???'s POV
The majestic creature was forced into a dank, dark cave. They had left it curled up in the room's corner, breathing heavy steam from its mouth. Its black, reptilian eyes darted back and forth, surveying the space and looking for threats, but when it saw none, it huffed a sigh of relief. Dust swirled around the cave as the creature reposed, trying to get comfortable.
The constant and monotonous dripping of the wet patch on the roof sent a familiar sensation to its eardrums, reminding it so much of home. Dirt and mud discoloured the water. The creature noticed the small rocks falling from the roof of the cave caused by the distant rumbling. Through hazy visions, it saw two giants fighting over what seemed to be scraps of food on the floor. The creature huffed again. The fighting was causing a more massive headache than the one it already had. If the creature was at full strength, it could part the giants with ease. It scrutinized them well and noticed the giants were chained to the wall, meters out of his reach.
A cloud of sadness floated above the creature's head. Its body had been fighting King Lucifer's spell for days now. With its eyes closed, all it could think of was its Eternal mate, Seraphina.
Even though when he saw her earlier, he recognized her, but the spell he was under was significantly stronger than the love he had in his heart for his eternal.
The dragon's massive size intimidated the other supernatural creatures. They were too afraid to confront it and instead; they hid in the opposite corner of the room, curled up together like an enormous pile of cocktail shrimp. They had hardly eaten anything in the last couple of days. King Lucifer had been worrying, thus forgetting to feed his captives. They had to salvage food from the floors of the cave that Lucifer's goons had dropped, and every so often they were even forced to drink the dirty water. They watched and waited in fear for the dragon to fall asleep.
Well, all were afraid of this creature, except for one person.
Zoey slowly crept up to the dragon. Just like the others, she knew what it was, and just like the others, this was her first time seeing one.
"Zoey, what are you doing?" Titus, the original leader of Serpentine, huffed. After he was captured and thrown in Lucifer's dungeon, he took a liking to Zoey. She reminded him of the gatekeeper Salim. Zoey's wild spirit and sharp tongue, with her leadership capabilities, Titus immediately fell protective of her, especially since deep down he saw she had a girly side, one that painted her nails pink and wore pink lipstick and pink blush. Now, this side of her reminded him of his beautiful daughter, Thelma. Now Thelma was as pure as they come. Titus got sad as he remembered how his best friend, Mullins, betrayed him and had him captured by King Lucifer. And ever since, he had been praying to the Great Moon Goddess to keep his daughter and the inhabitants of Serpentine safe.
"It's OK Titus, I just want to touch it," Zoey whispered. Her emerald green eyes, which were identical to her big brother's, roamed the dragon with excitement. That's when she noticed the dark tint on its cheeks and the dragon's wings pressed up against its tummy. Dark liquid leaked from its ribs and the scent was horrible, like burnt flesh. The creature clinched itself and waited for the fighting to stop. "Oh dear Moon Goddess, it's hurt." She snapped.
"Then hopefully it will die before it gets a chance to eat us," Freya, the pretty, blue-haired, blue-eyed witch, stepped from the darkness. "Zoey, just leave the damn thing."
Zoey growled. "Are you sure you are a white witch, bitch?" Zoey questioned and Freya grunted, folding her fists, wishing she could punch Zoey over the mouth.
The two had not been able to get along ever since Freya showed up. Freya was the most unruly one of the Cerulean sisters. If she had listened to her older sisters, Imogen and Beatrix, she wouldn't have been captured by King Lucifer.
"Enough, little sister," Prudence, the other blue-haired witch, held her younger sister by the elbows. "You know better." She finished. Zoey nodded. Prudence, she liked. The oldest Cerulean sister was the strongest of the four, and she had been like a mother to the younger ones since their mother died, giving birth to Freya. Prudence was following up on a lead when Agatha, the dark witch ambushed and captured her.
The two giants stopped fighting when the bigger one finally got the bone and stuffed his face with it.
"No fair, Dodo," the smaller one whined.
"Dodo likes to bone. Dodo won, Hobo," Dodo dropped to his ass and laughed heartily as he chomped down the bone.
"Hobo so hungry," Hobo sniffled.
"Finally," Zoey sighed as the place got peaceful now that the giant siblings were sitting, doing nothing. She kneeled before the dragon. Her fingers hesitated before it touched its wings. "So rough," she admired, moving the wing from the wound. The dragon's blood was like acid when it burnt her hand. It smelt like molten lava, and it looked like lava too. "He's bleeding out. But aren't dragons supposed to heal like werewolves?" She asked the group of people who were now coming out of the dark and into the light when they were sure the dragon was too hurt to attack them.
"I have something that might help," Ozone, leader of the merpeople stepped forward. "But it's going to cost you something," Ozone hummed.
"Yeah, name it," Zoey snapped her fingers.
Ozone sniffed Zoey and hummed. He liked what he smelt. "You will know in due time," Ozone walked up to her and held her palm out. "My saliva has healing properties, just like yours, but mine is a million times more powerful," he explained. He coughed up as much spit as he could, and Zoey collected it in her palm.
