                    Jaxon POV
Jordan looked positively stunned as the minister stepped forward with Alex and me. I smirked. My mother and father filed into the room as well, waving sheepishly to Jordan and at Alpha Blaze who appeared to be speechless. That was a first, I chortled.
“What, what is this?” stammered Jordan.
I raised an eyebrow while my mother giggled and my father chuckled “I would have thought that was obvious” I said mildly, with a wide grin “Seeming as you can’t make it to the wedding, we brought the wedding to you” I told her triumphantly.
It had been my idea and Alex had willingly gone along with it. He adored Jordan just as much as I did and neither of us had wanted a large wedding anyway. This was perfect, small and intimate, just the way we had wanted it.
She gasped out loud, putting a hand to her mouth. Alex and I were dressed in nice suits, while my mother wore a nice dress, and my father wore his usual suit. She flushed, glancing down at herself, no doubt worrying about how she looked. Blaze was dressed casually. Both of them looked disconcerted. “Don’t stress” I told them both “What’s important is that you’re able to witness this, nothing more.”
“I can’t believe you did this” whispered Jordan in awe as the minister opened up his book and cleared his throat, preparing to begin.
I winked at her. “We both wanted to. Neither of us needs a fancy wedding, all we want is for the people who matter most to be present for our nuptials. We aren’t about to get married without our best man or rather woman there.”
I saw her eyes go shiny with tears as she blinked them back. Blaze hugged her tightly to his side, his own eyes suspiciously shiny as well. He gave me a look and mouthed the words ‘thank you’ as the Minister began to speak,
standing so that he could be seen from all sides, as I reached over and took Alex’s hand. Warmth spread through my body and I felt the sparks that always accompanied his touch.
“Dearly beloved” began the minister.
I know, I know, such a cliché, but neither of us had managed to prepare anything different in such a short space of time. “We are gathered here today, on this momentous occasion, to witness the nuptials and union between Alpha Jaxon and his mate Alex” intoned the minister, a nice man by the name of Pete who had travelled all the way from my pack to be here.
Jordan smiled, relaxing against the bed while my mother began to sniff loudly behind us. Any minute now I was certain she was going to burst into tears. I shot her a pleading look. Hopefully, she could keep it together until the ceremony was finished. My father’s expression was stoic but his eyes were suspiciously shiny as well, now that I looked at him. I also prayed nobody went into labor, my mother included.
“If anyone should object to this union, let them speak now or forever hold their peace” continued the minister, as I stared into my mate’s eyes, completely lost, tingles running through me, feeling nothing but love swell in my heart. I adored this man and his wolf Crowley.
I was finally doing it. I was marrying the love of my life. The person who completed me. I gripped his hand tightly, never wanting to let him go. Aries stalked back and forth, listening intently, pleased that we were making Alex our husband, even as he acknowledged it was such a human thing to do. As I held Alex’s hand, nervous, it was like time had ceased to exist. I relived every moment we had together, from the very second, we first met at the ball, to our first time being intimate together, to hearing him laugh for the first time, to telling him I loved him for the first time, and so on until I reached this moment in time, where I was claiming him as mine forever.
I tensed, expecting any moment that somebody would object, even as I realized how foolish that seemed. Nobody else knew about the ceremony after all. As it was, if someone had voiced their objection, it was likely that I would have ripped their throat out and continued on with the ceremony. The minister clearly sensed it, clearing his throat and hastily moving on while Alex gave a slight giggle at the look on my face and squeezed my hand reassuringly.
“I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may now kiss each other” the minister said gleefully as there was a collection of oohs and awes from the audience in the room.
I didn’t need to be told twice. I cupped Alex’s chin in both hands, my eyes fixed firmly on him, and then dipped my head, pressing my lips against his. I was gentle and loving. I showed him affectionately just how much I cherished him. My tongue slipped inside his mouth and softly caressed his own, as he gave a moan. I deepened the kiss, forgetting all about the fact my parents and my best friend were still watching, feeling myself becoming aroused.
My mother of course was not the kind to be discrete. She laughed out loud, sounding delighted. “I’m certain if you asked him, Alpha Blaze could show you to a guest room and you could continue,” she said with a twinkle in her eye as we abruptly pulled apart, Alex’s cheeks flushed bright red in embarrassment, his eyes sparkling with happiness.
Jordan giggled. She clapped her hands as the minister shook our hands and quietly offered his congratulations. “Honestly I can’t thank you enough for doing this,” she said excitedly “Congratulations the both of you. That was really beautiful” she added wistfully and I saw Blaze look slightly guilty.
My mother darted over to Jordan and gave her a hug. “Hello sweetheart” she crooned, her own stomach big and swollen. “Luna Serena” Jordan squealed, hugging her back “I thought you didn’t want to travel so close to your due date,” she said looking a bit upset “Don’t tell me you did because of me.”
