                    ZANDER'S POV
More than a dozen vampires were discovered near the borders of Wolf's Pond. I had been oblivious to why suddenly they were creeping so close to my fucking borders.
My wrath was flourishing. No one should defy me. I am the demon wolf and I had this feeling that something was going on beneath my nose that I knew nothing of.
"Carson, round up Declan and Duncan, tell them to go to the location of the Beeswax Motel and survey those vamps," I ordered my beta.
Carson's eyes glossed over and I knew he passed on my orders. "They're on it, Alpha."
Now the quicker I got to this fucking meeting, the quicker those bastards would get the fuck off my premises.
I required everybody to be there, so I mind-linked Allen to assemble all the werewolves eighteen and over to the field outside. There were estimated to be around two hundred thousand werewolves coming.
Fuck, Zoey! "Carson, where the fuck is my sister?"
"Alpha, I know you told me to keep an eye on her, but the girl gave me the slip, man. I'm telling you she's gonna be the best tracker in the pack."
Carson was right. My little sister was an excellent tracker. She could pick up scents from miles away and she could also hide her tracks pretty well.
"What are you still standing here for? Go fucking find her," I yelled.
Zoey had been sneaking off for weeks now. She thought I didn't know because I never asked her about it, but now that we had vampires so close to our borders we had to keep safe, so I ordered Carson to keep an eye on her. I didn't know why they were here or which clan they were from. I did not trust them one bit.
TWO HOURS LATER
"I didn't find her Alpha, I don't know where she went." Carson came back with news that I didn't want to hear.
"What the fuck you mean you didn't find her? Where is my fucking sister?"
Carson flinched at my outburst. Gidian was out of control, he was howling for me to let him free. Zoey was always disobeying us. She was the most unruly wolf of them all.
"Good morning, Alpha Zander."
I directed my awareness towards the owner of the voice. "Welcome to my abode, Alpha Fabian, it's a pleasure having you," I greeted the old wolf.
Fabian Wormington was one of the few Alphas that I did not associate with. He's conniving and vindictive, just like his father and Alpha before him. "There's no need to be modest, young Alpha, I know you despise me," he spoke with a glint in his eyes. "Let's walk together since we are both heading to the gathering."
I led the way, but something felt off. I could smell death, but it was unnatural.
"VAMPIRES!" On my land and there were thousands of them. I was about to shift and sound the alarm.
"Relax, young Alpha, they were invited."
"Invited by whom?" I wanted to know the person who invited these abominations to my lands, so I could rip their head off.
"The Supernatural Council," Fabian deadpanned. I heard Carson gasp behind us.
You got to be fucking kidding me! Why the fuck was the Council here?
"I thought this was a werewolf only meeting?"
Fabian offered me a deceitful grin. I could tell he was thrilled about something and that something was someone else's misfortune. He rubbed his palms together and for a second I saw an ominous expression in his eyes, but it disappeared as fast as it appeared. "Ah! Alpha Zander, you don't have a phone, how do you expect to know what's going on in the other supernatural communities?"
Fuck, he was right. I have to tell Carson to get me one of those telephones.
We were almost near the field where this meeting was taking place.
"So what do they want and why are they here?" I inquired. This must be critical for the Council to be here.
"I know as much as you do Zander, and that's that they request this meeting for us all to be present," he grinned.
'I can smell his lie.'
'Me too, Gidian.'
"So they decide to use my lands without asking for my permission? THOSE FUCKERS!"
"We all know you occupy the largest territories. There was no other place that was big enough to host so many supernatural creatures."
FUCK! "What other creatures are here, other than werewolves and vampires?"
"Faes and Witches," he answered.
"I FUCKING HATE WITCHES."
"Alphas Zander and Fabian, it's so convenient of you to join us."
Oh Fuck, it undoubtedly was serious, the fucking Fairy Queen was here.
"It's lovely to see you, Queen Magdalena," Fabian greeted as we bowed to the enchanting beauty, and then we took our seats.
"We don't have time to wait for anyone else. Our Queen needs to get back to the Fae world ASAP, it's not safe for her here," Alfonso spoke. I hated that guy, he lived in the Fae world as Queen Magdalena's advisor. He's human, and he's responsible to administer all her businesses that occurs outside the Fae world. I have had a few meetings with him myself. The guy rubbed me the wrong fucking way.
"It's ok, Alfonso. I'll take it from here," the enchantress stated. Her skin looked like it was made up of actual gold. Her hair was a beautiful mixture of gold and baby blue, and her wings looked like crystallized sugar. It was marvellous.
I glanced around trying to locate my cousin, Lucian. He was the emissary for the werewolves, but I didn't see him. I saw the ambassador for the vampires. His name was Nicholi Winterbourne. He was the oldest vampire alive and the King of his undead people. Next to Nicholi sat his wife, Katherine Winterbourne and their daughter, Danika Winterbourne and for a vampire, she was fucking hot.
An empty seat was next to Danika, it was most likely for her brother Dimitri, who was known for his womanizing ways. For some reason, I did not remember ever having the pleasure of meeting him.
The next seat beside them belonged to the harbinger for the witches, Isis, but she was also missing.
"Let us begin," Magdalena spoke. "Supernatural creatures have been going missing, and some have been turning up dead."
A chorus of gasps erupted from the crowd.
