                    GERARD'S POV
"Ingrid, are you sure you mixed the potion exactly as Isis said?" I asked after my nose got a whiff of the awful smell.
"Stop your whining and drink the thing. I have a mate to fuck. I'm trying to get pregnant again," Ingrid complained and Allen stiffened beside her.
"But your son is not even 3 months old."
"Gerry, a fool like you won't understand, just drink," she shoved the spoon in my mouth.
'Oh sweet Moon Goddess, this taste like swamp water,' Percy complained.
"Jesus Christ! Ingrid. This is awful," I coughed.
"Is either this or you'll walk into that assembly hall and be killed on the spot when those hunters learn you're a werewolf," Cleo added.
"I know Pretty girl, but why can't these potions be incorporated into fried chicken recipes or pie mixtures," I sucked my teeth.
"Shut up Gerry - now how do you feel?" Ingrid asked.
"Fine."
"Allen, can you smell his wolf?" Ingrid inquired.
"No, I can't - it's like he's human," Allen said, surprised.
"Excellent," Ingrid said. "My work here is done."
'Gerry, why do I feel so sleepy?'
'I don't know.'
"Ingrid, Percy isn't feeling too good." I felt my wolf getting weaker by the second.
"Yeah, that's the whole point. He'll be out for a couple of hours. Those hunters will never be able to detect him."
Fuck!
"So what's the plan?" I asked.
"Allen, Topher, Cleo and Ingrid will accompany you," Duncan explained. "But only Ingrid will enter the premises with you."
"Fuck no, my mate is not going in there," Allen grunted.
"It's ok babe. I will be alright. The hunters don't know about me since I grew up in Africa. Plus I will cast a spell so that my magic will be undetected - unless I use it, plus I made a fake hunter's I.D."
"I don't like this neither does Bruto," Allen moaned. "What if they catch you?"
"Allen, stop being a Debby downer, I'll be fine, I'm the second strongest witch on earth," Ingrid chuckled.
Duncan explained the rest of the plan. Ingrid would go in sit through the assembly and learn what the hunters are planning meanwhile I search the building to try and figure out who the High Lord was, but something told me he was Chastity's uncle, Bernard. He was so into hunting that he left his wife and kids years ago. But I said nothing to these werewolves, I knew they would kill him on spot without finding out if he really was a threat.
"Ok, I'll meet you guys in ten minutes," I told them, then I went to go freshen up.
Ten minutes later I met Ingrid, Topher, Cleo and Allen outside.
"I'm driving," Cleo said as she entered Sheila.
I went into the passenger's side and Allen, Ingrid and Topher piled into the back. "Ok, let's kill some hunters," Topher beamed.
"Topher, we're not killing anybody," I sighed.
"Unless we have to," Cleo added, then she started the engine.
"Yeah, let's hunt those hunters," Allen chuckled.
"Cleo, just drive before my brain explodes," Ingrid laughed. "You wolves need to chill."
Half an hour later we were pulling up to the university. The council was meeting in the grand auditorium.
We parked at the end of the lot, Cleo thought it would be the safest in case we needed a quick getaway.
"We could just shift and runoff in the woods if we need to get away," I yelped.
"Think Gerry, the hunters would expect wolves to run off in the woods in case something goes wrong, so they probably already set up a few traps - wolves escaping in a car would be less likely," Cleo smirked. She had a point.
"Look new pup, wolves in our pack never back from a fight," Topher puffed his chest.
"Yeah, Gerry. We fight to the death," Allen added.
"Jesus Christ!" I gulped.
"No babe, we don't worship that fellow - it's dear Moon Goddess, plus we don't fear death, in fact, if we die our spirits go back to the Moon Goddess," Cleo explained.
"Ok, good to know." I didn't know why I was feeling so scared, I didn't feel this way when we were battling the dark witches.
Ingrid saw my discomfort. "Relax Gerry, I know you're scared, but it's just because your wolf is dormant at the moment."
So, my wolf gave me bravery.