My mother waved her hand dismissively “Oh that. My son managed to persuade me, and I wanted to see you” she said in her usual exuberant tone.
My father hugged Jordan and stepped back, shaking Alpha Blaze’s hand. “It’s nice to see you again Jordan. I hope to see your daughter when she is born” he added mischievously and Jordan laughed, looking a lot more upbeat. I was glad to see
it.
“Doesn’t she look happy” Alex murmured in my ear, his breath tickling me as I turned and looked at him “I think this was completely worth it, just to have her smile like that” he added thoughtfully.
I pulled him in close, smelling his scent, my arms protectively holding him tight. “Thank you” I whispered into his ear “You have no idea just how much this means to me” I added.
“I have a pretty good idea” he breathed back and then winked, a serious look appearing on his face “And I have several ideas on how you can make it up to me when we get back to our pack” he added as I tried not to moan out loud, all sorts of naughty images coming to mind courtesy of Aries who was also on board with it all. I was more than prepared to make it up to my husband.
“I’ll be taking you up on that offer, so you better be prepared,” I told him, whispering in his ear as he shivered in anticipation.
“We can still hear you” my mother sang out “Save it for your honeymoon” she continued blithely as Alex and I stiffened “If you both can last that long” she teased.
My father just shrugged apologetically at us. I glowered at my mother. Jordan’s body was shaking with laughter. “Oh, I’ve really missed you, Luna Serena,” she said, wiping her eyes.
“Feel free to keep her” I grumbled, “free of charge.”
My mother shot me an indignant look. “You would miss me, and you know it” she accused, pointing her finger at me.
I raised an eyebrow “Are you willing to put that to the test?” I asked evenly.
Even Blaze was laughing, although he had at least turned his face away to hide the fact.
“Well, I know I would miss you,” my father said loyally. He kissed my mother on the forehead as she relaxed against him, looking miffed.
“I would miss you too,” Alex said, the traitor.
My mother shot me a scathing look. “You would be completely lost without me. I mean, come on, I’m going to be the best grandmother to your babies” she said dreamily.
I choked. Alex and I hadn’t really discussed whether we wanted children or not. “Um Mother,” I said lowly, aware that Jordan and Blaze were listening “We don’t know if we want children yet.”
She looked astounded. “How can you not want children” she demanded “Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited for you to get married?”
“Well, I’m nineteen, almost twenty, so nineteen years?” I said a little unwisely.
She threw a pillow at me. “I need babies in my life Jaxon. I need to hold their chubby little bodies and smell their baby scents and kiss their pudgy little cheeks” she pouted.
“You’re about to have your own baby,” I said not thinking.
“It’s not the same” she wailed “I want to be a grandmother. I want to be able to give them loads of sugar and then give them back to you, knowing they are going to be right little shits for you. I want to spoil them rotten. Yes, I’m having a baby, but that makes me a mother again, not a grandmother” She began to tear up.
I shot Alex a look. He looked back at me helplessly. Jordan made a strangled sound and Blaze was peering out the window as though there was something very interesting going on outside. My father was patting my mother on the shoulder, soothing her. As usual, he was no help whatsoever as I glowered at him.
“Well um, I don’t know how Alex feels about children” I began tentatively. He hadn’t really given me an indication either way if he wanted them or not.
“I want them” Alex interrupted, fidgeting with his hands “I want a family, with you. I want a baby of our own.”
I gaped. My mother shot me a triumphant look which I pointedly ignored. “Are you sure?” I asked him stunned.
He nodded. “I was going to bring the subject up later, but seeing as we’re talking about it now” he mumbled, shrugging, “I thought I would say it. I want a baby, maybe two. As long as it’s with you.”
A family. He wanted a family. The one thing he’d been denied since his parents had thrown him out for being gay. My heart constricted in my chest. I couldn’t deny him that. I didn’t want to. I could picture us raising our sons or daughters or both together and the image made me smile to myself. How could I refuse? My own heart constricted with the joy of picturing us as a family and Aries longed for a pup.
“Then we’ll have them,” I said softly, as Alex’s eyes shimmered with tears “We’ll make our family and we’ll have as many children as you desire, because I love you, Alex, with all my heart.”
“I love you too” he whispered, his eyes shining.
My mother whooped with joy in the background while the others also gave a shout of joy. Alex and I grinned. It was time to go back to the pack and leave Jordan and Blaze alone. No doubt they would relish the peace and quiet, I thought amused, as my mother continued to holler and whoop as loud as she could, and I wanted to get my mate alone in our bedroom, ready to start our own private little honeymoon, enjoying each other’s company and beginning the transition of becoming the new leaders of our pack now that we were wed. I couldn’t wait. Now, it was Jordan’s turn, I thought looking at her, hoping she would become married soon. Blaze had better hurry up, I thought amused, or else my mother would probably be on him to do it and she wouldn’t take no for an answer.
