By the end of the week Yuki found himself buried under stacks of homework and notes his classmates were generous enough to take in his place. Iida, as class president, took it upon himself to fill him in on everything he'd missed out. Which was a lot. There was hardly anyone who questioned him about his family lawyer coming over instead of a doctor. A few gave him a couple curious looks but unbeknownst to Yuki, Aizawa had warned them to avoid questioning him.
Yuki was informed U.A.'s Big Three had been introduced. One of them having taken on the entire class and how no one was able to land a hit on him. He was quite impressed and really didn't care whether he'd missed out on their introduction. Of course their introduction to the class was just a way to also inform them of the following the work studies they would need to do.
These work studies, however, would have to meet up during some school days if one managed to get accepted into an agency. Recovery Girl had made it very clear to Yuki, he would not be going to an agency for work study the majority of the time. He would only do so if there was a request sent out for him. Where his classmates were the ones who had to send requests, Yuki would be the one receiving requests from those agencies.
Requesting for him would have to include reasons for him being on cite along with the information of the job he would be assisting. He was still training to be a hero and not just another medic out on the field after all. Yuki would not allow himself to be on stand by until the injured were brought to him, he would fight to get to them just as hard as the heroes did.
So while everyone was excitingly looking for agencies and connections to let them in, Yuki was busy trying to catch up with his school work as a small packet of requests awaited him. He would need to ask Recovery Girl and Aizawa for help in terms of planning around school, training, and volunteering.
"Ah." Yuki suddenly realized.
"What?" Bakugo asked, looking up from his homework. He'd taken the liberty to invite himself over and was comfortably using Yuki's coffee table.
"I didn't bring my scooter." Yuki sighed, leaning back into his comfortable office chair.
"We're doing homework. Why the fuck would you be thinking about a scooter?" he frowned.
"Well, unlike you, I tend to think ahead of things in more detail. I'm worried about how I'm going to travel between agencies and hospitals during the work studies." Yuki pouted, placing his pencil between his upper lip and nose.
Bakugo stopped writing and looked up at Yuki in bewilderment. "You got into more than one agency?"
Yuki hummed in boredom, "Kinda."
"What do you mean 'kinda'? Some of us are here struggling to get into ONE!" Bakugo proclaimed.
"Well I'm aiming to be more of a freelance type of hero with a complimentary job as a Doctor." Yuki shrugged. "I've been making connections for quite some time. Even before I came to U.A. so a lot of the agencies contacting me have either seen how I work or someone put in a good word for me."
"Why the fuck does it sound like you've got it all planned--"
"Because I do." Yuki picked up one of the many journals he chose to bring along with him. "This helps as a reference more than an actual planner though." He watched as Bakugo visibly began to shake. The grip on his pencil tightening.
Yuki removed his pencil from his upper lip and said "It's fine if someone doesn't have their life planned out. It's just something I was told to do as a way to cope."
"How the fuck does that help with coping?!" Bakugo snapped his pencil.
The healer opened one of his drawers and pulled out another pencil. "I already get stressed out when making a life and death situation, so having a choice already written down for smaller scale things helps me stay a bit more level headed." he tossed Bakugo a spare pencil.
There was a new thing Bakugo just learned. "How many journals do you have? You can't have everything in there can you?" he asked a bit more calmly.
"Probably 4 of these kinds." Yuki nodded before turning back to his homework.
Bakugo nodded looking back down. He was curious about a couple more things. Thinking about it, it should be fine. It's not like it was a deep level type of personal question.
"Your place was a mess last time I went. How the fuck is it so clean in here?"
Yuki chuckled, "Well I did leave everything I didn't need behind."
"Everything looked important last I saw." Bakugo grumbled.
"They were," Yuki agreed. "But it was mostly for academic and learning purposes. I have a few files here if I ever need to go back and get something. Plus the library is always open on the weekends."
It was their second weekend since school started. Did things begin to look a bit... chaotic.
"YUKI!!" there was banging against his door. Without waiting for a response the door was flung open, Kaminari, Mina Kirishima and Iida came bursting in.
"OI! WATCH IT!" Bakugo shouted while nearly getting stepped on.
There was a series of screaming as Yuki looked between them and Bakugo on the floor in question.
"I told you, you shouldn't have!" Mina shouted, pulling at her hair.
"But there was a label!" Kaminari shouted back.
"It was a WARNING!" Kirishima looked stressed.
"OK, What is going on?!" Yuki finally shouted before they started pointing fingers.
"He was stupid enough to--"
"--and then it caught on fire!"
"Not even the class pres. Can figure it out!"
"We can't find the others!"
"Iida doesn't even know--"
"EVERYONE SHUT UP! YOU'RE YAPPING ISN'T GOING TO MAKE IT ANY BETTER!" Bakugo graciously interrupted. The four stop. They look over to Yuki who's already pinching the bridge of his nose.
"One by one," Yuki mumbled. "Kaminari, what happened?"
"O-okay, so I was-- I was just trying to do laundry-- and then-- and then she--"
"Are you fucking crying?" Bakugo asked, tilting to the side to get a better look at his face.
"I'm Not!"
"Bakugo, please." Yuki calmly dismissed him. "Continue," he told Kaminari.
"I was trying to do laundry and Mina was also there."
"I was." Mina confirmed.
"Okay." Yuki was still confused.
"So, I load my laundry and the door won't close."
"Then I walk in to take out my clothes from the dryers." Kirishima adds on.
"And then I tell Denki he needs to properly separate his clothes!" Mina exclaims.
