                    HIGHLORD'S POV
"What do you mean they escaped? Find them!" I shouted to the guards. They both cringed at my outburst, I wanted them to know that I was angry; pissed even.
Tonight didn't go according to plan. I thought the demon wolf would have accompanied Gerard. We programmed those trapped chairs especially for him. It was his blood we needed to nourish the strength of my minions, but instead, he sent that human, Gerard Smith to come alone - well, and that witch.
Which reminded me, I had to find out who she was since I didn't remember seeing her before.
"We sent patrols in the forest, we are waiting for word from them as we speak, sir," one of the guards said.
"This pack is smarter than any I've ever dealt with before - they'll expect us to assume they left in the woods. What about patrols on the road - did you send out any?"
They lowered their heads. "No, sir - we didn't expect we would need to -"
"What are you still doing here then? GO!" I yelled. I felt my eyes expand as they threatened to burst from their sockets. "Worthless pieces of filth."
"Easy your excellency, we'll get them next time." I spun around to see Bernard walking into the room.
"You underestimate them, Bernard. This pack is the strongest I've ever encountered. I tried to defeat them when I went against my beliefs and joined forces with dark witches and rogues, but they still conquered us. This plan I've developed is our last resort. If this doesn't work then the supernaturals will take over the world. They'll make us their slaves and I serve no other entity than Jesus Christ our saviour."
"I understand your excellency but leave it to me, we won't fail this time, I feel it in my bones." He bowed, then be turned to leave.
"One more thing," I stopped him. "Find out who that witch was and how she got into the building. She is no hunter because I handpicked each one of the recruits from the university's database, I would have remembered her face."
"Yes, sir. She must be powerful to use portals, I thought only pure-blooded white witches could do that. Isn't Isis supposed to be the last pure-blooded white-witch?" His question piqued my interest.
"Yes, she is," I replied. A fight between two guards caught my eyes as I watched the monitor. "Please go and see to those imbeciles and use what little blood you've collected from the rogue on my subjects."
"I'll inject as much of them as possible. Although I fear it will only be enough for half of the guests."
"Ok, but soon they'll all be upgraded, and they'll thank me when they feel the power coursing through their veins."
This was the way to make the world great again, where humans roam free and supernatural creatures were only tales that we tell to our children.
He bowed his head, then exited the small security room that was situated directly behind the podium and I produced my way to my office, which was off-limits. I couldn't let anyone find out my true identity. Nobody knew who I am, no one had ever seen my face or heard my true voice. I made a bold move, coming here, out in the open tonight.
As soon as I settled in my office, I took my mask off and sat it on my table. I walked over to the window and opened it. I needed some cool air into the room.
I strutted over to my small liquor cabinet and poured myself a glass of whiskey.
Tonight was a wild night.
I lifted the glass to my head and chugged it down.
I poured myself another.
The creaking of the door caught my attention. My eyes spotted a syringe on top of the cabinet. I slowly picked it up while I sipped leisurely on my drink.
I was high on werewolf blood, so I picked up on the faint steps moving closer to me. It was too late to grab my mask, so I'd have to use this means of memory wiping on one of my men tonight.
It wasn't something I wanted to do, but I had to have precautionary measures in place in case someone found out who I was or saw my face.
Agatha, she brewed this concoction.
A hand gripped my shoulder, I didn't wait for their next move. I twirled around and stuck the needle in their neck.
"Youuuu!" He grunted out.
"Gerard!" I gasped in shock. I thought Bernard said they all left. What was he still doing here?
He fell to the floor. "You - you are the High Lord, I can't believe it." He crawled towards the window.
"Yes, surprise? Too bad you won't be able to remember all of this in a few minutes."
"W-why?" He struggled to say.
"Because supernaturals are creations of the Devil," I took a sip of my beverage. "I'm just sorry I had to do this to you, Gerard. I was told that this potion not only wipes your mind by a few hours, but it can wipe your entire memories of loved ones, friends - you might not even remember that pretty little she-wolf of yours," I laughed.
"Bastard!"
He struggled to get on his feet. It mystified me, he should have been out already.
I heard him growl, my heart skipped a beat. I examined him and noticed his eyes were as dark as coal. His canines were out, sharpened to a point.
"Jesus Christ!" I gulped. He was a werewolf. I could tell he was fighting the potion.
He gripped the window. "Surprise? Wait till I tell Alpha Zander about this?" His voice was menacing; the true nature of evil. His knees buckled. Now that I know he was a werewolf, I couldn't let him leave. I'd never encountered a bitten before. The experiments that I could conduct on him. The information we could squeeze from him.
My excitement grew when I realised his eyes were getting droopy. He would fall any second now, I thought. His canines were retreating.
I made a small step, Gerard's head snapped towards me, then he looked out the window.
He wouldn't.
As if he was reading my mind, the werewolf leapt and dived out the open window.
I scurried over and peered down below. He landed on his side in the parking lot. It was empty. No one was in sight. I ordered the guards over the intercom to go to the parking area immediately.
I was still peering down below when suddenly I saw a white light, it came out of nowhere.
My eyes detected the witch from earlier, and she was with that she-wolf, Cleopatra. They grabbed Gerard and vanished into the light.
Now tonight had gotten a lot more interesting.
Gerard now primely interested me other than the Demon Wolf, of course.
CLEOPATRA'S POV
"We shouldn't have left him," I paced around the grand hall. We arrived at the mansion an hour ago, it was 1:30 am.
I couldn't believe I let them talk me into leaving Gerry behind.
"He will be fine, Cleo. I think Gerry can handle himself," Topher said.
"Well, would you be saying the same thing if we'd left Chastity behind?"
"Chastity is not a werewolf, so this reverse scenario doesn't apply," Topher retorted.
I rolled my eyes. Something was telling me, he needed my help.
'Cleo, we need you,' Percy's faint voice came into my head.
'Percy, where are you?'
'Come. Quick. Parking Lot. High Lord...'
'Percy? Percy?' The link went dead.
"We gotta go, Gerry is in trouble. Percy just told me he's in the parking lot. He sounded so weak."
"But how do we get to him in time?" Allen asked.
"I'll portal us in. I still have a little juice left," Ingrid stated
"Ok, be careful you two. Just grab him - I want you girls back here in less than 2 minutes," Allen added.
Ingrid opened up the portal, she struggled a little but we managed to grab Gerry in less than one minute.
"Gerry, can you hear me? Please wake up!" I sobbed as we rested him on the floor. There was a needle mark in his neck.
"Allen and Topher, take him to the pack hospital - I'll need to inform the Alpha," Duncan explained.
I accompanied my mate to the hospital.
What did they do to him?
