Lui's POV
"Why were you the one chosen to pick me up?" I complained, then sighed heavily.
"What's surprising is that you are complaining now that we have passed the pack's border, when all this time you had your mouth shut," Alec answered coldly as I glared at him and then shifted my gaze to the side.
Did he realize that he was still talking to an Alpha? I didn't care if he was my father's Beta or not; he needed to show me some respect.
"It looks like everyone is waiting outside to welcome you," he said softly.
I looked ahead and noticed a lot of warriors and pack members there. In front of them were my father, mother, sister, Maggie, and Tamara.
I swallowed hard and my heart picked up at how good Tamara looked.
She no longer looked as I remembered; she was very much grown and beautiful. No, she was sexy and very attractive. Her hair was longer than it was back then, and her figure was like a fine wine bottle pouring curves. Her breasts were larger, and her eyes sexier.
When the car parked, I quickly rushed out and went running towards them.
"Son," my mother said proudly as she extended her arms.
I wanted to run to her first, but I just couldn't help myself as I pulled Tamara into my embrace, shocking everyone.
I deeply inhaled her scent as my wolf purred in approval.
She wasn't our mate, as we knew, but we had been in love with her for the past years, and seeing her in front of us was like a dream.
At the camp, when they took away my right to write letters, I tried a few times to find another way and go against the guardians and trainers of the camp. Sadly, that ended up badly for me.
I wanted to complete my training without making a bad name for myself. I needed to do what was right, that's why I gave up writing back to her even if it was painful.
My happiness was in reading her letters and knowing that she was okay.
I pulled back and smiled at her. She was taller than I remembered, luckily not above me. She reached my shoulders, and I found that to be cute.
She was gazing back at me with widened eyes.
"What, are you that shocked to see me?" I asked loudly.
"Yes, we all are," my mother responded, getting my attention.
"Mother," I whispered, then quickly went to hug her tightly as she laughed loudly.
"I missed you a lot," I said softly and then pulled back as tears filled her eyes.
"Look at my boy, all grown up," she said when she moved her hand to my cheek.
"What's with the long hair?" My sister asked in a cracked voice.
I turned and looked at her with tears filled in my eyes.
She wiped off the tear that rolled on her cheek and rushed into my arms.
We were twins who did most of the things together. If we were both born Alphas, we would have gone to train together, but no, she had to remain because she was an omega.
Never was there a day that I didn't miss her and wish her well. Now seeing her made me so emotional.
She was a little shorter than Tamara, and her hair was longer, but she still looked like she did when I was around. The only difference was that she was much cuter than before.
"I never wanted to cut my hair that short because it was like a part of who I am. With time, I got used to it, and now I'm proudly growing it out," I answered when I pulled back and looked at her.
"Although it looks nice, don't you think it's a little too much?" She asked, then sniffed.
"Sis, it just touches my shoulder," I answered simply.
"No, it doesn't. Right now, you are saying that it touches your shoulders when you have tied it in a ponytail. Pull out the band and let me see," she said as I slightly pushed her back with my finger.
"Stay put, little one," I mocked as she frowned deeply.
Although we were twins, I was the first one to be born so technically I was the oldest.
I looked at my father and slowly moved closer, hugging him without a word. There was nothing to be said between us because I saw everything he had to say in his eyes. He was happy that I was back home and damn proud of the report he had received from the camp.
I pulled back and looked at Maggie with a smile.
"Look at you, all grown and very handsome," she said softly.
I moved closer and kissed her forehead lightly.
"I missed you too, Maggie," I said and then looked at everyone with a smile as they all gave a bow to show me respect.
"Where is uncle Xiao and aunt Mika?" I asked seriously as I looked around.
"They went into town with Olivia and the girls; they will be back soon," Yuki answered.
"Oh, okay, um... if you don't mind, can we all go in because I feel so exhausted," I said.
"Of course," mother answered as the warriors and pack members began to go back to their respective places.
"Where is your luggage?" Yuki asked.
"Here," Alec answered while he walked past us with my suitcase.
"Did you bring me any souvenirs?" Yuki asked, making me chuckle.
"I went for training, not shopping," I answered and then looked at Tamara, who still had a surprised expression on her face.
"What?" I asked softly.
"Nothing," she answered and then cleared her throat.
"Here," I said as I extended my hand to her.
She looked at it for a second, then at me seriously.
"I want someone to give me a tour around; it's been ages since I was here," I pointed out.
Before she could respond, Yuki took my hand, making me roll my eyes in disapproval.
"I will be the one to take you around, brother," she announced happily.
"Fine, then let me change my clothes," I answered, then pulled back my hand and walked past her.
"But you wanted to go just like that with Tamara!" She exclaimed.
I ignored her and went into the pack house.
Why did she have to get in my way? There were a lot of things I wanted to catch up with Tamara, but above all, I wanted to relay my feelings to her. I had no idea what she thought of me; that's why I wanted to find out soon.
