Third Person POV
He was enraged as he was forced to flee. How dare that b***h Claudia to betray him like this? He never would have guessed she was capable of calling Alpha Blaze and informing him of the situation. He wondered if she had been offered money or something else as an incentive. She had claimed to be in love with him and had thrown it all away. Had she considered him to be disloyal now that he had discovered his true mate? He growled, his paws padding along the ground, tired and weary now that he had surpassed the borders, his paws bloody and cut up.
He knew that Alpha Blaze would not give up looking for him. He was known to be ruthless, one of the reasons his pack was so strong and he would not take kindly to how Drake had treated his precious daughter. He scowled. Why did Josie have to be so f*****g stubborn? Sure, he had wanted her to reject him but now, all his wolf wanted was her, with a fierce intensity that left him feeling more than possessive, his obsession bordering on insane as his humanity slowly began to slip away. Feral, he was going feral from the rejection and the pain of the bond severing. His wolf refused to give up on the bond that was gone, his mind only on claiming Josie for his own, even as he was forced to search for shelter, his anger rising as he was continually pursued.
A cave beckoned. Alpha Drake’s mouth twisted into a vicious smile. He trotted over to it, sniffing the air cautiously. There was no scent, no sign of life inside and he sidled inside, making his way cautiously to the back. His nostrils flared. He smelt a rogue, a man, further down and he snarled, the rogue turning to his feet, his eyes flashing red. He held up his hands, anger on his face.
“This is my cave” he snapped and Alpha Drake pushed his aura at him, the rogue trembling from the sheer force of it. The smell of rogues grew stronger. More enhanced and more pronounced. His ears pricked back. His wolf was smirking, ready to rip them all to shreds, malicious glee on its face.
The rogue shifted, it’s wolf form puny in comparison to Drake’s large one. Drake casually swiped at it, sending it crashing into the hard rock wall, causing it to give a yelp. It awkwardly got to its feet. Drake clamped his jaws on its neck and bit down, sending blood spurting everywhere. The rogue had been weak. Laughably so. He turned, a small group of rogues gathering in a semi-circle, poised to attack. None of them would stand a chance against his wolf, even if they attacked in tandem. Drake snarled, foaming at the mouth. They hesitated.
He shifted to his human form, his body covered in scrapes and bruises, his eyes glowing slightly red as he was no longer the Alpha of his pack and no longer accepted. He glared at the rogues, his voice still commanding, still possessing the Alpha tone despite his new status as part rogue. “Shift” he ordered, staring all of them down in defiance.
Angry growls came from the crowd, the wolves slowly shifting in reluctance, until a motley crew of misfits and thin, starving-looking people stood in front of him. Drake’s eyes glowed slightly brighter as he studied them.
“You’re all pathetic” he sneered, his eyes narrowing as he studied them carefully “disgusting and nauseating to look at. The smell of you alone is enough to make me sick” he growled as the rogues stared at him indignantly.
“f**k you” one dared to say, his voice rising, while the rest of the rogues looked at him in shock, unable to believe his stupidity.
Drake licked his lips, a vicious smile on his face. He took two steps and lifted the man up, his feet dangling as he gripped him tightly by the throat. The man clawed at his arm but he was no match for Drake’s strength. Drake eyed him coldly.
“That’s no way to treat your new Alpha” he breathed, the rogue’s eyes almost bulging out of his head now, as he fought for breath, wheezing, his lips turning blue.
“Our Alpha” stammered a woman rogue as Drake turned and looked at her.
She was a pretty thing, young, with red-brown hair and red glowing eyes. Her frame was thin and she had freckles on her nose. He frowned eyeing her. She reminded him, a little bit, about his mate. Her eyes shone with fear. He c****d his head and grinned at her, frightening her and the others even more. None of them dared to make a run for it. They would never make it to the entrance in time before he killed them. He was too fast.
