???'s POV
"What I wanted to say was that you grew up less civilized than those of us who were raised in a stable pack," Declan explained. Rollo huffed. His chest heaved. He was tired of the guys in Zander's pack treating him like he was a nuisance. "Rollo?" Declan called to him. "What's wrong?"
'Rollo is unavailable right now,' The thick velvety voice of Rollo's wolf, Muffy said.
"Muffy, what the fuck! Calm down," Declan tried to reason with him, but it was too late, Muffy was in full control. He raised his elongated claws and slashed Declan multiple times across his face and neck.
"What in Hecate's name is happening back there?" Isis shouted as her head spun around to investigate the cause of the commotion.
"ROLLO... DECLAN, YOU TWO WILL STOP IT NOWWW!" Alpha roared out.
Zander's dominance was so powerful that Muffy needed to submit. He needed to kneel to his Alpha.
"Oh, shit!" Declan cursed. His welts were raw and bloody, but he completely forgot about his wounds as Rollo began to transform. "Alpha, he's shifting in the car!"
"Muffy, control yourself, now!" Zander growled.
'I can't, my Alpha, I am trying, but I can't control it.'
And he was right. When a wolf starts to transform, there was nothing they could do to reverse it.
"Isis, can you do something about this?" Zander asked.
"I cannot stop nature, Alpha. We just have to let him shift."
"Ok. But not in my fucking, Subaru." Zander was on a narrow bridge. He decided to drive a little further before he pulled over.
"Fucking rogue," Declan whispered to himself. He was upset that he had to stop in the middle of nowhere because Rollo couldn't control his shift.
'What was that, virgin boy?' Muffy spat. He lunged for Declan's throat. His sudden movement sent his foot across the back of the driver's seat, sending Zander's chest smashing into the steering wheel.
"FUCK! HOLD ON," Zander warned as he tried to steady the unruly car, but he was unsuccessful. The car rode the rails of the bridge and then it flipped.
It rolled, scraping snow along the road. It slid until it crashed in a large oak tree. The tree saved the car from falling down the precipice.
Heartbeats cried out in unison. The survivors of the wreck were struggling to shake the ringing from their ears.
Muffy's snout was out and his paws were already transformed.
"Everyone ok?" Zander asked. They all answered yes, except Rollo.
"Alpha, we have to get Rollo out of here before his transformation completes. We would have to cut the car open to get him out in his wolf form," Declan explained.
Rollo thrashed around. He growled and fought his wolf for power. He was trying to delay the change as long as he possibly could. The movements again shook the jeep and it crept closer and closer to the edge. Declan shouted to the others not to move.
"We have to exit through the windscreen," Zander said. The jeep was on its side, so everyone was also laying on their sides. Zander moved his leg slowly and then kicked the glass with enough force to break it.
"Help me, bloodsucker!" Declan yelled. Dimitri still had his eyes closed throughout the entire ordeal. "Un-fucking-believable!" Declan cursed.
Dimitri slowly opened his eyes. "What did I miss?"
"You sleep like a dead man. Did you not feel the crash?" Dimitri shook his head. "Ok, then. Help me keep Rollo steady."
Dimitri used his shoulder and pushed himself closer to the two wolves. Declan's back was to him and Declan's arms were wrapped around Rollo's torso, pinning his hands to his sides. Dimitri spooned Declan and stretched his hands around to help him contain Rollo's shaking body.
"Don't get any funny ideas, pup."
"Just shut up and help me to hold him steady."
Zander slowly climbed out of the windscreen. "Isis, grab my hand," he reached his hand out for Isis to take. He lifted her out with ease. "Who is next?"
"Declan, you go."
"Are you sure?"
The car titled more to the cliff.
"Yes, I am certain. Besides, if I die...well, I mean die permanently, at least I would die a happy vampire. I would never forgive myself if I let you die a virgin." Dimitri knew that it would take more than a car crash to kill him.
Declan crawled to the front seat and Zander helped him out of the wrecked vehicle.
With three bodies removed from the car, the weight of the transforming wolf and the vampire was too much for the jeep to hold steady. It tilted further to the edge. Zander and Declan grabbed the front of the car. They pulled on it, trying to drag it from the edge. A loud howl rang through the cold air, and they knew that Muffy was fully transformed. The heavy wolf caused the jeep to slide off the cliff. Zander and Declan tried with all their might to keep it from falling, but they failed.
Isis was a bit shaken up from the crash but the old witch powered up, and she cast a visible magical rope made from light and air. She wrapped it around the car. "I won't be able to pull it back up, but I can lessen the impact to the ground."
They watched the green crushed body of iron rolled down the bank. With a loud BANG! It crashed to the bottom.
"Isis, can you get down there on your own?"
"Of course, Alpha," she scoffed.
Zander and Declan dropped on their butts and glided down the snowy slope. They hit the bottom in less than a minute.
"Took you long enough."
They were stunned when they saw Isis waiting for them at the bottom.
"But... How did you?"
"Never mind the how, Declan. Let's just check on the guys."
They hurried to the smoking SUV. Dimitri was flung a few feet out the windscreen. He was rubbing his head and dusting his hair of snow.
"Are you alright, Dimitri?"
"Yes, Zander. Now go check on the mutt."
Muffy's large body was stuck in the car. He looked hurt. A few shards were piercing his torso.
"Shit! Hold on, Muffy," Zander turned to Isis. "Can you get him out?"
"I can try, but we have to do it fast. He is bleeding out."
Zander took another look. A loose piece of iron was inserted in Muffy's back, crimson liquid oozed out in waves. He would heal if it was removed, but right then he was bleeding out.
"Ok, Isis. Do what you must."
Isis performed her spell and the car's roof began to bend apart. So were the doors and the windows.
Zander helped to pry the car apart, to dig Muffy out. He peeled and peeled away pieces of the car with Isis' help. Adrenaline pumped through his veins. Sweat washed his skin beneath his snowsuit. He continued to scrape away particle after particle until Muffy howled.
"Zander, wait!" Isis insisted. "Something is wrong. A piece of glass is embedded in his chest."
"Shit." Zander gasped.
