"Do you know what to do when you get lost? Yuki-kun?"
Yuki looked up at the man. He had a soft and welcoming look to him that just made him feel warm like hot chocolate he made.
"No." Yuki replied.
"Well for starters," the man sat next to him grabbing onto a crayon Yuki had been using.
"You try to stay in the same area."
"Stay in the area." Yuki replied, resuming his coloring.
"Yes, and wait until an adult, preferably a lady."
"Find a lady."
"Yes, and you go up to her and tell her you lost uncle."
"Lost uncle."
"That's right. You're always carrying that slip when you go outside?"
"Mercy slip?"
"Emergency slip."
Yuki nodded.
"Good. Make sure she calls Uncle and not Papa--"
"STOP USING MY KID TO PICK UP GIRLS YOU LOSER!"
"Hey! You got a kid, let me use him to get me a wife!"
"It doesn't work that way. Yuki,"
Yuki stopped coloring and looked up at his Papa who was pointing an accusing finger at his uncle.
"Don't listen to this man, if he gets lost let him rot out there."
"Uncle Shin rot."
"No! Yuki-chan~ Don't listen to stingy Takumi--"
"Papa look." Yuki held up his drawing.
The men grew silent at the drawing.
"Family" Yuki had taken the silence as not being able to tell what he drew.
"I- I know what it is..." His papa stuttered.
"Geez, this is your fault Taku-kun." Uncle Shin blushed covering his face.
Yuki's papa didn't comment.
"It's a really nice drawing Yuki. Is that for school?" he asked.
"No. For us."
In any other situation it would have been perfectly normal to draw a family picture.
But this wasn't a normal situation.
The drawing Yuki had drawn was that of both men kissing each other and Yuki stood in between.
It was a normal family in his eyes.
A family that would unfortunately not work out.
For more reasons than one.
Yuki couldn't sleep.
He'd spent the past hour or so trying to calm down after his fists almost met someone's face. During his time staring up at the ceiling he began to wonder when he'd gotten so comfortable with expressing himself to this degree. He didn't think too much about it as his body was finally getting the message it was time to sleep.
His eyelids began to grow heavy. Breathing slowing down. With the blankets draped over him he slowly began to curl up on his side. Pulling the pillow into his arms. Pulling up the blankets under his head as a makeshift pillow to use instead.
I wonder what they would say...
Burying his face into the pillow he was finally able to doze of peacefu--
"CALADRIUS-SAN!" the door crashing against the wall. Probably creating a hole.
A pillow was lunged towards the door, "WHAT NOW?!"
"We need you, it's All Might! He's been sever--"
Yuki quickly rolled off the bed, the blankets acting as chains.
"I'm on my way, which room?"
"He's on his way on an ambulance!"
"I'll be down in three."
With that the nurse left the room and Yuki kicked off the drapes.
He slipped on his shoes and snatched his white coat off the rack on his way out. He didn't know where his hair tie was at and so he let it fall onto his shoulders.
He didn't bother taking the elevator and had basically punched the emergency door open.
Jumping every other three steps until he reached the bottom.
"Caladri--"
"Where is he?"
The doctor handed him a file which would be assigned to All Might to make a list of injuries.
"He's about to arrive,"
"Any information?"
"Reports of his previous injury reopening came in."
"Old mans sure pushing it."
"Old ma--"
"THEY'RE HERE! GET THE BED!"
"Five people come with me! Caladrius!"
"On it."
"He's lost a lot of blood!"
"His pulse is faint!"
The first responders shouted as they unloaded a Deflated All Might from the Ambulance.
They were quick to transfer him onto a bed. Nurses and Doctors flocking to the scene.
"GET HIM TO THE OPERATION ROOM!" Yuki shouted as he hopped onto the bed straddling All Might.
Yuki's hands began to glow the brightest his co-workers had seen as they all pushed the bed.
The operation room had to be ready if he was going to make it.