“Yes, Alpha” he purred, hoisting the rogue higher in the air as he kicked, loosening his grip slightly, the man desperately drawing in oxygen “do you have any objections?” he asked, his voice dangerously quiet as he scanned each and every rogue deliberately. There were about a dozen of them. It wasn’t a huge number, but he could continue to add to his numbers and grow his own pack, a large enough one to take down his old one and get his mate.
The rogues glanced at one another. “I object” the one he was holding dared to say, still staring down at Drake with contempt.
The other rogues gasped. Drake was not about to let this rogue challenge his leadership. He simply tightened his grasp, breaking the rogue’s neck, and then threw him to the side, the body hitting the wall and sliding down, a large thud was heard as hi head hit the floor. The other rogues trembled. Drake gave a slow smile, watching them begin to move together in an attempt to comfort one another.
“Give me your loyalty and swear your allegiance to me as your Alpha” he instructed harshly “or die at my hand, right here and now.”
His tone was calm.
One by one, the rogues slowly knelt, whispering their oath of loyalty to Alpha Drake who grinned in satisfaction. When they were done, he shifted, the rogues following him as he attacked a farm on the outskirts of a country town, that consisted of humans. The rogues took care of the bodies and any traces of anybody living there, the farmhouse was rundown. The people they had killed had been squatters from all appearances and wouldn’t be missed. It was pure luck. The rogues settled down in the basement, eating and waiting for their orders when they were done doing Drake’s bidding. Drake’s footsteps sounded on the stairs, treading slowly, the rogues looking upwards with fright. He stopped at the base and eyed them. Everyone was back in human form. He spotted the girl, the one with reddish brown hair.
“What’s your name?” he asked directly, unable to remember it.
“Claudia” she whispered.
He couldn’t believe it. This girl had the misfortune to have the same name as the woman that had betrayed him while also reminding him of Josie. He chuckled to himself as the other rogues eyed each other uneasily.
“Come with me” he said icily.
The girl hesitated, looking at the others for help. Everybody avoided her eyes. Drake gave an impatient growl and grabbed her arm, yanking her to her feet as she gave a cry of pain. “Where are you taking me?” she stammered, as he began to drag her, stumbling behind him, his hand reaching to grab the back of her hair and help assist him with keeping her tightly leashed.
The other rogues looked uncomfortable but nobody made a move to stop him. The girl began to sob. “I have plans for you slut” Alpha Drake leaned down to murmur in her ear as she sniffled, shoving her through the basement door that connected to the main part of the house.
She fell to her knees, Alpha Drake grabbing her forcibly again “what are you going to do” she cried, trying to resist his pull. His smile chilled her to the bone. “You remind me of two different people. One I want to punish severely” he said nonchalantly as she began to whimper with anticipation, even as she forced herself to listen to what he had to say about the other person “the other one is my mate, who my wolf wants to f**k repeatedly, his body craving to be inside her. Can you guess what I have in store for you, after I’ve punished you?” he said, his eyes glinting with a hint of madness as she opened her mouth and began to scream, his hand covering her mouth to muffle the sound.
“No one is going to save you, so I wouldn’t bother” he murmured and he was right.
Her screams went unheeded as the night wore on, the rogues cringing down below as they listened to the blood curdling sound. When Claudia was shoved back down the steps in the morning, she was barely alive, her body covered in bites, whip marks, bruises and claw marks, along with a swollen eye and split lip. She was covered in his juices and she was incoherent. Alpha Drake looked at the others who were speechless. Rogues were ruthless but this was torture and they all knew she’d been sexually abused. Some of them felt like they were going to be sick.
“Tend to her” Alpha Drake said, a smile on his face, ignoring the shocked looks on the rogues faces, before turning away and heading back into the main house.
They would hole up in the house for a few days and then go searching for more rogues. Once he had amassed enough of a decent number, he would go back for Josie and this time, he wouldn’t fail to take her. Claudia was just a distraction from the real thing for now.
