ZANDER'S POV
"You're telling me she still hasn't -" I hesitated when I noticed Hazel's eyes following every syllable that slipped from my lips.
"No, my sister is - well, a very peculiar vampire," Dimitri chuckled.
"So how do we get this sister of yours here?" Hazel made a valid point.
"Yeah, Isis' portals don't allow vampires to pass through them," I sighed.
"Alpha Zander, maybe I can help. We have a portal door inside the Serpents Corp building. If Dimitri knows where his sister is them two of my guards can go get her," Salim illustrated.
This had me thinking if only I knew where Zoey was, how easily I could get my sister back.
"OK then, let's go get the virgin," Carson added.
"I can't allow all of you inside. Maybe just four of you," Salim disclosed.
"OK. Dimitri, Isis and Carson will accompany me then," I declared.
"Wait! I thought you didn't want to let me outta your sight!" Hazel pouted.
"And Alpha, what if this is a trap - no offence Salim-"
"None taken Carson," Salim chuckled.
"Alpha, if this is an ambush you'll need your best warrior by your side," Carson pleaded his case.
"Shit! OK. Carson, Hazel and Dimitri will come with me."
"I'll keep watch until you guys are back," Declan bowed, and I nodded.
The four of us followed Salim into the gigantic skyscraper.
"This is huge - but eerie," said Carson.
"First things first. Dimitri, you'll need to call your sister." Salim handed him a bowl. "This is how we communicate here - we don't have the packlink like werewolves and dragons, so we use communication bowls. This one is altered to transmit out of this realm, so Dimitri, how do you normally contact your sister?"
"Well, we use cellphones," he answered.
"Just stare into the basin and think of your sister - think about the last time you spoke over the cellphone, when you connect to her, she'll think you are calling her from your mobile," Salim told him.
Dimitri held on to the bowl, it was made from coconut shell; smooth and very natural looking. We heard a long beep, then a familiar voice answered. "Hello, dear brother - to what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Danika - is it really you?" Dimitri asked.
"Of course it is I - what do you want brother?"
"Well, you see, sweet sister - Zander and I have run into a little -"
"Zander?" Danika interrupted. "Alpha Zander Knight?"
"Yes, sister. That same brute."
I grunted.
"Now I understand. He told you to call me, didn't he? What does he require?"
"Well sister, it's complicated." Dimitri scratched his head, trying to find the right words.
"For fucks sake!" Carson took the container from Dimitri's hands.
"Carson, you stupid mutt," Dimitri cursed.
"Carson, what the fuck?" I boomed, but Hazel held on to my hand, calming me instantly.
"Hey, Danika, what's popping?" Carson chuckled.
"Carson, is that you love?" Danika giggled.
"Yes, it is sweet cheeks. So, how's the family, how's your undead life treating you?"
"The family's splendid and my undead life is going peachy."
"Good - that's wonderful."
"How about you - are you still shagging every female you come in contact with?"
Carson laughed. "Oh no, no. I am a mated wolf now, and I have a pup."
"No way! Carson, that's great. Maybe I should stop by one of these days to say hello."
"You should. Listen the reason we called is that - umm - you see - fuck this is harder than I thought."
"Just spit it out, Carson."
"OK, so Alpha needs your virginity!" Carson blurted.
"I beg your pardon?" Danika gasped.
"Gimme that, you idiot," I grabbed the bowl from Carson's grip. "Hi, Danika."
"Alpha Zander - so you want my virginity now? I offered you it six years ago and you refused."
Hazel's mouth hung wide.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"I'm at Winterborne Castle."
"Sis, stay put we're sending someone to get you."
Salim used Dimitri's hand to open a simple black door, and then he sent two snake-shifters to snatch Danika. A few seconds later, they popped out from behind the door.
"What the hell! Please unhand me, you slimy things!" She shouted as she yanked her shoulder from the serpents. The dark-haired beauty found her brother first. "Dimitri, please explain to me what's going on?" Her chocolate eyes were similar to her brother's and her body was athletic with curvy hips and ample bosoms. Her black hair was captured in a bun, as always.
"Maybe I could explain." Her eyes finally landed on me and her face lit up with a smile.
"Alpha Zander," she hugged me then she gave my cheeks air kisses. I felt Hazel's tension, but she said nothing.
I quickly gave her a small summary of why we needed her help.
"So this is your mate," she took Hazel's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Luna."
"Same," Hazel said.
"And sis, I found out that she is our cousin," Dimitri announced and Danika's neck snapped towards him. "I'll explain later."
We sauntered out of the building as we strolled to rejoin the others. Danika was catching up with Carson.
"Carson, I cannot come to terms that you are a father," Danika intertwined her hand in his arm.
"Jinx and I can hardly believe it ourselves. But it's amazing to know that my penis is the cause of such a perfect creature."
"I'm sure your penis doesn't deserve all the credit. What about your mate - tell me about her."
"Gabrielle, she is my heartbeat; my sweet, sweet cupcake. She keeps me grounded and when I'm with her nothing or no one else matters but us and our pup."
"Aww! Sounds like true love to me. I can't wait to experience it for myself," Danika smiled, but I could detect a hint of sadness.
"Why have you kept your virginity all these years?" I inquired.
"Simple. I just never met the right person," Danika scoffed.
"My sister hates being a vampire, and she loathes her powers of seduction - unlike me, you use it almost every day. My sister has never done so unless it's necessary," Dimitri explained.
"Dimitri, I could kill you for airing my business like this, but I'll let it slide since my dear Zoey is alive. I miss her so much."
"We all do," Carson stated. "Lun-Lun, why are you so quiet?"
"No reason, Carson. I'm just enjoying the conversation," Hazel laughed it off. But I could tell that she was uneasy. But it had nothing to do with Danika.
"kitten, what's wrong?"
"I think this Harper person is in trouble. I heard her crying in my head just now," she answered through our link.
"So she's reaching out to you while you're awake now. This is strange. We'll deal with it when we get to the Fae world." I told her and she agreed.
As soon as we stepped around the corner where the door was, a gigantic howl stopped us in our tracks.
"MATE! MATE!" His eyes glowed black and his canines extended to points. He galloped over to us at full speed, kicking up a mist of dust clouds.
His chest went smashing into Danika, but being a vampire, he barely shook her. "Down mutt, down," she snickered. He grabbed Carson's hand and threw him to the floor.
"Easy bro - we're just friends." Carson stood to his feet laughing.
"MATE! MATE!" The wolf licked Danika's face.
"Eew! Shoo, shoo," she tried to shove him off.
He whispered. "Mate?" Then he fell to his knees. He whimpered in sadness as he hung his head low. I knew he felt rejected.
"Sister, he is your mate give the poor fellow a break- I guess you're mated to a werewolf too," Dimitri cackled. "I can tell you like him, I smell your arousal."
"We all do," Carson laughed.
Danika blushed.
We all stood there glaring in shock as Danika crouched down on her knees. She dismissed her silver silky glove and utilized a finger to lift his chin so that their eyes could meet. We all heard as Danika's breath caught in her throat.
"I am Danika Winterbourne and what is your name, handsome?" She waited for his answer.
"Ushi - Alpha Ushi Wu."