"Come on, Toshinori! Stay with me." Yuki whispered through gritted teeth.
"Fractured ribs!" Yuki began as he received information as he healed.
"Punctured lungs! Old injury is reopening! Puncture wounds on the left"
As they arrived at the emergency room, Nurses began to hook up Toshinori to machines.
Others rushed in with clothing prepared for surgery.
"He's going into Cardiac Arrest!" Yuki shouted, hopping of the number one hero so the others could do what they needed to.
CLEAR!"
He'd completely.
Somehow.
For whatever reason.
Missed the news.
Hours passed and All Might was stable but at the moment unconscious. And Yuki was staring at a fellow co-workers phone, watching what had been on the news at the time he'd been trying to rest.
He watched as the world saw All Might...deflate. The recording of the news managed to pick up the screams of civilians and pro heroes, echoing into the sky out of encouragement and hints of fear.
He watched as the villain produced more than one quirk, to which Yuki couldn't figure out for the life of him how it was possible.
He watched as All Might struggled against the villain. Using tricks and landing hit after hit.
He watched as the final hit knocked the villain out causing the camera crew to waver in the sky.
And Finally he watched All Might make his last stage appearance. Fist held high into the sky. A pillar of hope which had grown with him throughout his career.
"Next... Next, it's your turn."
Yuki couldn't help but tear up. Covering his mouth to muffle his cries. His hair a complete and utter mess blocking his face.
"Caladrius-san...." a doctor gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Go home. You've been here for almost a week."
"I need to wait for him to wake up." Yuki's voice quivering.
"He'll be fine. We did all we could and you kept consistent with the healing all throughout the procedure."
Yuki shook his head, "No, no. I can't risk it. I need to know if he wake up so I can double check every--"
"Yuki." The doctor firmly placed his hands on his shoulders. Kneeling in front of the boy.
"He will wake up. And he will eventually be fine. But you need to go home. You need to rest. You need to eat actual food."
The boy didn't dare look at him. He would not show his tear stained face.
"I--"
"I'll have Recovery Girl on the phone if you don't agree."
A short laugh left the boy's lips.
"No. It's alright. I'll go home in a bit."
The doctor gently patted his shoulders before getting up and leaving.
"I don't want to see you around here for a while!"
Yuki chuckled.
Wiping away his tears.
On his way to collect his belongings he spotted a group of familiar people.
"Reports of Bakugo Katsuki's Rescue have come out. He was able to be recovered and is now in Police's custody for questioning of his time with the League of Villains. No news on how he was recovered has been released but witnesses say he was spotted with a group of kids his age during the time of Camino's Attack."
So that's what they're calling it.
"Yuki!"
Said boy looked away from the screen.
It was Momo.
Midoriya rushed forward, "Yuki! Do you know anything about All Might? Is he going to be--"
His head instantly snapped to the side. A hot sting on his cheek.
"I thought I told you to leave it to the Pros." Yuki spoke in a deadly calm manner.
Kirishima instantly hopped in between them "Yuki, I don't think--"
"That's right you don't think!!" he shouted at the red head.
"This is completely unacceptable behavior! You deliberately went against all rules and this has only made you seem more like villains than heroes under the law!" Yuki shouted, poking Kirishima's chest repeatedly. Backing him up against the wall.
"You two!" Yuki snapped his head to Momo and Iida.
"You are meant to keep idiots like these in check! Not join them!"
Yuki then grabbed onto Iida's shirt and brought him up close to his face. "I would have thought you'd learn from the last time." Yuki hissed before releasing him.
"No matter how lucky this rescue of yours went things could have easily gone against your favor had they noticed you all."
The five hadn't felt guilty about going off on their own. They hadn't been scolded like Yuki just had. They'd been praised and told 'good job.'
"But--" Todoroki went to speak only to have his forehead flicked.
