???'s POV
"I think we should speed-run from here," Zander said, and the other two supernaturals agreed. They zoomed the next couple of miles until they approached the top of the mountain.
"There's nothing up here," Declan spun around in circles trying to see if he could identify a building, a cave... anything. "There's nothing here than snow and trees."
"But I sense something... I sense great power coming from over there," Zander pointed to the centre of the peak. "My wolf is even picking up on hundreds of odd smells."
"I detect it too," Dimitri conceded.
They sniffed and tried to locate where the scent was coming from. "Over there, it's coming from over there," Zander pointed once again at the centre of the peak of the mountain.
"That's crazy, Alpha. There is nothing there. It's just a cliff, " Declan sighed.
But Zander walked up to the peak and stepped to the edge, and then he did something that stunned Dimitri and Declan... he jumped off the precipice.
"Alpha!" Declan shouted. He ran up to the cliff and fell to his knees. He activated his were-vision.
"What do you see?" Dimitri questioned.
"Nothing... There's nothing there than the grate below us."
"For god's sake. I should have known your Alpha was suicidal," Dimitri scoffed. "Scoot over, young lad, let me take a look," Dimitri sighed. Declan sauntered to his feet and brushed off the snow and dirt from his knees. Dimitri squatted and examined the long drop to the ground below him. "Quite interesting," he rubbed his chin in wonder.
"What? What is so interesting?" Declan was getting annoyed as he worried about his Alpha.
"Seems there are beings below there... They smell like witches, but I cannot see nor hear them... I guess your Alpha sensed them too."
Declan hurried back to the cliff. It took him a while to pick up on what the vampire said. "Yes, you are right, bloodsucker. My wolf can sense them too." Dimitri stood to his feet and adjusted himself. Declan watched as he made a step too close to the edge. "Wait! Hold on. What are you planning on doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing, young mutt? I am going to jump."
"But... You don't know what's down there."
"For fuck's sake." In one swift movement, Dimitri grabbed Declan by the shoulders and threw him off the cliff. "Watch out for the landing, little pup!" Dimitri yelled over the cliff.
"I... Am... gonna... kill...yoooou... blood...suckerrrrrr. Ahhhh!" Declan shouted as he plummeted to the unknown.
"Very well then," Dimitri chuckled as he leapt off the ridge.
ZANDER'S POV
What is this place? I asked myself as I took in my surroundings. I was not in the mountains anymore... It wasn't even snowing. The trees were ten times larger than any I have seen before. There was greenery everywhere, and the air was thick and fresh. I was in awe.
"So nice of you to join us, Alpha," Isis walked up to me and patted my back. "Where are the other two?" She questioned. I pointed to the sky. "Oh, I see, they haven't figured out that the cliff is an illusion, a very shitty one at that."
"Come on Isis, we tried our best, besides we hardly ever get strays," a blue-haired pretty young girl stated. "Heads up," she pointed in the air. We averted our eyes to the sky.
"Ahhhh!!!" There was a blue flash of light and then Declan came plopping down like a skydiver without a parachute.
"Slowlabolo," Isis' hands went up, a white light encased Declan, and then he was gently placed on his feet. "Are you ok, Declan? What were you thinking jumping off the cliff like that? You could have killed yourself," Isis scolded.
Declan put up a finger, then clutched his chest, I could hear his heart beating like thunder in his rib cage. "I... Did... Not... Jump," he stopped to catch his breath, "I was pushed."
"WHAT?" Isis and I asked concurrently.
"Ah, everyone is here... Now let's get to business. I have a mate to find." Dimitri made a perfect landing, he fixed his collar as he prepared his way over to us.
"You undead piece of shit... I am gonna kill you, you asshole," Declan lunged at him.
"STOP!" A collar composed of shimmering blue light was wrapped tightly around Declan's neck. "There will be no violence here, it is forbidden," the blue-haired girl spat.
"And who are you, you sexy little Smurf?" Dimitri grinned and she growled at the vampire.
"This is Imogen, she is the head witch at this coven," Isis explained.
