                    Isabelle POV:
“I vow to always honor and protect...Catrina."
When Rowan said the wrong name at the altar, I felt like smoke was coming out of my ears. I glared at him so hard I practically burned holes in his clothes.
How could he embarrass me like that in front of everyone, by saying that other girl's name?
He tried to fix his mistake, but it was too late. Everyone started whispering and pointing, making me even madder.
Finally, the super long ceremony ended, but Rowan wouldn't even look at me. I was so mad I could have exploded!
Just then, Ezekiel's annoying voice cut through the air.
"Wow, Rowan, that was one crazy wedding!" he said, grinning from ear to ear.
This little guy had the nerve to act like this whole thing was funny!
"You couldn't just have a normal wedding, could you?" he teased.
"Saying another girl's name at the altar? That's some serious drama!"
I saw red. I spun around on Zeke, the little pest! I couldn't hold back what I wanted to say any longer.
I turned away and mumbled one last mean thing to him before walking away.
Everywhere I looked at the party, people were whispering and staring at me. It felt awful, like everyone was talking bad about me because of what Rowan did.
Finally, it was time for the special dance newly married couples do. Rowan looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there, probably with that other girl Catrina.
"Ready to dance?" I said through gritted teeth, really mad at him.
He grabbed me a little too hard and pulled me close to start the dance. For a few seconds, we were just stiff and quiet. Then, he mumbled something I could barely hear.
"I gotta be somewhere else soon."
I almost rolled my eyes. It was a super obvious excuse. Instead, I squeezed his hand back real tight, like a warning.
"Of course you do," I said in a mean voice. "Are you going to find that omega whore?"
Rowan froze completely. His body tensed up under my hand, and I could feel him getting mad.
"Don't you talk about her like that!" he growled quietly, but it still sounded scary.
I laughed out loud.
“So you think you're in charge now, huh?" I teased, leaning in close to his face.
"Is that what you've been thinking all along?"
Rowan didn't say anything back, he just glared at me like he was trying to melt me with his eyes. I leaned in super close, almost whispering in his ear.
"Listen up, mate," I said.
"You promised to follow my lead, remember? That's why we had this whole wedding thing. You can pretend to be the boss all you want, but I'm really in charge. Your little meltdowns and silly games will stop. This pack needs a smart, strong leader, not some out-of-control teenager acting like a dog in heat."
We stared at each other for a long moment. Then, the music got loud and fast for the ending of the dance.
But Rowan didn't care.
He just let go of me and walked away in a huff, not even looking back.
I watched Rowan storm off, my chest burning with anger. How could he just walk away like that? He was supposed to be my husband now, and he needed to treat me with respect!
Suddenly, I heard Carson's voice. "Move aside, you loser!" he yelled.
I spun around, fangs bared, completely furious. Carson jumped back, scared by my anger.
"A-Alpha!" he stammered, his eyes wide.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry about...what happened with Rowan."
I sneered at him. He was such a coward. He wouldn't understand how much Rowan had insulted me.
"Don't waste my time with your fake apologies, Carson," I snapped.
"Do your job as my second in command. Find out everything you can about this omega whore who's messing with Rowan's head. I want to know everything about her, down to the smallest detail!"
Carson looked surprised by the anger in my voice. But he knew better than to question a direct order from his Alpha.
"At once, my lady," he murmured with a nod. "Consider it done."
As he hurried off to do what I commanded, I let a cruel smile cross my painted lips.
Foolish Rowan didn't realize it yet, but he had sealed this omega's fate the moment he stupidly said her name out loud.
Once I had everything I needed to control that insignificant woman, her hold over my mate and my pack would be completely gone.
No matter how many throats I had to crush to make that happen.
I spun around and stomped down the fancy hallway, feeling more determined than ever. There was one more thing I had to deal with before I could really focus on figuring out Rowan's dumb mistake.
A giant oak door blocked my way, but I didn't even knock. I just threw it open. A cloud of smelly smoke billowed out, making my eyes water.
"Ezekiel,"
I said in a cold voice, staring right at the rude boy sprawled by the fireplace.
"We need to finish what we started."
This little jerk didn't even act surprised to see me. He just took another puff from his cigarette and blew out a cloud of smoke with a smirky grin.
"Well, well, isn't it the grumpy bride? Looking mad as always," he said in an annoying voice.
“Why am I so lucky to have you visit right now, Princess?"
I almost wrinkled my nose in disgust at how disrespectful he was being. But I knew I'd make him regret it soon enough.
"Listen up, you rude omega," I said, trying to sound calm even though I was furious.
"I'm taking away all your official pack job, starting now."
Ezekiel's smug face finally showed some surprise.
"Hold on a second. Did you just say—"
"I said it clear as day," I interrupted, my voice icy cold.
"We don't need you following us around with your cameras anymore. Pack your things and get off my land by the end of the week. If you're not gone, we'll throw you out."
The skinny guy blinked at me, speechless for a moment.
Then, he burst out laughing, a harsh bark-like sound. The jerk even shook his head at me like I was crazy!
"Wow," he said with a mean grin.
"Everyone thinks I'm overdramatic, but look at you! Can't even handle a little joke, princess?"
That was it! I couldn't control myself anymore. It felt like my wolf woke up inside me.
"You're going to learn manners, you jerk!" I growled. I liked seeing a scared look replace his mocking one for a change.
"If you don't learn them yourself, I'll cut out that nasty tongue of yours and be done with it."
Before Ezekiel could even blink, I had him by the throat. My claws sank in just enough to draw a little blood.
Ezekiel choked for air, trying his best to break free.
"Get off my land by Friday night, sunset," I hissed at him.
"And if I ever see you hanging around my husband again, you'll be begging for mercy you won't get."
I let go of him suddenly. The little jerk fell to the floor, gasping for air. I didn't even look back.
I turned and walked out of the room, feeling powerful and in control.
Just as I closed the door, I thought I heard Ezekiel's voice, all raspy, trying to sound scared like I told him to.
"Yes, alpha...of course."
