                    ???'s POV
"Ah! Please don't eat us," One of them begged, while the one dressed in pink used its tiny spear to jab Zander in the eye.
"Fucker!" Zander grabbed the tiny man, who stabbed him in the eye. "You're gonna pay for that."
"Well, anything you do can't be worse than your breath," he laughed out along with his other two companions. "What do wolves eat, shit?" he mocked Zander.
"Why, you little weasel!" Gidian roared.
"Gidian, stop!" Hazel held on to his palm before he could chomp off its head. "He's just a dwarf," Hazel observed, feeling pity for the tiny fellow. She thought he was cute, too.
"Well, I'm a she, you foolish human," she corrected Hazel. "And I don't need your saving. I can save myself. Now let me go you, big dummy," she bit and kicked Zander's knuckles, and from the sensation he let her go, and the dwarf went falling to the ground.
"Ouch!" Zander flashed his fingers, and the bite felt like an electrical bee sting.
"And of all the battles I fought with Zander, he finally found his better, a tiny little dwarf," Carson flipped over on his rear, snorting until tears rolled down his face.
"Keep laughing, and I'll order Isis to let you stay this slimy snail for the rest of your life," Zander warned him.
"Roger that, my big, strong, Alpha." Carson was back to being serious again.
Julia stooped down to the tiny creatures. "What are your names?"
The white-haired one with the sweet pepper for a nose answered first. "I'm Omie."
"Nice to meet you, Omie. I'm Julia," Julia shook his tiny hand and continued to introduce the others.
"Can I play with them, mummy?" Tia asked.
"We are not toys, little girl," the one that bit Zander replied. "And I am Zipper and I don't like the big dumb werewolf right there," she pointed at Zander while she stuck her tongue out. She had a a puny brown beard and a sweet pepper-shaped nose, too.
The teeniest one was standing there, looking at them like he was bored. "And you?" Julia questioned. She noticed how handsome the tiniest one was. He was ten times smaller than the other two.
"I am Kramer and no, I'm not a dwarf. I'm an elf." He had a gaze that spoke intelligence. Even when he was just standing there, not saying a word, his heart expressed every emotion that swam beneath those calm features. In his movements, there was a softness, an inner peace that reminded Julia of a forest deer.
"An elf, wow," Julia beamed.
"But if you people aren't here to hurt us, then we must be on our way," Kramer said as he turned to walk forward.
"You mentioned something about killing a dragon," Zander halted him with his words.
"The dragons have been terrorizing our communities for a decade, and we are just tired of it. So, we decided to kill them all," Kramer spoke with hatred in his voice.
Zander rubbed his chin as an idea formed in his head. "How about you show us where the dragons live, and we kill them for you, "Zander tried to bargain.
"And what's in for you?" Kramer countered. "Why do you want to go to their cave?"
"We are on a mission, and we need safe passage from the dragon King to leave this realm."
"Good luck with that. The Dragon King hasn't been seen by anybody in centuries, even his people haven't seen him in over ten years now. When he was around, we were protected from the trolls and other creatures that plagued our villages. We had an understanding with the King. We pay him with livestock, and he would ensure our protection, but ever since his absence, some unruly dragons have been burning our livestock, homes, and crops, but they hurt no one – until today. And I won't rest until I get my vengeance."
"Tora was a good elf. She was a healer," Zipper spoke with sadness in her voice.
"She was also my wife and mother of my children," Kramer muttered.
"Well, if this is true, then I must help in whatever way I can. I will go to the dragon's cave and demand to speak to the King," Zander promised.
Zipper looked over at the child. "She can't go with you."
"My daughter stays with us," Cedella barked.
"What an odd-looking bunch," Omie snickered. "Ghost lady, you and the child can stay with us. Your daughter cannot go into the dragon's cave."
"Wait, we are not going with them?" Kramer asked.
"No, Kramer. Let them put themselves in danger. If they die, then we go and do shit ourselves," Zipper explained.
Kramer nodded his head.
"OK, Alpha Zander. I am going to give you the layout of the land," Kramer took a stick and wrote in the dirt. "Right now, we are here at Mount Summit. Some call it The Enchanted fortress. If you follow the sun and travel east of the waterfall, then you should get to Dragonflame Summit before nightfall." Kramer drew the map in the dirt as Zander and the others listen keenly. "If you see the King, tell him I will make a deal of having things go back to how they were. We trade our goods and services for his protection. If not, then we will go to war. We have some ogres who would join us, too."
"OK, Kramer. I will try to reason with him." Zander gave him his word.
"Is there any unmated wolf here?" Kramer asked.
"I am unmated. Why?" James was curious.
"Stay away from the waters. There are sirens there that love unmated werewolves and considering you are the first one here in centuries, then I figure they already smell you and know you are here."
"Noted!" James took note.
"Please take care of Tia and Cedella," Isis said to Kramer.
"Don't worry. You have my word," Kramer nodded.
Isis knew that elves and dwarves were good creatures. They liked a little harmless prank now and again, but they were good beings, nonetheless.
The sunlight peeked out as daylight broke, and the brave ones made their way to the Dragon's lair.
"You know they are going to die!" Kramer said to Zipper.
"Yeah, but hopefully, they take some dragons with them."
"You have no idea who my newfound friends are," Cedealla giggled. "Please, where can I get my daughter something to eat."
"Follow us," Omie gestured to her. "Tell me, how did you die?"
"It's a long story," Cedella sighed.
"We're all ears," Omie laughed as he touched his big ear. "Get it because I have large ears."
"Yes, she gets it," Kramer let out roughly. "Now go ahead, Cedella, I'm all ears too," he touched the pointy end of his and Omie toppled over on the ground, kicking the air as he laughed. His rounded belly jiggled with every giggle.
"You see what I have to put up with daily?" Zipper complained. "Come, let's get the child some roasted lizard to eat."