"Well, I am delighted to meet you, Imogen," Dimitri cooed.
"Yes, so am I, but do you think you can release my Gamma now? I'm sure he'll be on his best behaviour from now on." I gave Declan a stringent look. Imogen let go of Declan, and he fell to the ground. He cupped his neck while he gasped for air.
"Shit... Seems like everyone is out to get me tonight."
True, I thought. Declan had no idea what I was planning for him.
"Isis, what about Rollo... Is he ok?"
"He is alright, Zander. He just needs a couple of hours' rest, and he'll be good as new."
"Splendid, splendid. Now, Imogen," Dimitri hummed out the witch's name, "Where can a vampire get some blood to drink around these parts? I am parched."
"Follow me. We have a few humans living here," she said with disgust lacing her voice.
"Oh, marvelous," Dimitri scratched his head. "Another thing."
"Yes?" Imogen flashed him a fake smile.
"I would prefer my supplier to be at least eighteen and I only consume AB positive or negative blood. It is most satisfying... plus it keeps my hunger at bay a lot longer."
We all looked at Dimitri with wide eyes. Where the fuck did he think we were, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA?
"Is there anything else you may like, sir?" Imogen rolled her eyes.
"Now that you asked, I would also appreciate my supplier to be of a warmer than average temperature. The blood flows down my throat a lot smoother the higher their body temperatures... Maybe someone feverish, perhaps?" Dimitri was hopeful.
"Listen here, you filthy demon... First of all, you won't be biting anyone here, you'll be drinking from a blood bag. We keep a few around in case the humans get sick."
"A blood bag? How low-class," Dimitri grimaced.
"Oh, Goddess Hecate," Imogen shook her head. "You are behaving like you are royalty or something... Well, I am sorry your highness," Imogen curtsied as a mockery. "We only have O positive blood and it's refrigerated... But I can have it warmed for you, your royalness."
Dimitri gulped. "That won't be necessary, I will just have to endure this until I get back to civilization."
"That's it, Dimitri, you will be respectful of our host. We are guests here," I warned.
"You are so right. My apologies, Miss Imogen," he bowed and took the young witch's hand and placed a chaste kiss. She yanked her hand from Dimitri's grip.
"Don't attempt to swoon me, vampire, I don't like sausages. I am an oyster and clam girl."
"I beg your pardon, I do not understand."
"I'm a lesbian," she deadpanned.
"That would explain why my irresistible smile and sexy accent is not working."
"Just come with me, vampire."
"Yes, I am coming." He continued to question the young lady as he walked with her.
"He is unlike any vampire I have ever met... It's almost like he has a soul," Isis whispered.
"Hmm... I am still trying to figure him out," I confessed, and Isis chuckled.
"Hey, Dimitri," Isis called to him, he turned around and cocked an eyebrow at us, "Welcome to the White Tree Coven."
He smirked and continued to go get his blood.
Isis and I heard an annoying chewing sound. I craned my neck to see Declan eating a weird fruit from one of the trees. "This is wonderful, Alpha. You should try some," he declared with a full mouth.
"No, thanks, man. I am good."
"You better spit that out right now, child. That fruit is called Panis Kullet, if you eat too much, it will make your penis fall off, " Isis replied.
Declan vomited. "Shit! Shit,! Man and I haven't even used my dick as yet," he started to panic.
"Come on, let me take a look at those scratches on your face," Isis pulled him by the arm. "I was just joking, young man."
Declan sighed in relief.
"You two go ahead, I will catch up with you later."
I walked around a bit. 'Come on Zander, I need to go for a run.'
'Ok, Gidian, let's go.'
My bones snapped out of place as my body morphed into my wolf. Together we explored the outskirts of the White Tree Coven. I felt like there was something there I was supposed to find and then I saw them, glowing red eyes watching us from behind the trees.
'Do you see them?'
'Yes, I do,' I answered.
'They seem so familiar,' Gidian confessed.
'I think I know who those eyes belong to,' I replied as I made my way towards the swirling red orbs.