"You're a pussy without your wolf," Topher scoffed.
"Shut up, Topher!" Cleo warned.
"Sorry, Cleo, but it's the truth."
"Hey man, what's your problem? You and your brother have been giving me a hard time since I joined the pack - is it because I'm mated to Cleo?"
"No fucktard, it's because Chastity told us how you broke her heart."
Fuck!
"Well, I'm a changed man or wolf - I've already apologised."
"But can you unfuck her though?" Topher snarled. He stepped up to me. His nose touched mine. His canines were out and his eyes black.
"Break it up - we need to be worrying about the hunters, we don't have time to be fighting with each other." Cleo stepped in between us, her back pressed against my front, and she used her palms to shove Topher away from me.
"This is the most exciting thing I've witnessed today," Allen chuckled.
"I think Carson and Dimitri's bickering took the cake," Ingrid swatted Allen's arm.
Topher finally dropped his serious posture, then he dragged his thumb across his neck and pointed at me.
Oh, God! These wolves were fucking crazy.
"Come on Gerry, we've got to get going," Ingrid pulled on my arm.
"Yeah, you guys should go. Cleo will wait by the car, Topher will scout the back door, and I will watch the front - in case you guys are in trouble signal us," Allen said.
"How?" I wanted to know.
"Don't worry Gerry, I'll figure something out," Ingrid smirked.
"You both be careful," Cleo kissed me and Ingrid Kissed Allen.
Hand in hand we went up to the door. Ingrid dressed in a backless silver dress and matching heels made my poor excuse for a suit look like shit.
A bulky guy was standing at the entrance, he had a bald head. He was wearing a silver armour like he was some kind of knight.
Two guys with guns stood at each side of him, they were muscular and tall, they were dressed in plain black and marching, keeping watch like soldiers. A red glare caught my eyes, and I looked up to where it was coming from and noticed half a dozen snipers on the roof.
Fuck!
The strangest thing was when we got up to the security, he did nothing than ask us our names.
"Gerard Smith," I said.
"Ah, Mr. Smith, welcome," he greeted.
"Thank you, this is my date, Ingrid Zamunda."
"Yes, her name is on the list, but I think the system made a mistake. This meeting is for level 3 hunters and above. New recruits aren't allowed."
"Come on man, this is our first date since forever, don't let this little thing dump me because I messed this up," I tried to talk our way in.
"I can't. Rules are rules, and you know what we hunters do with rule-breakers."
"Ok, I understand handsome," Ingrid said to the guard. Then she turned to me. "Gerry baby, I wanted to wait until later to tell you, but I'm pregnant - you're gonna be a dad," Ingrid bounced up and down. "I thought I couldn't have children Gerry, but God has granted us a miracle." A tear slipped out her eye.
She circled her palms around my neck and pulled me in for a hug, then she whispered in my ear. "Play along."
Right!
"Sugarpuss, this is the best news ever - I'm so happy," I hugged her tighter.
We heard sniffles coming from the guard. "This is beautiful, I never had a family," he wipes his tears with the back of his hand. "You two make a handsome couple."
"Thanks," I replied.
"What are you waiting for man? Kiss her, she just told you good news. I believe you should always kiss your girl when she announces happy news - so do it then you both can go on in."
I gulped.
"You heard the man, Gerry kiss me - but due to the morning sickness you'll have to hold back that tongue," Ingrid warned.
I closed my eyes and leaned in, I felt her lips against mine, then she clutched my shoulders for effect.
I heard two painfully loud howls.
Shit! Cleo and Allen saw, now we'll have to deal with them later.
"Wolves," the guard whispered. "You two go in, I'll send one of the other guys to go check it out."
"That's it, you're just letting us in like this?" I found it strange, no silver test, no wolf's bane. Something was off.
"Yeah, look, just go in before I change my mind."
"Come on Gerry, let's just go inside," Ingrid whispered.
"Something doesn't feel right."
"I second that, but for now, let's just be grateful that we're in."
With her arm looped into mine, we made our way inside.
