Rowan POV:
I was so confused as I looked around the dimly lit room. The air smelled old, like dusty books and faded memories. My heart was beating fast with uncertainty.
"Where am I?" I whispered.
Suddenly, I saw movement in the corner. It was my dad, Marcus Magnus, the Alpha of our pack. He was sitting in a worn armchair.
"Welcome home, my son," he said in a fake-friendly voice. "I've been expecting you."
I felt panic and anger rushing through me.
"Dad, what's going on?" I growled, my hair standing up on the back of my neck.
Dad leaned back, smirking. "This is your home, Rowan. The place where you grew up to be the rightful Alpha of the Magnus pack."
I frowned, confused. "No, this isn't my home anymore. Not after what you've done."
He chuckled. "But it is, my son. It's time for you to take your place at my side."
I shivered. "No way. I want nothing to do with your pack or your plans. Not after what you did to Catrina and her family."
Dad's face darkened. "That omega girl you've chosen as your mate? She's just a common breeder. You're throwing away your birthright for her."
I snarled, my wolf instincts taking over. "Don't talk about Catrina like that! She's worth more than all your precious pure-blood she-wolves. I won't abandon her or our baby!"
Dad's eyes narrowed, a dangerous look in them. "Then I have no choice. If you won't be the Alpha, I'll have to get rid of you and your little pack."
My stomach twisted. "You can't be serious! You'd kill your own son to keep your power?"
He let out a creepy laugh. "There's nothing I won't do to keep the Magnus pack strong and pure. Even if it means sacrificing my own flesh and blood."
I backed up, my mind racing. "This has to be a trick, some kind of illusion-"
"No, Rowan, this is the truth," Dad interrupted, his voice dripping with malice. "It's time to face it and accept your destiny as the Alpha."
I felt so conflicted. I wanted to believe this wasn't real, but deep down I knew my dad was a monster who would do anything to stay in power.
"I won't do it," I growled. "I won't be like you. I won't let you destroy my pack and my family."
Dad's expression darkened. "Then I'll have to get rid of you and anyone else who stands in my way."
Suddenly, I saw movement in the shadows. It was my mom. She looked so broken and defeated, the light in her eyes gone.
"Rowan," she said in a hollow voice, "you have to stop him, before he destroys us all."
My throat tightened like a knot, and my heart cracked in two seeing Mom so broken.
"I...I don't even know how," I whimpered, voice thick with sadness.
Mom reached out, her hand shaking so bad it barely brushed my cheek.
"You have to find the strength, sweetie," she croaked, her voice barely a whisper.
"You gotta be the leader the pack needs, the one to stop Marcus' evil plans."
Tears welled up in my eyes, and the fight in me started to flicker.
"I don't know if I can do it," I admitted, doubt creeping in.
Mom's face hardened for a second, and I saw a glimpse of the strong, brave woman she used to be. "Then you gotta find it, Rowan. For the pack, for your family...and for me."
Her words hit me like a punch, sparking a tiny flame of determination that had been buried under all my fear and doubt.
No way was I gonna give in to Dad's twisted demands, no matter what. I had to be brave, stand up to him, protect my pack, my family, and the omega who'd captured my heart.
Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I stared straight at Dad, my eyes locked on his.
"I'll never be Alpha of your pack, Dad," I said, my voice low but strong. "I'll never follow your cruelty and power-hungry ways. This ends now."
Dad sneered, his eyes filled with hate.
"Fine, Rowan," he growled. "If you won't take your rightful place, then you and your precious family will pay."
Before I could even blink, a deafening roar filled the room and this giant white wolf I'd seen before stood in front of me. It felt so old and powerful, like a force of nature.
"Enough of this!" the wolf boomed, its voice echoing with authority from another world.
"Rowan Magnus, you've passed the first of the trials that will decide for you."
A shiver ran down my spine, then I remembered what it was about.
"Tha- that illusion was a trial?" I asked, my voice shaky but steady.
The wolf stared at me, its gaze like it could see right through me.
"Yes, it was one of the trials to test your beliefs, and how strong you’re to become an alpha."
I squared my shoulders, my determination growing stronger.
"I'm ready for the next trial" I declared, my voice firm.
"I'll face any challenge you throw at me, not even my father, my mother, or anyone in the pack can even weaken my strength."
The wolf's mouth seemed to almost smile.
"So be it, young alpha," it rumbled, its words final. "Your next trial awaits."
With a flick of its tail, the giant wolf turned and walked towards another fancy door, symbols glowing on it like something out of a movie.
I took a deep breath and followed, each step filling me with more purpose and determination.
The giant wolf led me through a glowing door. I had no idea what was on the other side.
Stepping through, I found myself in a strange new world.
Lush green forests surrounded a clearing with several big stone buildings. A tall, powerful-looking man with long silver hair walked up to me.
"I am Korvash, leader of the Drakhor Clan and the Alpha King"