Kirishima interrupts, "Then they start to fight--"
"Argue." Mina and Kaminari correct him.
"At this point I hear the commotion and try to figure out what's going on." Iida introduces himself to the story. "They're fighting--"
"Arguing!"
"They're arguing over how much clothes should go in the washer." Iida explained.
"And how he needs to separate his colors." Kirishima adds.
"Then she has the audacity to take my clothes out!" Kaminari whispers in horror.
"I was trying to help you!" Mina retorts.
"I'm trying to get my clothes from the dryer when I smell something weird." Kirishima continues. "Iida also notices it and that's when smoke starts coming out from one of them."
"The fire!" Mina gasped.
"There was a fire." Kaminari nodded in agreement. "Iida didn't know what was wrong." he accuses.
"That is not my expertise!" Iida proclaims, his arm very much offended.
"The fucking dryer caught on fire?" Bakugo asked.
"YEs, Keep up!" Kaminari clapped his hands.
"We panicked!" Mina told Yuki. "And this dumbass grabs a bottle of cleaning supplies--"
"I PAniKed!" Kaminari sheicked.
"It made the fire somewhat explode--"
"I got scared and short circuited!"
"I got everyone's clothes out from the dryer though." Kirishima slightly raised his hand.
"Now the washers aren't working and there's black smoke coming out of the laundry room." Iida finished. At least Yuki hoped he was.
With a small sigh, Yuki dared ask. "Why did you come to me first..."
"Some of them went to train--"
"--Grocery shopping."
"Or shopping in general."
"You were the closest person."
Yuki leaning onto his desk, a hand covering his mouth.
"I'm calling Aizawa--"
"NO!!"
"So."
The entire class was rounded up in the lobby. Eyes darting everywhere except where Aizawa stood, arms crossed, and the light sounds of reconstruction going on in the background.
"There was a fire in the laundry room.Anyone care to explain?"
Yuki looked away from the four who had rudely interrupted his leisure moment.
"I won't tell him it was you!" Yuki assured them as he held his arm as high as he could. His phone tightly gripped as three of them attempted to snatch it away from him.
"Please! I told my mom I wouldn't get in trouble again!" Kaminari cried out, desperately trying to climb onto Yuki.
"I just told you I wouldn't give names!"
"You promise?!" Mina asked, latching to the front of his shirt.
"I promise!"
"SATORI!" Aizawa snapped.
"Yes, sir!"
"You made the phone call, care to explain?" Aizawa narrowed his eyes at the healer. Fortunately for Yuki, Aizawa had dry eyes so a staring contest wouldn't be too bad.
"I was going down for some refreshments when I smelled something burning." Yuki calmly replied.
"Was there anyone else around?"
"I can't say. I panicked, ran back to my room and called you." Yuki told him with the best possible poker face he had.
Aizawa seemed to ask him more questions before he was interrupted.
"Aizawa-san!"
"Yes?"
The class took the opportunity to look at each other with 'Was it you?' Written across their faces. A lot of shrugging and whispering were thrown around.
"Settle Down!" Aizawa shouted. Rubbing his temple he let out a heavy sigh.
"As it turns out the dryers filters weren't cleared out--"
"They have filters?"
"They do?"
"Since when?"
"We have to clean them?"
Yuki casually let out a sigh of relief.
"However," Aizawa sent them a warning glare. "If this happens again, there will be consequences." his eyes glimmering a light red.
The class nodded in agreement, "Yes, sir..."
Yuki now had 4 people in debt to him.
The laundry room took less than an afternoon to fix up and Yuki was able to do his laundry in the dead of night. Why so late? No reason really. It's not like he was wearing his only pair of shorts and sweater he had left. Yes. Laundry day was long overdue. And he was using up nearly half of the washers available.
"Why the fuck are you awake?"
Yuki didn't need to look up from his phone to know who it was. He continued scrolling through maps, pinpointing and mapping out the routes he would need to take.
"Laundry." he simply replied before yawning. "Why are you up?"
"I wake up at this time." Bakugo grunted.
Yuki looked over to the blond. He was wearing his P.E. uniform. "Going for a run?" he asked.
"Yeah." Bakugo replied before taking his leave.
"Stay safe..." Yuki droned, glancing over at the time in the corner of the screen. It had been late when he'd ventured into the laundry room. Now it was nearing 5am.
Bakugo was back before Yuki made his second run to the laundry room to collect the remainder of his now clean clothes, blankets and bed sheets.
"Give me that."
Yuki perked up an eyebrow, "I can carry these myself." He had two baskets on either side of him. It was uncomfortable having the edges dig into his sides but it wasn't too much.
"I said give it!"
With a sigh Yuki nudged the least heaviest towards him. "You do know I'm taller--"
"It looks like you'll fucking break your arms--"
"I've gained a bit more muscle--"
"Did you press the button?" Bakugo snapped.
"Oh."
Yuki wasn't sure if Bakugo was still worrying about him or if he just really didn't want to leave the healer alone. Ever since recovering, Bakugo insisted on continuing to check his temperature at least once. Yuki had told him multiple times he was fine but having heard all those 'fine's' coming out of his burning hot self, he wasn't buying it. Of course this only started after having mentioned he'd been sick longer than this time before.
Finishing folding his clothes and fixing his bed, he set off to take a nice long shower. It had been a long day. Catching up with homework, studying, defusing a minor fire and electric outage from the laundry room, to finally catching up on his own laundry.
He was happy things were feeling normal again.
Yuki was informed U.A.'s Big Three had been introduced. One of them having taken on the entire class and how no one was able to land a hit on him.
