Josie POV
This time when the contraction came, I bore down with all my might while letting out a bloodcurdling scream. I panted, falling back against the pillows, Rohan squeezing my hand. My mother patted my shoulder. “Good,” the doctor said, looking pleased “That was good Josie, keep doing exactly that.”
I pushed again and then again. The doctor shouted “The head is crowning. One more giant push and this baby boy will be born” she said and I felt determination rise inside of me.
I pushed with all my strength on the next contraction and saw the doctor with my baby boy in her arms. She quickly passed him to the nurse to check. He was crying and I had never heard a more beautiful sound in all my life. Rohan had tears in his eyes. My father and mother were beaming.
“Alright Josie, we still have another boy for you to bring into this world,” the doctor said briskly as I nodded, refocussing. I bore down, screaming, sweat dripping off me. There was nothing remotely glamourous about childbirth. “This one is crowning” the doctor shouted “One or two more pushes Josie and you’ll be finished. Come on now.”
Easy for her to say I thought with a groan. My wolf was urging me on as well, excited to see our pups. She was helping me through this whole thing and together we pushed hard, our next baby being delivered right into the doctor’s waiting arms. She quickly cut the cord and handed him to the nurse. Our firstborn was brought over to us while the second one was checked.
He was beautiful. The nurse placed him into my arms and I sobbed, looking down at my little prince with watery eyes. He had dark fuzzy hair and bright blue eyes. He was no longer crying and he had a pale smooth complexion. He stared at me with fascination and grabbed my finger while I felt nothing but love for my child. Rohan looked envious and I quietly offered our son to him. Rohan took a tentative hold and I watched my mate’s face light up as he met our son properly for the first time, my father looking over his shoulder and my mother watching from afar, their eyes shining.
My secondborn was offered to me. I held him. Just like our firstborn, he had the same adorable dark fuzzy hair and blue eyes. I kissed him on the cheek and then let my mother have a hold of him. My mother was in her element. Rohan graciously let my father hold our firstborn. The doctor finished up and then smiled at me.
“What are their names?”
Rohan and I looked at each other with knowing looks on our faces. We had agreed to these names only because they meant so much to us. I grinned.
“Blaze Junior,” I said casually as my father teared up “for our firstborn.”
“What about the other son?”
My mother was looking emotional as my father clutched his grandson tighter.
“Jordan junior,” I said quietly.
My mother burst into tears. “You named your children after us?” she blubbered.
“Of course. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you two” I told them honestly “and I can’t think of anyone else I would rather have as my son’s legacy. I love you both so much and if we have another son, they’ll have Rohan’s name” I said looking at my husband who nodded with satisfaction on his face. “But you’re the reason that I found my mate and you’re the reason I have my sons in the first place. You’re going to be fabulous grandparents to them. I hope you don’t mind I gave them your names.”
“Mind” my father spluttered “It’s an honor,” he said chokingly.
He passed Rohan back our son and hugged me. My mother passed me back Jordan and hugged me, sobbing quietly. Rohan rocked Blaze, who seemed to be getting a tad unsettled. My mother’s eyes were knowing.
“I think he might be getting hungry,” she said thickly.
Ah. Rohan looked a tad bit helpless. My mother chuckled as I awkwardly began to pull the gown down and my father abruptly turned away. “Do you want some help?” she offered.
I nodded “Please. I’m not quite sure of what I’m doing” I admitted.
My mother helped me get Blaze and Jordan into position to breastfeed, Rohan watching carefully as she also guided him into what he could do to help. My sons were naturals, latching right onto the n****e and greedily sucking. I was tired and I yawned. But I also badly wanted to get clean. My mother smiled.
“Once they are done feeding, we can watch them, so that Rohan can help you shower and get freshened up,” she said wisely “The first thing I wanted once you had fed was a shower,” she said wryly “and I’m betting you feel the same way.”
I nodded with a grin. My father turned back and smiled, before going to his wife and kissing her tenderly on the lips. “Brings back memories, doesn’t it?” he asked her fondly.
My mother laughed “It sure does. But I think I can live with just being a grandparent now. I like my sleep” she joked and my father laughed.
“I don’t know, I had forgotten how cute they are when they are small” he murmured and my mother swatted him playfully. “Well forget it, ’cause it’s not happening,” she told him warningly.
We all laughed. My father pretended to pout. Rohan sat beside me, his eyes staring at us all with awe. “You look stunning,” he told me as I looked at him in disbelief.
“I think you need your eyes checked,” I told him with a laugh and he shook his head.
“No, you do. Motherhood suits you. I can’t wait until we can get back to the pack and show everyone our sons. They’re all going to be so excited about it.”
I grinned and felt my sons begin to slow down with their suckling. I touched their pudgy little cheeks “My little Alpha son’s” I murmured lovingly “What spoilt princes you will be.”
How right I was.
