Catrina POV:
“Where do you think you’re going, little omega?”
The voice, a low growl, sent shivers down my spine.
My heart pounded, and I froze, my breath catching in my throat.
The scent of musk washed over me, a powerful, alluring, and terrifying smell that made my wolf whimper.
I turned slowly, a wave of fear chilling me to the bone.
He was tall and muscular, his dark hair falling over his forehead. His red eyes, like burning embers, were fixed on me with a hunger that made my skin crawl.
It was the Bloodmoon Alpha.
“He’s dangerous, Catrina. Run!” My wolf snarled, her claws extending, her body trembling.
She wanted to flee, to escape the predator’s gaze, the scent of his dominance, the raw power that radiated from him.
But my feet wouldn’t move. I was frozen, trapped in a nightmare.
The clearing was a chaotic whirlwind of fur and fangs, of snarls and growls, of the sickening scent of blood.
The battle raged around me – Magnus and Bloodmoon wolves clashing, their amber and red eyes blazing, their bodies a blur of motion.
Derek had pulled me away from the main fight, but the trees offered little protection.
I felt the darkness closing in, the feeling of being hunted, of being… prey.
“You’re mine now, omega,” the Bloodmoon Alpha growled, his voice a low rumble that vibrated in the air.
His words felt like a violation. He was claiming me, possessing me.
He stepped closer, and his scent – a mix of pine and a musky, animalistic odor – made me gag. It was overwhelming, making my head spin.
“You belong to the Bloodmoon pack now. And to me.”
“I… I don’t belong to anyone,” I stammered, my voice shaky.
I looked around frantically, desperate to escape this nightmare, this reality I couldn’t understand.
“I’m… I’m not…”
“You’re unmated, aren’t you?” he interrupted, his voice a low growl.
His amber eyes burned into mine, a predatory gleam that made my wolf cower. I hated the feeling of submission that washed over me, but I couldn’t fight it.
“And as an Alpha I can claim you. That’s the law. The way of our world.”
“But… I’m not…” I tried to protest, but the words caught in my throat.
The memory of Rowan, his scent, his touch, the warmth of his gaze… it was a painful reminder of the Alpha who didn’t want me, who’d chosen another path.
“You’re mine now, Catrina,” the Bloodmoon Alpha said, his voice a low purr, a dangerous charm that made my skin crawl.
He reached for me, his rough hand closing around my wrist, his grip tight and possessive. My wolf snarled, a desperate attempt to fight back.
“You’re a powerful,” he said, his voice a low rumble.
“I can sense it. Your scent… your blood… it’s intoxicating. You’ll bear strong pups, Catrina. Pups that will make our pack stronger.”
He pulled me closer, his body heat suffocating, his scent making me gag.
I tried to pull away, but he was too strong. I felt weak, helpless, my fear a bitter taste in my mouth.
“Let me go!”
I shouted, but my voice was lost in the roar of the battle, the clash of wolves fighting all around us.
“You’re mine now, omega,” he growled, his voice a low rumble in my ear.
His breath was hot against my skin, his words a violation that made my wolf howl in protest. He was trying to force a destiny on me that I didn’t want.
He leaned in, his lips, rough and chapped, coming closer. His scent, a mix of something rotten, made me gag. My body trembled with disgust.
No! He’s not our Alpha! He’s not…
But the thought of Rowan, of his amber eyes, his scent, his touch, was just a fleeting spark, a distant hope that had been extinguished.
He was gone. He didn’t want me.
And in that moment, as the Bloodmoon Alpha’s lips were about to touch mine, my wolf snarled, her claws extending, her fangs bared.
A primal rage, fueled by fear and desperation, exploded inside me. I had to fight. I had to escape.
I gathered all my strength and punched him, my fist connecting with his jaw. I heard a satisfying crack of bone, and the entire clearing seemed to go silent for a moment.
The fighting stopped, and all eyes turned towards us.
Even the wolves seemed surprised that an omega had dared to defy an Alpha.
The Bloodmoon Alpha staggered back, his hand flying to his jaw, his amber eyes wide with shock.
“You… you little bitch!” he roared, his voice full of fury.
He lunged for me, his claws extended, his fangs bared. He was a predator unleashed, and I couldn't escape.
“Rowan!”
A voice, a roar of fury and desperation, cut through the chaos.
It was a familiar scent, a mix of pine and leather and raw power, that made my heart leap.
Rowan.
He stood between us, shielding me, his presence a wall of protection.
“Get your hands off her!” he roared, his voice a thunderclap that shook the ground.
His Alpha command, a force of nature, made even the toughest rogue wolves hesitate.
The Bloodmoon Alpha snarled, his claws digging into the earth, his body tense, ready to fight for his claim on me.
“She’s mine, Magnus,” he growled.
“I claimed her. She belongs to the Bloodmoon pack. You have no right to interfere.”
“She’s my mate, Bloodmoon,” Rowan retorted, his voice cold and hard. He radiated Alpha power, making the air crackle with tension.
“And I’m taking her back.”
The two Alphas circled each other, their wolves snarling, their claws extended, their eyes blazing with fury. It was a challenge, a battle for dominance, for territory, for survival.
I knew, with a chilling certainty, that the real battle, the battle for my heart, for my soul, had just begun.
But just as Rowan lunge, a dark presence descended upon the clearing.
A chill wind swept through the trees, making the wolves whimper, their hackles rising.
It felt like a shadow had fallen over the moon, a power that made the air crackle with fear.
And from the heart of the darkness, a voice, cold and smooth, whispered through the night.
“It seems… we have… unfinished business, Rowan Magnus.”
