Rowan's POV:
I sighed in frustration as I walked out of the locker room.
My plan to spy on the Bloodmoon pack guys had totally failed. Even with my wolf hearing, I couldn’t pick up anything useful about the Drakhor clan or their connection to our rivals.
“Hey, Rowan! Coming to the frat party tonight?” one of my teammates, Brad, shouted as I stepped outside.
I put on a carefree grin, pretending to be a normal college student.
“Wouldn’t miss it! Gotta have some fun, right?”
Brad laughed and clapped me on the back.
“That’s what I’m talking about! This party’s gonna be epic! You’ll love it.”
I nodded, trying to act excited, even though my mind was on my mission. “Can’t wait! I’m in.”
As Brad ran off to join the rest of the team, my smile faded.
This party… it could be my chance to get closer to those Bloodmoon guys and find out what they’re hiding.
I headed back to my dorm, planning my strategy.
If I could blend in and watch them without being noticed, maybe I could finally get the answers the Drakhor were looking for.
That night, I stood outside the big, loud frat house.
Music and laughter poured out the doors. Taking a deep breath, I pushed through the crowd, my senses alert.
“Be careful, Rowan,” I told myself. “These guys are dangerous. But you have to do this for your pack.”
It didn’t take long to find the Bloodmoon pack guys. They were easy to spot, even though they were trying to look human.
They were huddled in a corner, talking quietly and sipping from red cups.
I grabbed a drink and casually walked over, trying to act natural.
“Hey, guys. Mind if I join you?”
One of them, a tall, broad-shouldered guy with intense blue eyes, looked at me suspiciously.
“Who are you?”
I smiled, trying to seem confident and friendly.
“Rowan Magnus. Just looking for a good time.”
He didn’t change his expression, but after a second, he nodded and motioned for me to join them.
“Alright, Magnus. Grab a seat.”
I sat down, my eyes scanning the group as I took a sip of my beer.
They were all looking at me with curiosity and distrust, and I knew I had to be careful.
“So, what’s the deal with this place?” I asked casually. “Seems pretty wild.”
One of the girls, a small brunette, snorted. “You have no idea. This frat is full of our kind.”
I raised an eyebrow, pretending I didn’t know what she meant. “Your kind?”
She leaned in, her eyes mischievous. “Werewolves, silly! Didn’t you know this place is like a werewolf hangout?”
I chuckled, shaking my head. “Nope, had no idea. Guess I’ve been missing out.”
The blue-eyed guy, who seemed to be the leader, gave me a skeptical look.
“You seem pretty chill about this, Magnus. You got something against werewolves?”
I held up my hands, trying to look sincere. “Not at all. Just trying to fit in, learn about your… culture.”
The brunette giggled and bumped my shoulder playfully.
“Well, you’re in the right place. This frat is crawling with werewolves.”
I nodded, trying to keep my face neutral. So, it’s true.
The Bloodmoon pack is using this college as their base. It was the perfect chance to get information for the Drakhor.
“Sounds interesting,” I said, taking another sip of my beer.
“I’d love to hear more, if you don’t mind.”
The blue-eyed guy studied me, his eyes narrowed.
“You’re not from around here, are you, Magnus?”
I shrugged, pretending to be carefree.
“Nah, I just transferred. Trying to find my way around.”
He nodded slowly, his face hard to read. “Hmm, I see. Well, in that case, welcome to the pack.”
I felt a rush of victory, but I kept it hidden and gave him a grateful smile. “Thanks, man. I appreciate it.”
As they kept talking, I listened closely, my mind racing.
The Bloodmoon pack had a lot of guys here, using the college as their base.
And from the way they were talking, they were fighting with the Magnus pack—the very pack I was trying to save.
I had to be careful. One wrong move, and they would know I was lying.
And that would mess everything up, especially my mission for the Drakhor.
So I played my part, pretending to be a relaxed, curious college guy.
I laughed and joked with them while they bragged about their pack.
