                    Catrina POV:
I lunged at Damien, a blur of silver and white, my fangs bared, my claws extended.
He barely had time to raise another shield of dark energy. I slammed into it, my shoulder connecting with a force that shook the entire clearing.
The ground trembled, the trees swayed, and even the Bloodmoon wolves, their eyes glowing red, backed away, whimpering.
“You think a shield can stop me, Damien?” I snarled, my voice a deep growl.
It was both my voice and Lyra’s, a powerful echo of our combined strength.
“You haven’t seen anything yet!”
“You… you’re different,” Damien gasped, stumbling back. His crimson eyes were wide with shock.
The shadows around him, swirling with his magic, flickered and faded. He was losing control.
“How… how did you get so strong?”
"You want to know my secret, Damien?" I circled him, my silver-white fur gleaming in the moonlight, my eyes blazing with power.
I could feel Lyra's strength flowing through me, her ancient knowledge guiding my every move.
"It's love, Damien. Something you'll never understand.”
He sneered, trying to hide his fear.
“Love is weakness,” he spat, his voice full of venom. “It will destroy you, just like it destroyed Lyra.”
“Lyra’s love was stronger than your darkness, Damien,” I countered, my voice a low rumble that shook the ground.
“And my love… my love for Rowan… it’s a power you can’t even imagine.”
I lunged again, a whirlwind of fangs and claws. He threw another bolt of dark energy, but I was too fast.
I dodged it easily, my movements guided by instinct and Lyra’s ancient knowledge.
“You fight like a wild animal, Catrina,” Damien snarled.
He struggled to keep up with me, his magic faltering, his defenses weakening.
“Uncontrolled! Unpredictable! Give in to the darkness, Catrina! Join me, and we can rule together!”
“I’ll never join you, Damien,” I roared. My voice echoed through the clearing.
“My love is my strength, not my weakness. And I will use it to destroy you.”
I slammed into him again, my shoulder hitting his chest, sending him crashing to the ground.
He gasped in pain, and I could smell his fear.
He scrambled to his feet, his crimson eyes blazing, but he was wounded, his magic sputtering.
The shadows that had been his strength were twisting and writhing, as if they sensed his weakness.
“You… you will pay for this, Catrina!” he hissed, his voice shaking with rage. “You and your precious Alpha! I will destroy everything you love!”
“You can’t touch them, Damien,” I snarled, my silver-white fur bristling. “I won’t let you. They are mine to protect.”
I could feel Rowan’s gaze on me. He was still trying to get up, his body battered, his fur stained with blood.
“Remember, Rowan. Remember who I am.”
My wolf howled, a desperate plea for him to understand, to recognize the ancient power that was now a part of me.
But I couldn’t think about him now. I had to focus on Damien.
The Bloodmoon wolves were starting to retreat, their red eyes flickering, but they were still dangerous. There were too many of them.
I had to end this. I had to defeat Damien. Break his hold over the pack. Only then would we be safe.
Only then could I go back to Rowan, to the love that had been stolen from us.
Damien snarled, his crimson eyes blazing with fury. He wasn't giving up.
He threw another blast of dark energy, a wave of pure malice that seemed to crackle in the air.
But I was ready. I dodged and weaved, my movements fluid and graceful, like a dancer moving to a primal beat.
He was powerful, this sorcerer. He’d lived for centuries, honing his magic, feeding on the darkness in the world.
But he’d made a mistake.
He’d underestimated me. He hadn’t expected the strength of my love for Rowan, a bond that defied time, that even death couldn’t break.
He stumbled, caught off guard by my speed and ferocity. My claws raked across his arm, leaving a deep gash.
The scent of his blood filled the air.
“You’re bleeding, Damien,” I taunted, my voice a deep growl that echoed through the clearing.
“You’re weak. Your magic is fading. You can’t win.”
“Foolish omega!” he roared, clutching his wounded arm.
“You think a scratch can stop me? I’ve faced down armies, toppled empires, conquered realms beyond your comprehension! You are nothing to me!”
"You’re wrong, Damien.” My wolf’s voice, a powerful rumble, merged with my own.
“You’re afraid. I can smell it on you. The fear of an ancient power, a love you can’t control.”
“You think your love can protect you, Catrina?” He laughed, a cold, cruel sound.
“Look around you! Your pack is shattered. Your mate is broken. And soon… you will be mine. Your power, your magic, your very soul… it will all be mine!”
"You’ll never have me, Damien," I snarled, my silver fur bristling, my amber eyes blazing with defiance.
"My love for Rowan is stronger than any magic you can conjure. You can’t break us. You can't control us."
“We’ll see about that, little omega,” he hissed, his eyes burning with hatred. “I’ll strip away your strength, your defiance, piece by piece. I'll make you beg for mercy, make you watch as your precious Alpha falls at my feet.”
He raised his hand, dark energy swirling around him, forming a ball of black fire.
“And then,” he said, his voice a whisper of pure malice, “I will take everything you hold dear. Your pack, your mate, your very existence… it will all be mine.”
“Never!” I roared, my fury uncontrollable.
I lunged at him, a whirlwind of silver and white, my love for Rowan, my need to protect him, fueling my every move.
Our wolves clashed, a whirlwind of primal energy that shook the forest.
I could feel the power surging through me, Lyra’s strength and my own, a potent mix that made me feel invincible.
I wouldn’t let him win. I wouldn’t let him take Rowan, or my pack, or the future we were fighting for.
We fought, teeth and claws against dark magic. The air crackled with energy. The clearing trembled.
The trees swayed. It was a battle of wills, a fight for survival, a dance of death and defiance.
But I could feel the power of my love for Rowan, the strength of our bond, flowing through me.
And I knew, with a certainty that burned inside me, that I would win.
I would defeat Damien. I would save Rowan.
And I would reclaim the destiny that was rightfully mine.
