                    Catrina's POV:
My stomach twisted as I stared into my tea, the steam curling up like wisps of smoke from a dying fire.
After finding out I might be related to Rowan... it was just one more thing piled on top of all the worry and fear that already felt like a giant rock in my gut.
Next to me, Isabelle watched me with kind eyes.
It was still weird to see her being so nice. Just a few weeks ago, she would’ve been thrilled that I was miserable.
“I know this is hard, Catrina,” she said gently after listening to me a twentieth time.
“But don’t let it break you.”
I sighed, holding my warm mug.
“It’s… a lot to handle, you know? My whole life, I thought I was just a rogue omega, running from the Magnus pack. Now I find out I might be related to them, to Rowan… It’s crazy.”
She squeezed my hand. “I get it. It’s a lot to take in, especially with everything else going on.”
I nodded, biting my lip to stop myself from crying. “Also what if Rowan can’t break the curse? What if our families’ history keeps us apart forever?”
Isabelle’s expression softened, and she squeezed my hand again. “Hey, don’t talk like that. Rowan’s strong, and he has the Drakor helping him. He’s going to find a way, I know it.”
I wished I could be as sure as she was, but doubt and fear kept creeping back in.
“But what if it’s not enough?”I said “What if our past, our own blood, is too strong to fight?”
Isabelle leaned closer, her voice low and serious. “Catrina, listen. Just because you and Rowan might be related, it doesn’t change anything important. You’re still mates. That bond can’t be broken.”
I shook my head, tears finally spilling down my cheeks. “But what if that’s not enough?”
Isabelle’s grip tightened, and her eyes were full of determination.
“It will be enough. Because you two have something stronger than any curse or any old fight between your families. You have love.”
I let out a shaky laugh, my vision blurred by tears.
“Love? Isabelle, look at us! Look at everything we’re dealing with! How can love be enough?”
Isabelle wiped the tears from my cheeks.
“Because real love, true mate love, is the most powerful thing there is. It can beat even the darkest curse. Rowan loves you, and you love him. That’s how you’re going to break this, I just know it.”
Her words sunk in, and a tiny spark of hope flickered inside me.
As scared as I was, a part of me believed she was right.
Rowan and I, we had something special, something that our families’ past couldn’t destroy.
“You really think so?” I whispered, my voice trembling.
She nodded, a small smile on her lips.
“I do, Catrina. And I know Rowan does, too. That’s why he’s fighting so hard, why he’s risking everything to break this curse.”
I took a shaky breath, feeling a little lighter.
“You’re right. Rowan… he’s doing all this for us, for our family. I can’t doubt him, doubt us, after everything he’s done.”
Isabelle’s smile widened.
“That’s the spirit. Now, finish your tea, and let’s start figuring out how we can help Rowan when he comes back.”
I smiled, feeling a little bit of hope for the first time in days.
“Okay, let’s do it. I’m ready to fight for our family, Isabelle.”
After Isabelle efforts to send the Mondragon warriors, she realized that they couldn’t deepen in the forest around the northern mountain without a warlock with them.
We started looking at old books and maps, trying to come up with a new plan to help Rowan.
No matter what challenges we faced, no matter what secrets from our past tried to pull us apart, I knew Rowan and I would face them together.
“Our connection is stronger than any curse.”
I thought. “We’re mates, we’re destined. We’ll find a way.”
The love we shared, the bond that connected us, it was stronger than anything. And with Isabelle and the Mondragon pack on our side, I knew we had a chance.
“Don’t worry, Rowan,” I whispered, my hand resting on my belly, feeling our baby kick gently.
“We’re coming for you. Just hang on. We’ll be there soon.”
As the sun set, painting the sky with warm colors, I felt a glimmer of hope in my heart.
Rowan was out there, fighting his own battles, facing his own fears.
But he wasn’t alone anymore. We were a team now.
We're in this together. I reminded myself.
Bound by a love that can break any curse.
We’ll find a way to be free, to build a future where our family can thrive, without the shadows of the past holding us back.
“Alright, Isabelle,” I said, my voice strong. “Let’s do this. Let’s bring my mate home.”
Her eyes shone with determination, and she nodded. “That’s what I like to hear, Catrina. Let’s get started.”
We dug into the plans, figuring out how we could help Rowan from afar, how to give him the strength and support he needed to fight the darkness in the Magnus pack.
It was a huge job, but I felt my determination growing stronger.
Rowan was counting on us, counting on me. I wouldn’t let him down, not with so much at stake.
As the hours passed, Isabelle and I worked hard, brainstorming ideas and backup plans.
And with every passing hour, I felt my sense of purpose getting stronger.
No matter what challenges came our way, no matter what secrets from the past tried to tear us apart, I knew we would face them together.
We were united by our love, our bond, our family.
With that thought in my mind, I threw myself into our plans, my determination burning bright.
Rowan was coming home, no matter what.