As the night went on, the party got wilder. Music pounded, and people were drinking a lot.
I could feel my wolf getting restless, wanting to shift and show everyone who was boss. But I had to stay in control.
Control yourself, Rowan, I thought. This isn’t the time or place.
Suddenly, as I started to move away from the group, the blue-eyed Bloodmoon guy grabbed my arm, his grip like iron.
“Where do you think you’re going, Magnus?” he growled.
I panicked for a second, my wolf wanting to break free.
But I forced myself to stay calm and act cool.
“Just… getting some air,” I said casually.
“This place is getting a little crazy, you know?”
His eyes narrowed, and I could see the suspicion on his face.
“Yeah, well, you better not be going anywhere. We’re watching you, Magnus.”
I nodded, swallowing hard. “Sure, no problem. I’ll just… hang out here for a bit.”
He stared at me for a long time, then let go of my arm, a scary smile spreading across his face.
“That’s what I thought. Now come on, let’s party.”
As the hours passed, I got more and more restless. My wolf paced inside me, wanting to get out.
But I knew I couldn’t. Not yet.
When the last of the Bloodmoon guys started to leave, I made my move, weaving through the crowd towards the door.
I had to find a way to contact the Drakhor and tell them what I’d learned.
But as I was about to slip out, a hand grabbed my shoulder, stopping me.
I spun around and found myself face-to-face with the blue-eyed guy, his face cold and hard.
“Drop the act, Magnus,” he growled, his voice low and threatening.
“We know who you really are.”
My heart sank, and I quickly tried to think of what to say.
“I…I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I stammered, kicking myself for sounding so nervous.
He laughed, his grip tightening on my shoulder.
“Don’t play dumb, Rowan. We’ve been watching you since you got here.”
I swallowed hard, my wolf screaming to fight and run.
But I couldn’t risk blowing my cover, not with so much at stake.
Think, Rowan, think! My mind raced, trying to find a way out.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I said, forcing a confident smile.
“I’m just a regular college guy, trying to have a good time.”
He narrowed his eyes.
“Yeah, right. We know you’re one of the Magnuses, from that weak pack. And we know you’re up to something.”
Panic surged through me, but I pushed it down and kept pretending.
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m just here to party, like everyone else.”
He chuckled, his voice low and scary.
“Partying, huh? Well, your fun’s over, Magnus. We don’t like outsiders messing around in our business.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. I tried to keep my face calm.
“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m just a regular guy, I swear.”
He leaned in close, his breath hot on my face.
“Save it, Magnus. We know who you are and what you want. And let me tell you, we’re not gonna let some wannabe Alpha mess up our plans.”
My wolf was going crazy, wanting to tear this guy apart.
But I held it back, my mind racing for a way out of this situation.
“Look, I don’t want any trouble,” I said, keeping my voice steady.
“I’m just here to have fun. I promise I’m not after anything.”
He squeezed my shoulder harder, and I winced.
“Oh, we know you’re after something, Magnus. And we’re not gonna let you get in our way.”
I tried to say something, but a commotion started near the entrance, distracting the guy.
This was my chance! I pulled away from him and ran for the door.
I had to get out of there, had to warn the Drakhor about the Bloodmoon pack.
As I burst into the cool night air, adrenaline surged through me.
I had to move fast, find a safe place to think.
But as I was about to run, a voice called out, stopping me in my tracks.
“Going somewhere, Magnus?”
I turned around and found myself facing the entire Bloodmoon pack.
Their eyes were glowing with a creepy light.
“We told you we’re not gonna let you ruin our plans,” the blue-eyed guy growled, showing his fangs.
Panic welled up inside me, but I pushed it down, my wolf instincts taking over.
“I don’t want any trouble,” I said, my voice low.
“Just let me go, and we’ll forget this ever happened.”
He laughed, his eyes narrowing.
“Oh, it’s too late for that, Magnus. We can’t have you running back to your weak pack and telling everyone our secrets.”
