Bakugo hadn't bothered Yuki after he'd asked him to stop with the questions. Mr. Watanabe wasn't coming back and even if he did Bakugo sure as hell wasn't going to be getting any answers from him. Aizawa had looked paler than usual when that lawyer first came to check on Yuki. It was all a bit weird and felt out of place for many reasons. By the end of the third day, Yuki's fever had gone down.
"Have you taken your medication?" Bakugo asked, as the two ate dinner on his coffee table.
"I have." Yuki mumbled before eating a spoonful of rice and bean sprouts.
"The others keep asking how you're doing." Bakugo told him.
Yuki hummed, still chewing. Compared to the other few times he's been 'sick,' he's actually been doing a lot better. The most he'd been sick was 11 days and now he is getting over the worst part and going straight to recovery within 3 days. He took a sip of his tea, "I should be fine by the end of the week."
Bakugo raised an eyebrow, "Should?"
Yuki nodded. "My recovery seems to be speeding up a lot more than usual. Kind of a good sign in my opinion. To have a normal amount of sick days, that is."
"Have you been sick for longer?"
"Yup." Yuki admitted without much explanation. "How are you doing?"
"With what?" Bakugo asked back.
"Cleaning. It's a big building with six floors. Is it six floors?" Yuki smiled slightly.
"I can handle it." Bakugo murmured, poking around his food. He'd continued to watch Yuki carefully as they ate for the past two days. Having nearly drowned and ran away in the dead of night was enough to have him under watch.
Yuki wouldn't say he hated it. It was just ever so slightly uncomfortable. To be stared at for long periods of time was something he would have thought he'd gotten over. Apparently not.
"It doesn't hurt to blink every now and then you know." Yuki sighed. He didn't even need to look up to see Bakugo quickly look away. "It's not like I'm going to disappear again."
Bakugo didn't comment on it.
Having finished their meals, the two sat comfortably in silence. The distant voice of their classmates as ambient sounds.
Yuki leaned back supporting himself as he purposely stretched out his legs, feet bumping against Bakugo's crossed legs. "So are you going to take the dishes down?" he asked lightly.
A small huff left the blond. "Don't get used to it. I'm only doing this as payback for patching me up."
"And your midnight video game rants."
"Shut up."
Yuki let out an airy laugh.
A person wouldn't have thought twice meeting someone in a small cafe while they were studying. They might have wondered what it was they were delving into and silently cheer them on for whatever test they could have been preparing for. But nothing else.
He'd first seen him in a coat that looked too big on him one winter day. Then he'd seen him in the written exam room and ended up being the first to finish. And then again when he noticeably walked into class for the opening ceremony. He had slapped him on their first Hero Training class for going overboard. He'd accidentally seen scars which were plenty of a story to tell. And the look on his face-- god. It was terrifying. How cold and dull they looked all the while they held pain and anger.
He was so determined to work non-stop. Fooling nearly everyone into thinking he was this perfect and well collected person. How their peers simply relied on him without a doubt, yet he couldn't seem to do the same. He's able to make others feel comfortable yet hardly ever looks like he is.
"It looks like you're doing better." Recovery Girl noted.
"Yeah." Yuki smiled, his face was still a light blush but compared to before it was progress.
"Are you sure the medicine is doing what it's supposed to?" She was still skeptical about the amount of medication he'd stocked up on. And with his medical files clearly saying medication has a weaker effect on him, it didn't really help his case.
"Yes, I'm sure." Yuki yawned.
Recovery Girl was about to insist on double checking but was rudely interrupted.
"Oi, old lady, are you done yet? I've gotta set up my bed, you know!" Bakugo grumbled as he stood near the wide open door. A clear tell sign for her to leave.
With a scowl, she let out a heavy sigh. "I'll come back again tomorrow--"
"I won't go anywhere, Chiyo-sensei." Yuki replied, slightly slurring his words together.
Upon her departure Yuki got out of bed and rolled onto the wooden floor.
"What are you doing?" Bakugo asked, holding his futon in his arms.
Yuki rolled and crawled over to the TV. "Can I just watch you play video games?"
