                    Carson POV:
“I know where they’ve taken the pup.”
The clearing went silent. I could feel the tension in the air, the scent of wolf musk and anticipation.
Hundreds of eyes, amber and gold, turned towards me, their gazes sharp, suspicious.
The whispers that had been rippling through the pack died down. It was a mix of Mondragon and Magnus warriors, all tense, all eager for a fight.
I met Isabelle’s gaze.
Her face was a mask, but I could sense the surprise, the guarded curiosity, underneath.
She stood tall and proud, her Alpha aura radiating power, demanding respect.
“She doesn’t trust you, Carson. And why would she?” My wolf growled. “You tried to betray her by siding with her enemies.”
But even as my wolf snarled his disapproval, I knew I had to do this.
There was a bigger purpose here, a chance to make things right, to save Rowan and Catrina’s pup, to help heal the broken bonds that threatened our world.
“Tell me, Carson,” Isabelle said, her voice cool and steady.
“How is it that you have this… information?”
I stepped closer, my gaze unwavering. My wolf stood tall beside me.
“I’ve been to the Bloodmoon territory, Alpha,” I said, my voice calm.
“I’ve spoken to their Alpha. I’ve seen their… desperation, their need for revenge against those who wronged them.”
“You betrayed me, Carson.”
Isabelle’s voice was soft, but the accusation was sharp. It cut me to the core.
My heart still ached for her, for the she-wolf who had been my Alpha, my friend, for so long.
“I did what I thought I had to do, Alpha,” I said, my voice rough with emotion.
The guilt of my betrayal weighed heavily on me.
“King Alaric’s demands, your… unhappiness, Rowan’s… blindness… I thought I could find a solution, a way to protect you, to protect the pack.”
“By working with rogues? By giving our secrets to those who want to destroy us?”
Her eyes blazed with anger.
It made my wolf cower, wanting to submit, to beg for forgiveness.
“They’re not all bad, Isabelle,” I said, using her name, even though I knew I didn’t have the right anymore.
“The Bloodmoons… they’re wolves, just like us. They’ve been hurt, betrayed, cast out. They’re angry, yes, but they also want a place to belong, a home.”
“Just like you, Carson.”
My wolf growled, reminding me of my own longing for a mate, a family, a place where I truly belonged.
“That’s naive, Carson,” Isabelle said, her voice softer now, but still laced with distrust.
The Bloodmoons are dangerous. Unpredictable. You can’t trust them.”
“I know, Alpha,” I said, my voice firm.
“But we share a common enemy now. King Alaric. He’s a threat to all of us. He’s using our pain, our fear, to divide us, to make us weak.”
“You think the Bloodmoons will help us fight Alaric?” she asked, her gaze skeptical.
“They hate him even more than we do,” I said, my voice confident.
“He’s the reason they’re outcasts. He’s the one who stole their lands, broke their families apart. They’ll fight him to the death.”
“And what about Damien?” Isabelle asked, her voice barely a whisper.
The name sent a shiver down my spine. He was the unseen danger, the puppet master pulling the strings from the shadows.
“He’s behind all of this, Carson. He orchestrated Lucas’s kidnapping. He’s turning us against each other.”
“I know, Alpha,” I said grimly.
“Damien… he’s a master of chaos. He feeds on fear and discord. He’s using humans, using the Bloodmoons, using us, to achieve his own goals. He wants to destroy everything we’ve built, to tear our world apart.”
“But he’s made a mistake, Alpha,” I continued, a spark of hope flickering inside me.
“He underestimated you. He’s underestimated Rowan. And he’s underestimated… Catrina.”
Isabelle’s eyes narrowed.
“Catrina?” she echoed, surprise and curiosity in her voice.
I knew she’d started to respect Catrina, to see her as more than just Rowan’s omega.
“She’s the key, Alpha,” I said, my voice firm.
“She’s the one Damien fears. She’s the one he wants. She’s the one who can defeat him.”
“What are you talking about, Carson?” Isabelle stepped closer, her scent a familiar mix of lavender and vanilla.
It calmed me, but it also reminded me of the bond we’d lost, the loyalty I’d betrayed.
“Catrina… she’s different, Alpha,” I explained, choosing my words carefully.
“She’s not just Rowan’s mate. She’s not just an omega. She’s… something more. Something ancient. Something powerful.”
“What do you mean, ‘something more’?” Isabelle pressed. “Explain yourself, Carson.”
“She comes from a line of powerful seers, Alpha,” I said, revealing the secret Catrina had tried to hide.
It was a secret that had shaken me, that had changed the way I saw her, the way I saw everything.
“She has… abilities. Gifts. A connection to the spirit world. A power that even Damien fears.”
I saw understanding dawn in Isabelle’s eyes.
She was starting to see the truth, the potential that Catrina held.
“She knows where Lucas is, Alpha,” I said, my voice low and intense.
“She’s the only one who can lead us to him. The only one who can… defeat Damien.”
“And how do we find this… seer?” Isabelle asked, her voice cautious, but I could hear a flicker of hope.
“The Bloodmoons know, Alpha,” I said.
“They’ve been watching her. They’ve seen her power. They… respect her. And they’ll help us. But only if we work together.”
I could see the struggle inside her, the battle between her pride and her desperation.
She didn’t trust rogues, but she wanted Lucas back. She wanted to protect her pack.
“She’s strong, Isabelle. But even the strongest wolf needs help sometimes.” My wolf growled, urging her to make the right choice.
The moonlight bathed the clearing, and the scent of hope mingled with the musk of hundreds of wolves.
They were all looking at her, waiting. The fate of our packs, of our families, rested on her decision.
