                    DECLAN'S POV
'What should we do? What should we do?' I questioned my wolf. 'Should we mind-link Alpha?' I bit on my nails nervously.
'Are you an idiot? Of course, we shouldn't mind-link our Alpha. We are third in command, we should be able to fix this ourselves.' Maddox hissed.
'Ok, so how do we fix this?' I exhaled as I settled my eyes on my friends. Maddox was right, what kind of Gamma would I be if I called my Alpha to solve every problem I had.
'How the fuck should I know? Plus this is your fault anyway.'
'My fault? How comes?'
'If you had just let us fuck something - anything, this wouldn't have happened in the first place. Now Dim is in trouble all because he's trying to get us laid!'
It's true. I was so stupid believing that the Moon Goddess would grant me a second chance mate that I had been causing suffering to my wolf. 'You're right Maddox. I'm sorry bud.'
'Tell that to my fucking balls!' He scoffed. 'You see these?' He shoved his crotch to the forefront of my head. He had a severe case of blue balls. 'If they get any bigger, they will explode!' He was right again and none of us wanted that.
"This wasn't supposed to happen," I heard the fat clown say. The other four clowns scampered off leaving him behind to sob. "This was supposed to be fun."
"Fun? You think this is fun for them?" I pointed at my friends.
"Yeah, look at me. I'm hideous!" Dimitri's tiny voice squeaked as he flew and perched on my shoulder.
"At least you can fucking fly!" Carson slithered on his belly as fast as he could trying to get closer to my shoe.
"You turned my friends into a bat and a slug - you better change them back now!" I warned the clown. He trembled, he didn't look so fierce now, instead, he seemed afraid of me.
"Well, Wolfman - I would love to do so, but I can't," the clown said.
"Listen here Bozo, if you don't turn my friends back right this second, I'll - I'll -" shit, I struggled to find the right words to threaten him with. 'I don't know how Alpha does this and with so much ease.'
'It's because Alpha is a natural badass,' Maddox praised.
"Please, I beg you, Mr. Wolfman, don't eat me!" The clown fell to his feet and began to grovel.
What? He seemed genuinely terrified.
'Just play along,' Maddox nodded.
"Yeah, that's right - I will snack on your face if you don't fix my friends." I picked up Carson and rest him on my other shoulder as I spoke.
"Hey don't squish my face man," Carson complained.
"Sorry," I whispered. The clown looked up from the ground as he tried to figure us out.
"You are losing him - growl," Dimitri whispered in my ear.
"What?" I asked.
"You know, the thing that wolves do - Awoooohhhh!" Dimitri tried to explain in hush tones.
"He means howl, he wants you to howl," Carson simplified.
"Oh, I see. Should I howl now or wait a couple more seconds for maximum effect?"
'For the love of the Moon Goddess - move!!!' Maddox boomed in my head as he took control.
'You didn't have to mentally shove me so hard!' I complained and he ignored me.
He extended our claws and lowered one finger down to the clown's face and he hooked a claw in his chin.
Maddox yanked his head close to ours. "Listen here clown because this is your last warning - you're gonna brew up a batch of whatever you need to fix my friends and you're gonna do it no later than now!" Maddox growled. His tone even sent chills down my spine. The clown began to tremble with newfound terror as he watched the black swirl in our eyes.
"But - I -" he tried to talk.
"You know what's worse than being undead?"
The clown thought about it for a second. "Being - alive?" He said unsure.
'What are they teaching these creatures here?' I wondered.
"No, you fool - it's not existing. If a wolf eats an undead, then that's the end for them. You just seize to exist - no more tricks on people - no more food cart fiasco - you'll just die permanently!"
"Please Mr. Wolfman - I have a wife and kids."
"Then I'll eat them first and let you watch! So are you gonna fix my friends?"
"He can't," the beautiful honeyed voice answered. It was cool and mellow.
Maddox looked around trying to figure out who the voice belonged to.
"I don't see anything," Dimitri announced.
"Me either," Carson added.
"Psst," the voice let out.
"Where are you?"
"Over here, behind the building to your right." The voice answered. "Billy, don't just stand there, bring them to me."
"Ok sir," the clown responded.
"Billy! Your name is Billy the clown?" Carson chuckled.
"Yes," Billy said as he gestured for us to follow him. He led us over to a narrow path towards the side of the tall building. We were out of sight from the inhabitants. Even though none of them seemed to care about our existence.
"Be careful," Dim warned and I nodded my head.
The daylight was fading and the night was upon us now.
I got back control from Maddox.
"I don't see a soul," I stated.
"That's because I don't have one," the voice joked, then in the far end of the corner, a figure appeared. It was covered in a dark trench coat. It also sported a black top hat.
It strode closer to us, tapping its cane on the ground. The sound its bare feet made was like bone hitting asphalt. A shaft of moonlight hits the figure reflecting only a yellowed white colour off the surface of its face.
It was a skeleton, just as tall as the ones seen in any Biology room but this one moved as smoothly as a well-conditioned athlete. Its head swivelled as it surveyed the scene with its coal-black sockets.