"What? Why? It's late and I have to get up early--"
"Just an hour or two!" Yuki suppressed a yawn, grabbing a controller and holding it out to Bakugo.
Bakugo continued to hold his frown, making Yuki huff in light frustration. "I'm nearly half asleep. Just play until I go to sleep. Please."
With a grumble of incoherent words Bakugo began to set up his bed.
"Please~" Yuki held out the controller with both hands this time, slightly bowing.
"I said I'd do it! Let me just set up my bed." Bakugo voiced properly this time.
"Oh." Yuki looked up to the blond and grinned, "Thank you!"
Yuki watched as a series of rapid clicks resulted in a hidden combo Bakugo had been talking about the other times.
"Oh, you got it." Yuki hummed. A blanket was draped over his head, only really revealing his face.
"Yeah. About time too." Bakugo gritted, keeping both eyes glued to the screen. He hadn't really had much time to play and get ahead in the game due to his house arrest so this was a perfect time to catch up. Out of the corner of his eye, Bakugo could tell Yuki was beginning to doze off. He'd save his progress in the next checkpoint to let the healer get more tired. Of course that was before he felt him lean against his shoulder.
Bakugo hit pause and stayed still, peeking down at him.
"You can keep playing." Yuki mumbled, snuggling into his blanket. "I'm still kinda awake..."
Bakugo sighed, resuming his game. There was a moment of silence before Yuki began to whisper.
"I still have nightmares sometimes."
The blond was tempted to pause and listen but instead chose to simply run around as Yuki continued.
"I can sometimes tell who's screaming."
An unpleasant chill ran down Bakugo's spine.
"And it's always too cold." Slow and soft breathing followed.
Finally reaching a checkpoint, Bakugo saved his progress. He glanced over to Yuki who somehow looked uncomfortable and comfortable at the same time. Grabbing the remote, he turned off the TV leaving them in slight darkness. The moonlight peeking through the curtains.
Carefully shifting Yuki, Bakugo managed to get a proper hold to lift and carry him to bed. Gently removing the draped blanket he was latched onto, dragged down and locked between the bookshelf and Yuki himself.
"Oi! If you're still awake then why'd you make me carry you!" Bakugo exclaimed, his arms attempting to push Yuki away.
Yuki, however, was indeed asleep. His clutch around Bakugo remained.
"Yuki!"
"Papa...?" a five year old looked around searching for the source of the voice.
"Yuki-chan, you did such a good job!"
"Uncle Shin!" Blinking away the blur, Yuki found himself in his childhood living room. A very familiar figure knelt down and as though he'd been poured with ice cold water, he shivered.
"Papa." Yuki whispered. His face was as clear as he knew he once recalled. "Papa..." his voice croaked before choking out a sob.
Tenji softly smiled as he hesitated caressing his son's cheek, "You've grown up so much."
Yuki's lip trembled as he leaned into his papa's familiar warmth. Holding back anymore sobs.
Another familiar voice joins in, "You were so brave, Yuki-chan."
The boy looks just beside his papa. And there stands the ever so loving uncle of his.
"You did such a good job." Uncle Shin repeats with a sob as he also kneels down beside him, caressing him with such care Yuki had long forgotten about.
"We love you so much." Tenji's voice quivers. He holds onto his son close as they eventually burst into tears. Crying out their sorrows.
There were a lot of tears. He'd wiped one away but then more began to flow.
Bakugo wasn't sure if he should wake him up. Tears were one thing but the expression was another. Yuki didn't look scared. He looked... sad. And happy. But mostly sad. It was a couple seconds later did his expression change to that of a peaceful sleep.
It was early in the morning when Bakugo woke up to find himself enclosed by Yuki. Shake awake the 'sickly' boy seemed nearly impossible when he didn't react. Of course, Yuki ended up waking up to Bakugo shimming out of his grasp, enough for Yuki to chuckle before finally releasing him. Today was Bakugo's last day of house arrest. And from the morning temperature Yuki had it might probably be his second to last.
