Yuki pulled off his head phones and took the chance to look away.
"We're stopping." Shoji repeated.
Yuki only nodded.
His ears felt warm.
Not sure if it was because of the headphones or the fact that he didn't know how long he'd been stared at...
"Finally taking a break, huh?"
"I gotta pee!"
Yuki stepped out to see a vast area of trees.
Brings back memories...
"I don't know why we had to wear school uniforms." Yuki complained. Trying to get his train of thought to leave that small incident.
"I could be snuggling in my sweater as I read." he pouted.
"You really like to wear sweaters, huh?" Uraraka sweat-dropped.
"Yeah."
Over his uniform he was wearing his own sweater. Not the schools.
"Anyway, does this even count as a rest area?"
"Huh? Where's Class B?"
"There's no point stopping without a reason." Aizawa told the class.
"Huh?"
"Where's the bathroom?"
"Hey, Eraser!" the black car just a couple feet away opened.
"Long time no see." Aizawa bowed politely.
"Lock on with these sparkling gazes!"
"Stingingly cute and catlike!"
"Wild, Wild...Pussycats!"
Yuki simply blinked.
Oh no. I'm in danger....aren't I.
"These are pro heroes who will be working with us during the camp, the Pussycats." Aizawa introduced.
There's four in this group...where are the other two?
"They're a four-person hero team who set up a joint agency!" Midoriya began to fanboy.
"They're a veteran team that specializes in mountain rescues! This year will be their twelfth workin--"
A paw enclosed over the freckled face.
"I'm 18 at heart!"
Math...so....30?
"At heart I'm....?"
"Y-You're 18!" Midoriya cried out. Thought muffled by the lady in blue's paw.
"She sounds desperate."
At least not as desperate as news reporters...
Yuki shivered at the thought.
"Greet them, everyone."
"Nice to meet you!"
Yuki glanced over to the boy who hadn't been mentioned. He looked rather uninterested the entire time.
"We own this whole stretch of land here. You all will be staying at the foot of that mountain."
Yuki had to squint to see where.
Why is she telling us now...?
"Huh? Then why did we stop here?" Uraraka asked.
Yuki instinctively looked over to the bus. It was still there. But the doors were closed.
"Oh sweet heavens."
"Could this mean...?"
"No way..."
Sero let out a nervous chuckle. "Why don't we get back to the bus, huh?"
"Yeah. Let's do that."
Yuki glanced at Aizawa and noticed there was a mischievous glint in them.
You know what-- Just accept it.
"It's 9:30 a.m. right now. If you're fast...maybe around noon?"
Yuki sighed and began to stretch his legs.
"I'm not even surprised anymore. Just slightly disappointed I don't get to rest more."
"No way...guys...!"
"Let's head back!"
"Get back to the bus!"
Where as his classmates passed him to head back Yuki stayed where he stood, looking out into the nice woods he and his classmates might have to spend for the majority of the day.
"HURRY!"
"Kitties who don't make it by 12:30 won't get any lunch!"
"I don't think we'll make it until bedtime." Yuki admitted.
"Sorry, ladies and gentlemen." Aizawa apologized.
"No you're not." Yuki shot him a look.
"Training camp..."
The woman in blue jumped in front of the class.
"...has already begun."
Yuki watched as the ground before him morphed and prepared himself.
The class was Pushed. Thrown. Tossed. Yeeted. Off the cliff.
"The ground is rising up?!"
Yuki was flung into the air.
"I love this fucking sweater!" He shouted out in anger. Gravity leading him towards the trees.
"I swear to FUCKING! GOD!"
He fell through into a tree where the thinner branches hit his back, slowing down his fall before slamming into one of the main branches.
He coughed, trying not to fall.
"Hey! Since it's private land, you can use your Quirks as you wish! You have three hours! Come to the facility on your own two feet! After getting through... The Beast's Forest!"
"Make it 9 hours!" Yuki groaned, finally able to sit on a branch.
"The Beast's Forest?!"
"That name sounds like it came right out of Dragon Quest!"
"U.A. does stuff like this way too much."
"It's no use complaining. We have to go."
Yuki then realized what he was sitting on, was indeed, not a tree.
"GUYS!" Yuki shouted, holding on for dear life.
"It's...a beast!"
"Nice observation skills!" Yuki shouted.
The beast then proceeded to prepare a swing.
"Slow reaction tho! Minus 10!" Yuki shrieked.
"Calm down, kind beast!" Koda shouted to the beast.
"It's not an animal! Get away!" Yuki shouted to Koda.
The beast swung down.
Yuki saw three figures coming towards the beast.
"Hold it down! Aim for the head!"
Ice began to emerge from the ground up and around the front legs.
