                    ZANDER'S POV
"Muffy, try to stay still. I know you're in pain buddy, but just hang in there, we'll get you out."
'We've got to act fast. There's too much blood.'
'I know, Gidian.'
I quickly formulated a plan. It had to work.
"Muffy, listen to me. You have to give Rollo back control. It's the only way we will be able to get you out."
The large black wolf looked at me, and then he whimpered. The poor thing was getting weak, and he was in an immense amount of pain.
"Order him to do it, Zander. He'll want to obey your command," Isis suggested.
"I know, but I'm worried that my Alpha tone will cause him more harm than good."
Rollo was a born rogue. They did not learn the way we did, to control our shifts and how to submit. Ever since he's been accepted in my pack, his reactions to my authority were very unusual.
He would adhere to my every command without so much as a question or even batting an eyelash.
Carson joked once that if I commanded Rollo to allow me to fuck Isabelle, he would gladly let me do so. Now I see what he meant.
"The Pooch is right, Isis. You saw what happened in the car earlier when Zander commanded him. I've never seen anything like that before."
Dimitri was right. Even though my wolves could not resist my sovereignty and dominance, it did not mean that they agreed with my plans or what I ordered them to do, but with Rollo/Muffy, it was different. Each commission established in my Alpha tone, he submits to it like they were coming directly from the Moon Goddess herself.
The cracking of bones jolted me from my thoughts and I watched as a wounded Muffy transformed into a wounded Rollo. Isis hurried to the naked werewolf. His body was painted with blood. It made it almost impossible to find the beginning of the flow.
"Get me something to dry this blood," Isis yelled. I unwrapped my scarf and handed it to the witch. She cleaned his frame from as much blood as the cloth would allow. Then we saw his scratches. Tiny splinters decorated his body, like the way the stars adorned the sky.
"We will have to remove them for him to heal," I told Isis. I extended my claws, ready to pull out the splinters.
"Asha Mamasha!" Isis chanted. The tiny pieces of glass floated out Rollo's torso and disappeared into thin air.
"Or we could just do that," I said as I retreated my claws. The small wounds started to heal. She removed the steel from his back. It pierced nothing important. Isis used my scarf to tie the wound. The glass was still in his chest. I could tell that it started to pierce his heart. Isis said that she could not remove it until she got to the coven. She's going to need some herbs to perform a spell that would be able to help stop him from bleeding out until his healing kicked in. That wound was terrible, it would take at least half an hour for his healing to be activated in that area of his body. "But we still have four or five hours of walking to get to the coven."
"I know. But I will portal Rollo and myself in."
Portal? Shit, I forgot she could do that. "So why not portal us all in from the get-go, this could have saved us hours, Isis?" I was a bit pissed that she didn't mention this earlier. We could have avoided all this chaos. She looked at Dimitri and so he spoke.
"It's because of me. She rode with us instead of portaling in because I cannot travel using portals."
"And why is that?" I asked.
"It's because he is a vampire. My portals allow nothing unnatural to pass through its doors," Isis sighed.
Rollo groaned in pain. "Ok, Isis, get him out of here now," I advised.
Isis opened her portal and Declan and I helped Rollo to his feet. "Can you stand by yourself?"
"Yes, Alpha," he breathed out.
"You both can leave with the witch. I will see you in a couple of hours."
"No, I am staying behind with you. Declan, you can go with them," I spoke.
"No, Alpha. I am travelling with the two of you."
I scowled. I was hoping he'd travel with Isis, so I would not have to look at his face for the next five hours.
Isis curled her hand around Rollo's waist, he reached his arm around her neck. I watched as the portal closed, leaving the three of us behind.
"Come on, Alpha. Rollo will be fine, plus I think we should move on now. I smell gasoline," Declan's nose flared and mine did the same. The petrol was strong, I could almost taste it on my tongue.
We walked a few miles in complete silence until we came upon the bottom of Dead Man's Peak.
"WOW," Declan gawked. The vampire whistled and even I was marvelled at the beauty that stood before me.
The mountain range laid to the north, challenging the horizon. Dawn was now breaking and the beautiful florescent rays of the sun reflected off the chalky snow that scattered all over the colossal mountain. The effect was blinding as I observed the sunlight touching the peak. The mountain greeted the heavens with a kiss as the golden rays caused a tiny glimmer to wink at us down below.
I made the first step and my feet sank into the carpet of sleet. I moved along the slopes as the wind picked up speed the more I elevated. I staggered a few occasions as I climbed the vast mound. The unruly breeze tried to push me back a few times but I did not let it win.
I admired the snow glazed alpine scene as I continued up the tilt.
"This is beautiful." I heard Declan say, and I nodded my head in agreement.
I glanced behind me and I saw miles and miles of the valley. I even noticed my car and it looked so tiny in the distance. It was now on fire, and I was glad we got Rollo out in time.
"That automobile was ugly anyway," Dimitri chuckled. I sighed and then we continued on our journey.
Suddenly, a loud commotion was heard. Our heads snapped in the direction of the noise. The fucking car exploded! The eruption woke up the mountain. It filled it with fury and wrath.
The mountain shook. It roared and rumbled as the winds howled and screamed. The forceful breeze blew a gale like a hurricane that warned us with the intrepid journey ahead.
The mountain trembled beneath our feet. "What the fuck!" Declan cried. The trees up ahead were the first things that went falling as dozens of cracking sounds resonated around the vast cliff. Tons of snow came barreling down in forces like a waterfall.
"FUCK! IT'S AN AVALANCHE!"
The echoes from the explosion shook the snowy ridge that resulted in an avalanche.
"We can outrun it. We are faster," Declan asserted.
"Yes, you are right. But there's a problem."
"What is it?" Declan squinted his brows.
I pointed in the opposite direction. The Valley was surrounded by four snowy Highlands. The snow was coming from all four directions. Even if we outran the running snow that threatened to cover us, we would run towards another wave of bone-crushing snow.
"FUCK, WHAT SHOULD WE DO ALPHA?" Declan panicked as the realization kicked in.
Before I could speak, I felt a hand on the collar of my coat and I, along with Declan were being lifted off the ground. As soon as we were a few feet in the air, I observed as the snow rolled pass where we stood. We stared for a few more seconds until it met and settled in the middle of the valley. I was later dropped on my back on the snow-covered mountain.
"What the fuck, Dimitri," I said as I rubbed the back of my head.
"You are welcome, mutts. Now let's move on. I am getting thirsty," he flashed me his fangs.
Shit! "Ok, but how did you do that? I didn't know vampires could fly?"
"We can't. But we can leap and hover. Now let's go. It's already 7 am."
I recomposed myself and continued up the mountain.
"Alpha, I need to take a dump."
"Fuck! Declan. I did not need to hear that."
Dimitri and I left Declan to do his business behind a fallen tree.
'I wonder what he'll substitute for toilet paper?'
'I don't know, Gidian. But I am keeping my fingers crossed that he'll run into some poison ivy.'
Gidian and I laughed as we continued on our journey to find our sister.