Being the only one cleaning the entire 1-A dormitory for the last day, Bakugo seemed to want to get up earlier than he usually did to get a head start on everyone else. After all, it most likely would take him the entire day just doing a sweep of dust here and there.
Yuki didn't wake up again until Bakugo pulled his curtains open to let in the morning rays. As he got ready, breakfast was being made. And before Bakugo could even gather the dishes to take up to Yuki's room, the boy himself made his first appearance in the lobby since being carried back from the main building.
"Where do you think you're going?" Bakugo asked as Yuki looked around. Having slightly forgotten what the place looked like.
"I want to eat breakfast here today." Yuki simply replied. The sunlight was really doing the place a glorious favor.
"You're still sick."
"Not sick enough to stay in bed." Yuki grinned walking over to one of the dining tables. Taking a seat he kindly smiled over to Bakugo who continued to semi-glare at him judgmentally. With a disgruntled look he clicked his tongue and proceeded to move the dishes onto the dining table.
Not much talking was done. It was mostly peaceful and quiet until Yuki took it upon himself to start washing the dishes. Being quickly told off by Bakugou that it was his job to do that and he should simply go back to bed and rest. To which Yuki did as he was told but with a little, "don't mind me being so useless and fragile over the common cold." before dramatically falling back onto one of the couches. He silently stayed there as to not have Bakugo's blood pressure rise, only briefly sitting up for him to clean the couch.
When he fell asleep was a mystery as he was then being woken up by none other than Uraraka.
"Yuki-kun!" She was practically on the burst of tears, kneeling beside the couch.
"-raraka... hello...." he mumbled, barely squinting.
"I'm so glad you're getting better!" she sniffled, wiping away the tears that had yet to fall.
"Yuki!" Midoriya's voice sounded happy and relieved as well.
"Yuki-kun!"
A series of voices proceeded to call out his name. His classmates had completely surrounded him as he sluggishly thanked them for worrying about him and reassuring he was fine now. Of course that didn't mean he was excused from the hugs, get well cards and presents they hadn't been able to give him. Being prohibited from seeing him until further notice, was what Aizawa had told them (after deeming him unsafe.)
"OI! Give him some space. He's still recovering!" Bakugo nagged at them. Yuki only continued to smile, still exhausted.
"Satori!" Aizawa's voice boomed. Everyone took a step away from the healer as the homeroom teacher menacingly walked over to him. His arms, full of gifts and nibbling on some dark chocolate.
"Yea?" Yuki replied.
"What are you doing out of bed?" Aizawa asked now standing in front of him.
Yuki held up his hand for a pause as he finished chewing, swallowing the choco.
"I was keeping Bakugo company while he cleaned," he explained. "I must have dozed off. Sorry."
Aizawa glanced over to Bakugo who quickly looked away from them and continued to dust the windowsills. A couple of his classmates had slowly backed away from the group, heading off to do whatever it was they did after school.
Aizawa didn't even bother with further questioning as he simply said, "Bakugo, take him back upstairs. Satori, you're not allowed to come downstairs until you've completely recovered. Is that clear?"
Yuki lightly frowned, "Crystal." and then processed to take another bite of the dark chocolate.
"Wow, I guess you weren't lying when you said the others were worried." Yuki jokingly said, placing his get well gifts onto the coffee table. He would need to read through the cards and try a piece of every candy they'd gotten him.
"I said what I said. Why would I lie about that?" Bakugo simply replied, collecting any trash before he went back downstairs.
Yuki plopped down onto his beanbag in thought. "Well, I didn't really take you for the type of person to lie to others..."
"Of course I'm not!"
"...it's just-- I didn't think they'd actually be as worried as you said they were." Yuki slightly smiled at him.
Bakugo scowled before resuming his chores.
"Stay here." he told the healer. "I'll be back with dinner later."
Yuki grinned, waving him farewell. "Alright, I won't go anywhere."
Before Bakugo closed the door Yuki quickly exclaimed.
"Bring some orange juice too!"
"Fine!"

"Have you taken your medication?" Bakugo asked, as the two ate dinner on his coffee table.