"Reciproburst!" a kick to the hind legs.
"DIE!"
"Wait--"
Yuki was pulled off and tactfully thrown to the side as Bakugo blasted where Yuki had been holding on for dear life.
"I think I'd rather stick to the trees." Yuki softly told himself. "I'll keep an eye out for more."
As the class celebrated Yuki climbed up a tree and saw another coming their way.
"There's one at 12 o'clock! 10! 3! 4 o'clock!" Yuki told them.
"How many are there?!"
"There's more coming!" Yuki warned.
"Should we run?"
"If we don't make it to the facility by noon, then we don't get lunch."
"We won't make it either way." Yuki bluntly told the class.
"Then we have no choice but to get through here and take the shortest route." Yaoyorozu spoke up.
"All right. Let's go, Class A!" Iida shouted.
"Yeah!"
Yuki was in charge of being up in the trees to insure they were headed the right way. Shoji and Jiro took over the look out.
"There's some that FLY?!" Yuki shrieked, jumping down a couple feet from the tree to avoid getting hit by a beast.
"I got it!" Sero shouted. Easily bringing it to the ground for others to destroy.
Beasts were beginning to come from all directions the more they went into the woods.
"Satori-kun! Catch!"
"Huh?!" Yuki looked up to see Aoyama doing a trust fall from the tops of trees.
"Oi! I'm not qualified for that!" Yuki shouted, bringing his arms out to catch him.
Yuki made sure to balance himself on a steady branch and in the last minute instead of catching him he figured he'd swing him down.
You know like the acrobat he ISN'T!
"Qui~"
"Don't 'weeee~' me!" Yuki scolded now hanging off a branch with his legs before releasing the french blond onto the ground.
And so, Day 1 of their training... was almost over...
"Oh, you finally made it, meow!"
Sure Yuki had trained parkour at the school small makeshift forest but this?
This was worse.
He was sure to have blisters on hands, feet, and apparently behind his knees from jumping tree to tree all the way. But still, Yuki was helping poor Iida support himself, his engine definitely sounding more like a run down vehicle from the 1920s.
Everyone was exhausted.
Uniforms in tatters.
Especially his sweater.
It might have looked like a worn out navy blue sweater before but now it definitely looked like it'd aged 20 years. His comfort sweater, just ready to be thrown out...
"What do you mean, three hours?!"
"That's the time it would've taken us. Sorry!"
"Sorry not sorry...is what you're looking for" Yuki grumbled. It was his turn to lean against Iida now that they were just standing and not walking.
"That's mean..."
"I'm hungry...I'm gonna die..."
"But honestly, I thought it would have taken even longer." the lady told them.
"You guys didn't have as hard a time beating my earth beasts as I thought you would. You guys are great...Especially...you four!"
She pointed towards the idiot trio and Bakugo. Yuki took a step away from Iida, not wanting to be the prey of a cougar.
"Were you able to act without hesitation because of your experience?" said cougar licked her lips before pouncing towards them.
"I'm looking forward to where you'll be in three years! I call dibs!"
Yuki quickly walked further away from the four.
"Is she always like this?" Aizawa asked.
"She's a little desperate, since she's about the suitable age for, you know..."
"Speaking of 'suitable age'--"
Midoriya was once again met with a paw to the face.
"What about it?" the cougar loomed over him.
"I-it's been bothering me for a while...Whose child is that?" Midoriya pointed towards the angsty looking boy.
"Oh, not one of ours. He's my cousin's kid. Come on, Kota. Greet everyone. You'll be with them for the next week."
The said boy presumably called 'Kota' said nothing as he continued to glare at the class.
Unfortunately, Yuki recognized that look far too well.
"Oh, um, I'm Midoriya from U.A. High School's hero course." Midoriya introduced himself as he walked up towards the boy.
"Nice to meet you."
Kota took a step back before punching where the sun don't shine.
"Midoriya!" Iida quickly rushed forward.
"I'm not healing that." Yuki called out.
"You brute of a nephew!" Iida...cursed?
"Why would you do that to Midoriya's scrotum?!"
Just call it a dick.
"I don't intend to hang out with guys who want to become heroes!" Kota sneered back at them.
"Intend? Just how old are you?!"
"Precocious brat." Bakugo smiled almost proudly.
"Isn't he kind of like you?" Todorki pointed out.
"What? Not at all!" Bakugo quickly retorted. "Anyway, shut up, you GG bastard!"
"Sorry."
"Enough with this charade. Get your stuff off the bus. Once you've put your bags in your rooms we'll have dinner in the cafeteria. After that, you'll get to bathe and go to sleep. We'll start for real tomorrow."
A tired sigh left the class.
"Now, move quickly."
