                    Rohan POV
One by one, the bridesmaids, all clad in soft pastel purple dresses came walking down, holding bouquets of white and purple roses, joining the groomsmen and standing opposite them. I barely remembered their names, but all my attention was on waiting for my mate to exit the doors.
She stepped outside, her father Blaze, holding tightly onto her arm, her dress a gorgeous concoction of white. It gathered tightly around her breasts and then flowed out to her ankles, diamonds encrusted and formed around the bodice and on the hem. She wore spaghetti straps and although the dress was relatively simple, on Josie it looked absolutely stunning. Her hair was loose, cascading in simple waves down her back. Her baby bump was visible beneath the dress and she was glowing as her father led her gently down the aisle.
She took my breath away. Tears pricked the corners of my eyes as I watched her walk. It took all of my self-restraint not to walk down and meet her, wanting nothing more than to touch her, to see those eyes and get lost in them. I wanted to reach out and touch the swell of her belly that looked even more beautiful beneath her wedding dress. Her eyes sparkled in the light, adding to her allure and I swallowed hard, feeling lost for words. I was in a daze. Josie looked like a goddess and I had a hard time believing she was mine, that she was my mate, and that she was going to be my wife. She seemed too good for me and it all seemed too good to be true.
They paused at the end of the aisle, just before the rose arbor and Blaze looked at me sternly. “I’m trusting you with my daughter, don’t make me regret it,” he said thickly, and overcome with emotion I nodded, not trusting myself to speak.
I knew how much Josie meant to Blaze. How much she meant to her mother Jordan, who sat in the front pew, sobbing her heart out as she stared at her daughter. Blaze smiled at Josie lovingly, cupping her cheek. “Babygirl, I love you so much” he murmured “and I haven’t always been there for you when I should have. But I will always have your back when you need it. If for any reason, you need me or want to come back home, you call me and your mother. No matter what, we’ll always accept you with open arms, no questions asked.”
Josie gave a small sob and embraced her father while I digested his words, knowing they were a warning. He kissed her with infinite tenderness on her forehead and then released her, walking to his seat beside his own wife.
Josie’s eyes were swimming as she looked at me. My heart hammered in my chest. I took a step forward and wiped a tear away, taking hold of her hand gently. I led her beneath the rose arbor, gazing at her with love. “You look beautiful” I whispered as Minister Joe began to clear his throat.
Beautiful seemed such a nondescript way to put it. She was mesmerizing, alluring, compelling, and seductive. I squeezed her hand, watching as she quickly looked at her parents who smiled at her proudly. I knew she would miss them. They had spent the last few days together and were planning on staying until the pups were born and a little bit after. Josie had flourished having her parents here and her parents were overjoyed at seeing their daughter again and at the prospect of having not one, but two grandchildren. I smiled wryly to myself. Her father however had not failed to inform me of how displeased he was by some of my behaviour and advised me that he was keeping a close eye on me in case I failed to adhere to his standards while he was visiting.
Blaze was a hardass but he was only looking out for his daughter and I appreciated that. I was certain that if we ever had a daughter I would feel the same way in his shoes. I heard the Minister cough and reluctantly pulled my eyes away from Josie, long enough to see the Minister begin to speak, his eyes firmly fixed on the crowd which had hushed and gone completely silent.
“Ladies and gentlemen, shifters and humans,” he said as I frowned.
What humans? Who had permitted him to speak that sentence? The minister continued “we are gathered here today to witness the union of Alpha Rohan and Luna Josie in matrimony.”
My gaze scanned the crowd, daring anybody to object. If anybody so much as spoke a damn word I was going to rip their heads off, I thought with a snarl. Nobody so much as blinked as the minister continued with his speech.
Through it all, I never let go of Josie’s hand, until Minister Joe said the words I’d been waiting to hear the entire time, my impatience growing by the minute, even as Josie’s eyes softened and her smile grew wider. We said our vows, exchanged rings and then “you may now kiss the bride.”
I grabbed Josie and pulled her into me, bending her over and kissing her deeply on the lips as the crowd cheered and hollered. Josie’s cheeks turned pink as I dived my tongue inside and began to taste her and I heard a deafening growl coming from where her father had been sitting. Josie giggled and I reluctantly pulled back, her lips swollen as her father glared at us. She smoothed her dress down while the minister chuckled to himself.
“Any longer and I would have ripped your head off” Blaze snarled.
I blinked at him. His wife put a hand on his arm “Honey they are married, you can’t keep threatening Josie’s husband and mate.”
“I f*****g can” he grumbled as Josie laughed and kissed me on the cheek, pack members beginning to congratulate us. “I love you” I whispered, holding her against me, my arm wrapped around her waist.
“I love you” she whispered back, her eyes shining brightly “And I always will” she promised thickly, just as her parents began to come over and join us.
