                    Henri POV:
"Tell me what you saw! Where did they take her?"
I gripped the Bloodmoon wolf’s shoulders, my voice harsh, my amber eyes blazing with a father's fury.
He cowered before me, whimpering, his black fur matted with blood and dirt. His scent – pine mixed with a strange, sickening sweetness – made my wolf snarl.
A primal fear echoed in my own heart.
“He’s broken, Henri.” My wolf’s voice was a low, mournful rumble. “Damien’s magic… it’s twisted him. Shattered his mind.”
We’d found him hiding in the woods, drawn by his whimpers of pain and fear.
He was the only survivor of the fight at the Bloodmoon den, a lone wolf trapped in a web of darkness.
“Please… make it stop,” he begged, his voice a broken whisper.
His red eyes, once wild and full of life, were now dull and empty.
It was like his soul had been stolen, his mind shattered.
“The voices… the shadows… they’re… everywhere…”
“Tell us where they took Catrina, wolf!” I snarled, shaking him. My patience was gone.
The need to find my daughter, my Catrina, burned inside me.
I could barely feel sympathy for this broken creature, even though I knew what it was like to face Damien’s darkness.
“Where is she?”
He whimpered, his body trembling, his scent a mix of terror and a faint trace of lavender and vanilla.
Catrina’s scent.
It was a bittersweet reminder of the daughter I’d lost.
“The… the Master…” he mumbled, his eyes darting around the forest.
He was trying to escape the shadows that haunted him, the voices that whispered in his mind, the memories that Damien had twisted.
“He… he took her… to the… place… of shadows… the…”
His words trailed off, his eyes rolling back in his head, his body convulsing.
A seizure wracked his massive frame, a testament to Damien’s magic.
Even in defeat, Damien’s magic lingered, a poison that seeped into the souls of those he’d touched.
"Easy, boy, easy,” Maggie murmured, her voice a soft caress.
Her lavender scent, calming and familiar, filled the air.
She put a hand on his back, her touch gentle but firm.
“Let it pass. The pain will fade. You’re safe now. We’re here to help.”
He whimpered again, his body slowly relaxing, his breathing slowing. But his red eyes were still vacant, empty.
“He has pups, Henri. He has a mate.” My wolf growled, his voice full of empathy.
He recognized the pain, the loss, the fear, in this broken wolf. He was like us, a werewolf, caught in a web of darkness.
“It’s okay, Bloodmoon,” Maggie said, her voice a gentle whisper.
“We’re not going to hurt you. We just want to… understand. To help. Can you tell us… what happened? What did you see?”
He blinked, his gaze focusing on Maggie, a flicker of awareness in his red eyes.
It was a brief moment of sanity, a break from the darkness that clouded his mind.
“The… Master,” he mumbled, his voice a broken whisper.
“He’s… he’s different now. Stronger. Darker. He’s not… the same.”
“Different? How is he different?” I pressed, my voice a low growl. A father’s fear, a protector’s urgency, made me need answers.
“He… he doesn’t need us anymore,” the Bloodmoon wolf whimpered, his eyes darting around, searching for the shadows that haunted him.
“He has… a new… a new… vessel. A new… power. He’s… he’s…”
His words trailed off, his eyes losing focus again, the darkness returning.
“Damien’s magic is still holding him, Henri.”
My wolf growled, his voice urgent. We have to break it. We have to free him.
“What is it, Bloodmoon?” Maggie asked softly.
“What did you see? What did Damien do?”
He whimpered, his body trembling, his scent a mix of fear and a longing for peace, for release.
“He… he’s going to… to… merge… with her,” he whispered.
His voice was a broken plea, a terrifying revelation that made my blood run cold.
“He’s going to… take her power… her magic… her soul…”
His words painted a horrifying picture in my mind.
Damien’s plan was far more sinister than we’d imagined.
He wasn’t just after revenge. He was after something much bigger, something that could destroy us all.
“Merge?” Maggie echoed, her hand gripping my arm, her lavender scent sharp with fear.
“Who? Merge with who?”
“With… the omega,” the Bloodmoon wolf whimpered, his gaze fixed on me, his eyes vacant and empty.
“With… your… daughter.”
“He’s going to… use her… to… to become… a god.”
His words were a devastating blow, a confirmation of my worst fears. My daughter, my Catrina, was in unimaginable danger.
“He’s right, Henri.” My wolf howled, his voice a mournful echo of my shattered heart.
“We were fools. We thought we could escape destiny. But destiny always finds a way.”
“We have to find Rowan, Maggie,” I said, my voice a broken whisper.
The weight of this knowledge, this terrifying prophecy, was crushing.
“He needs to know. He has to… he has to help us stop this.” My hands were shaking, my heart pounding against my ribs.
“But how, Henri?” Maggie’s voice was full of fear.
“He’s… he’s just a boy. And Damien… he’s a monster. How can Rowan possibly stop him?”
“I don’t know, Maggie.” I ran a hand through my hair, trying to think, to find a solution.
“But he’s the Alpha. And… and he’s Catrina’s mate. Vivian said… she said their love, their bond, it’s… powerful. Maybe… maybe it’s the key.”
“But Rowan… he doesn’t remember, Henri. He doesn’t remember their love.”
Maggie’s voice was a heartbroken whisper.
“We have to remind him, Maggie,”
I said, my voice gaining strength, a father’s determination, a wolf’s need to protect his pup, pushing back the fear.
“We have to tell him everything. About the prophecy, about Damien, about… about Catrina, about their life together, about their son… about everything.”
“You think… you think he’ll believe us, Henri?” Maggie asked, her voice doubtful.
“He’s changed. He’s not the same boy who… who fell in love with Catrina. He’s colder now, more distant. He’s…”
“He’s still her mate, Maggie,” I said, cutting her off, my voice firm, a certainty settling in my gut.
“The bond is still there, even if he doesn’t remember. And deep down… I know Rowan still loves her. He has to. It’s their destiny.”
“We have to warn him, Henri,”
Maggie said, her voice stronger now. “Before it’s too late.”
“We have to tell him… everything.”
I looked at her, her eyes mirroring my own fear, but also my love, my hope.
We had to find Rowan. We had to fight alongside him, to face the darkness together.
The fate of our daughter depended on it.
“We have to hurry, Maggie,” I said, a new urgency gripping me.
“Every second counts. We have to find him… before Damien does.”