"No. You listen. I saw the little stunt you pulled. Sure it made it so all of you including Bakugo got away but just HOW SOUND was that plan? Huh?!"
The five stayed quiet.
Not having expected this type of reaction. Because if you recklessly went to save a friend and came back with them under the orders of not acting on your own accord BUT they were safe AND no one fucking died!
Of course they wouldn't tell them anything.
In the eyes of the media and in the eyes of society it was seen as a plan.
In Yuki's eyes it was seen as dangerous and impulsive. Where the actual rescue team had days to plan and layout a break in and an escape plan with BACKUP... these five went in absolutely blind to the situation.
No plan to break in. No plan to get out. Just the fucking location.
Having had enough Yuki took a step back from them.
"I've been in the same hospital for almost a week. I've healed all of the first years along with normal patients."
The five glanced at each other. Not having known he'd actually been sleeping there.
"I'm going to go home and I don't want any of you to contact me for the remainder of the summer. I'm exhausted. I haven't overused my quirk back to back since--" Yuki didn't finished.
His head, pounding.
He took a deep breath.
"I'm going home. I'll see you lot whenever Nezu decides to start classes."
As Yuki walked away Midoriya could help but notice just how his friend was exhausted. His hair was in knots. His eyes were slightly sunken with heavy eye bags. He was also swaying a bit as he walked away from them.
"I had no idea, Yuki did more after the training camp..." Kirishima grimaced at Yuki needing to hold onto the wall for support.
Momo went to take a step, "We should hel--"
"I don't think that's a good idea." Iida shook his head.
"We've done more than enough." Todorkoki agreed.
The five now stood in the hall. Long forgetting their original purpose for going to the hospital.
Letting Yuki's words sink in.
A couple days passed. Recovery Girl called and gave him a light scolding about his time at the hospital. Now he was prohibited to do any work for the rest of summer.
The Detective that had been with Toshinori came by his place with a small cake.
Turns out they were best of friends and he wanted to thank Yuki for not only helping Toshinori but also healing Momo enough to get the tracking device used for their rescue. Of course Yuki accepted the cake but replied with 'I'm just doing my job.'
At one point his lights wouldn't turn on and it was then he remembered he was the only one there who could pay the bills. Having completely forgotten about that he wondered why there hadn't been a warning. Turns out it was under the pile of mail that had accumulated by his front door.
"I didn't pay for two months.... Huh."
It was a lovely afternoon. It wasn't too hot and the humidity wasn't too bad. He'd managed to get back to a sort of schedule he'd been on during his year off. And as always--
"I forgot to buy food." the cool air from the fridge hitting his skin.
When he was home he could comfortably wear a tank top and shorts. No one was around anyways.
Wanting to get as much stress out of his system he cleaned and cleaned.
He organized and reorganized all the books in the house. He cleaned the bathroom, the kitchen, the front and back yard. He even sorted through his clothes and sent the ones he'd outgrown two years ago to be donated.
During his down time he began to read the books to refresh on some subjects. He especially began focusing on how to deal with gases. Using his past experiences as a child and now to figure out how one could die, focus on one, and figure out how to save them.
Yuki was currently vacuuming, having dropped the packet of cookies.
All I wanted was something to snack on as I read.
Yuki turned to glare at the couch. "You just had to trip me over didn't ya!"
The doorbell then rang.
Yuki had never turned off the vacuum and hid behind the couch so fast. He waited to see if they would go away. He wasn't in the mood to deal with sales people trying to sell him shit he didn't need.
It rang again.
He waited a bit more.
Third time's the charm--
A knock and the doorbell combination happened.
"Damn. It's important."
Yuki slowly opened the door and peeked outside.
"Satori Yuki."
"Aizawa Shota."
Opening the door a bit more he noticed Toshinori was there too. "Not that I don't want to see my teachers but why are you here?"
Aizawa perked an eyebrow. "Did you not get the letter?"
Stepping to the side to reveal a box stacked with advertisements and letters overflowing.
