                    GERARD'S POV
"Yeahhhh," the crowd shouted.
"They've slaughtered our brothers, fathers, sons and friends and I promise you that this will stop today," he grinned.
A fellow raised his hand and Bernard gestured for him to speak. "But how do we do that? They are stronger and faster than us."
"True, but as I said, we have developed a plan."
"What plan?"
"I'm happy you asked," he paused. "Bring out the beast."
The beast?
A few seconds later, I saw Parker and Justin dragging an unconscious guy towards Bernard.
They threw him on the ground at Bernard's feet. Justin lifted a chair, and then they grabbed the guy and placed him to sit.
"Thank you guys, that will be all," Bernard dismissed them. Then he pressed a button on a device he now carried in his hand and restrictive bars sprung from the chair and held the guy's body in place. I could detect the steam coming from his shoulders as it rubbed against his skin.
Silver bars, that meant this guy was a werewolf.
"Ahhhh," the guy screamed as the burning sensation pulled him to consciousness. His head swung from side to side. His eyes glowed black. "Please, please - let me go, I've done nothing wrong."
"Nothing wrong? You broke a guy's spine just two nights ago, Freddy," Bernard spat.
"Yes, I did. But he was going to rape that girl."
"It doesn't matter. You shouldn't have been able to do it in the first place," Bernard scoffed. "Which pack do you belong to?"
"I have no pack."
"So you're a rogue?" Bernard asked.
"Yes, but not by choice. A few months ago dark witches attacked my pack, killed almost every member. I only survived because my mate is human and I was away courting her because she didn't know we existed."
Bernard turned to the crowd. "You see what I'm talking about, people. He said his mate is human. Werewolf women aren't enough for them, they have to seduce and fuck our women as well. But I assure you, this cross-copulation will also stop." He pulled a silver dagger from his jacket.
"No please, don't do this. I have never hurt anyone who didn't deserve it," Freddy growled. "I have a pregnant wife waiting for me at home.
"About that," Bernard grabbed a bucket and emptied it. Something in a black plastic bag rolled across the floor and stopped at the werewolf's feet. Bernard flashed him a wicked smile and stooped down next to the item. He used the tip of the blade and slashed the plastic open.
"NOOOOOOOOO," Freddy howled. Tears wetting his face as he struggled to break free from the chair. "You killed my mate, you fucker."
Bernard grabbed the head and hoist it up in the air. The soulless eyes stared back at the crowd. The poor innocent woman. How could he be so wicked? "Let this be a warning to anyone who thinks they can conspire with the supernatural. They'll be no trials but instant death to them too." Bernard threw the head to one of the guards. "Get rid of it."
"Yes sir."
I didn't need my wolf to detect the fear that the crowd was feeling.
Bernard sat the bucket beneath the werewolf's chair. He grabbed him by his hair and tilted his head back. He stabbed him in the neck with a needle.
"Wolf's bane," Freddy screamed before he convulsed.
Bernard's laugh echoed around the room. His eyes glowed red as he lifted his knife and slashed Freddy's throat with the sliver blade. The constrictions were lifted from his body as the bars retreated. Bernard held Freddy's neck over the metal bucket as he bled in it.
I heard a few people throwing up in the dim-lit area.
I wanted to rip his throat out.
"Now a message from our High Lord."
The TV came to life and the upper frame of a person broke into view. He was wearing a red devil's mask and a maroon robe.
"Hello, my subjects. I cannot stay long. I know a few of you may have a couple of questions to ask, but I assure you all will get answers soon. Now for the highlight of the night. After studying these creatures for years, I finally found a way to make us stronger so that we can eradicate the earth of them," the High Lord spoke in a modified voice. He sounded like fucking Jigsaw.
A guard handed Bernard a duffle bag. He stuck his hand inside and snatched a syringe. He dipped it inside the bucket and filled it with Freddy's blood. He held up the syringe. "This is our new beginning hunters." He plunged the needle into his neck, sending the juice into his veins. The crowd went wild. Bernard's muscles grew in front of our eyes. "Now I am as strong as the werewolf whose blood is in my veins. But it doesn't last, it will wear out eventually."
"You expect us to follow this craziness," a guy shouted
"Yeah. You cannot ask us to do this madness," another one yelled.
"Who said anything about asking," the High Lord chuckled.
As soon as he spoke, the same bars that were holding Freddy sprung from the chairs trapping the guests in their armchairs.
Screams filled the air as the people cry out in distress. They were planning on injecting these people with Freddy's blood forcefully.
I took one last look on Freddy, he was still alive. His wolf probably putting his all in trying to heal his wounds. But the wolf's bane will spread soon, and then his wolf won't be able to do much.
I slipped inside the bathroom as I saw the TV shut off.
"Ingrid?" I called.
"I'm here."
"We've got to leave now," I said, and I almost got a heart attack when I saw her face. Her eyes were bleeding.
"It's the air in the building, it is somehow affecting me; poisoning me."
"Ok, how do we get out of here?"
"I'll have to portal us out. It will raise an alarm though."
Portal us out? Maybe I could save Freddy. I briefly explained a bit of what happened outside to Ingrid.
"Are you insane? Even if I could, I'm not strong enough right now to portal all three of us."
"Then you and Freddy go."
"No Gerry. That's suicide. If I leave you here, they'll kill you."
"Ingrid, just do it. I'll be fine. Besides, I still need to find out who the High Lord is."
Ingrid protested for two more minutes before she agreed. "If you die, I'll kill you, Gerry, you hear me?"
I laughed. "Yes, ma'am."
We hugged, and then I slipped back out the way I came. I hid in the hallway and a few seconds later I saw a bright light coming from under the bathroom door.
A siren went off, and the room flashed red, raising an alarm. "A witch is in the building," a guard yelled.
"A very powerful one too," Bernard shouted back.
"I think she's in the bathroom," I announced. Keeping out of sight.
The guards ran towards the restroom and I saw Bernard jumped from the stadium as he hurried towards the bathroom.
The white light appeared on the podium and Ingrid stepped from the portal and snatched Freddy. "She's on the stage."
Bernard's head snapped behind him, but he was too late. His hands covered his eyes as Ingrid disappeared through the portal along with Freddy.
"FUCKKKK!" Bernard yelled in frustration. I took that moment and slipped away through the double doors that we entered through. I was going to see what was so off-limits behind that white door.