Aizawa and Toshinori looked down at it before looking back to Yuki.
"I've been busy." Yuki shrugged.
"Come on in if it's gonna take more than a minute. Close the door behind you will you."
Yuki walked back to the vacuum in the living room. Dragging it away to store it once more.
Aizawa took the time to look around. It was a very spacious place. Most of the surfaces were clear of anything besides an empty glass with a packet of cookies on the kitchen counter.
"So what can I do for you?"
"Well, since you didn't rea--" Aizawa's words caught in his throat. He hadn't really realized the scars on Yuki's arms. He was wearing a grey tank top with shorts going a little past his knees.
"What was the letter about?" Yuki gestured for the two to take a seat on the couch.
"It's about instilling an all-dorm system." Toshinori spoke gladly, taking a seat.
"Dorms? What does that have to do with me?" Yuki took a seat across from the coffee table.
"We're here to ask your parents or guardian's for permission to have you move in on campus." Aizawa replied. Still struggling to overlook the amount of scars the boy had.
"Aaahh..." Yuki sighed leaning back into his seat.
"Well you have mine." the boy crossed his arms closing his eyes in thought. "You're welcome to reach out to my guardian but I'm not even sure when he'll visit or in which country he's in right now."
"W-what do you mean?" Toshinori cautiously asked.
"I was adopted by a doc who travels around a lot. Never stays in one place. I see him at most three times a year but that's mostly during the fall...." Yuki explained.
"I can assure you he would agree to anything that would keep me safe. I can also have him call the school to give his consent but not sure how long it'll take to get back to you guys."
"Is- is this allowed?" Toshinori asked, looking at Aizawa who slightly shrugged.
"So you've been living alone..." Aizawa clarified.
"Correct. I think about five to six years now? Can't remember the exact date." Yuki shrugged.
"Is there another way to contact them?"
Yuki thought about it.
"Well... Recovery Girl knows of him. But like I said, it takes forever to reach him." Yuki frowned.
Aizawa sighed. "I'll talk it over with Nezu and Recovery Girl. If you're sure your guardian will allow it--"
"I'm 100% positive. He would rather have me on school grounds at all times after what happened." Yuki told them, now fiddling with his fingers.
Taking his word for it Aizawa nodded.
"Alright, we'll send out another letter for the move in dates. Please make sure to read that."
Yuki smiled. "Of course."
"Young Satori." Toshinori spoke.
"Yeah?"
He then inflated into All Might, "Thank you. I heard what about all the help you did in healing me. I seriously can't thank you enough."
"No need to thank me. It was a pleasure and my job. I'm glad you're doing well." Yuki replied.
Bowing too, out of respect.
And as a silent thank you for his time as a hero.
On their way out Aizawa kept on wondering why his student had so many scars. He was only able to see his arms and the bottom half of his legs but there were more than enough to wonder what other ones he had covered up.
"I'll see you at school Young Satori."
"Don't push yourself Toshinori-san. I won't hesitate to pull the plug if your on the hospital bed agian."
Toshinori went through confusion, shocked and terrified in a matter of seconds.
"Y-yeah..."
Aizawa waited a bit as the former number one hero walked ahead before turning to Yuki.
"Satori--"
"I'm not answering your questions."
"But--"
"Will the dorms have a communal bathroom?"
Aizawa frowned. So this is what he wanted to hide...
"Yeah."
Yuki nodded. "I'm assuming there will be a curfew?"
"I can talk to Nezu about having a separate room and washroom for you."
Yuki thought about it.
Nodding as he made up his mind.
"I don't really care. I think it's about time I kinda got over them. It's been a couple years now."
Aizawa had no idea what to reply with.
How could he? He hadn't seen a student who was practically covered with scars of all types tell themselves it was time to get over it.
"See you on move-in day, Aizawa-sensei." Yuki smiled and waved, closing the door.

"Lost uncle."
