Kyle's POV
"What?" I asked Larson, who was glaring at me.
"I asked you for help, not a play day," he said loudly, annoyed at what we were about to do.
"Of course, I know, that's why we are here," I answered calmly.
"Seriously Kyle? Is this why you asked me to change into comfortable clothes?" He asked with a raised brow.
"Well, yes. Yoga and meditation are very good for your body and mental state, don't you know that?" I asked back with a smile.
He sighed heavily and then sat down on a mat.
We were in my bedroom because I wanted no one to disturb us. A few scented candles were lit, and two mats were spread on the floor for us to sit on.
There were a lot of things I thought of doing to help him relax, and among those things, the first best option that came to mind was yoga and meditation. I had no idea how to do it, so I had to watch a few videos online just to understand how it worked.
"Fine, now that I'm seated, what's next?" He asked lazily.
"Cross your legs and rest your hands on your thighs," I ordered.
He frowned and then did as I had ordered.
"Now close your eyes and take in a deep breath, then release it slowly. Do this about ten times," I said.
"It's getting boring," he whispered after he had closed his eyes.
"Don't talk, just do," I ordered seriously.
I moved and sat on the mat which was opposite his, relaxing my body and crossing my legs.
"I can tell that you have something that you want to tell me," he whispered softly.
"Me?" I asked loudly.
"Yes, you Kyle, you seem distracted for some reason. Those that don't know you can't notice, but I do," he answered.
"You see, I wanted us to leave the pack and visit Lui for a few days," I answered as he quickly opened his eyes.
"No," he said seriously.
"I didn't say I was going to do it. When I remembered that my father was going to leave the pack soon, I changed my mind," I answered as he sighed in relief.
"So Lui decided to come here instead," I said as his expression turned cold.
"Look, I know that you and Lui don't see eye to eye, but he is not a bad Alpha. If you give him a chance to become your friend, you will see for yourself," I said honestly.
"Kyle, I don't like him and I never will," he answered as I folded my arms.
"Why do you hate him so much?" I asked seriously.
"My instincts and my very heart are telling me to hate him," he answered, surprising me.
"Do you know that if Lui and I form an alliance one day, our pack will become invisible?" I asked him to understand how we needed to be on good terms with him.
"We are already invisible because Garren formed an alliance with our pack," he answered loudly.
"Look, I gave Lui permission to come over, so I can't undo it. I know it's too much to ask, but please bear with him," I said softly.
"I don't understand why he wants to visit you this soon," he whispered.
"I too have no idea, but I just hope it's for a very good reason," I lied.
"Just a simple reminder, I am your cousin and I need your help more than ever. Blood always comes first," he said as I laughed softly.
"Did you even hear yourself? You sounded like a jealous person," I said between laughter.
"Don't blame me, Kyle. Ever since Lui came into the picture, you always treated me as if I was invisible, and I hated that. To be honest, I still hate that," he answered.
I stood up and went to sit at the edge of the bed, looking at him seriously.
"Here you are blaming an innocent guy just because you don't like him. Have you forgotten why I treated you that way in the first place?" I asked coldly.
He sighed heavily and then shifted his gaze to the side, avoiding my eyes.
"When will Uncle Ian leave?" He asked me to change the subject.
"He was debating whether to leave tomorrow or next week," I answered.
"I think he will be leaving next week because he has to hand in the files and make sure you are on track with everything that's going on with the pack," he said.
I stood up and pointed a finger at him.
"Let's start the meditation and yoga all over again. This time no more talking about the past or the pack and do not think about things that may get you excited or make you feel sad. You need to find your inner peace no matter what," I said seriously and waited for him to do as I had instructed.
When he did, I smirked.
"I'll step out for just a few minutes so no cheating," I said as I walked to the door.
Once I was out, I went to my father's office and knocked a few times before walking in.
He sat behind his desk looking at the files that were in front of him.
"What brings you here?" He asked without looking at me.
"Dad, I wanted to let you know that Lui and his sister will be here for a visit, probably tomorrow," I answered.
He looked at me seriously and then smiled.
"Sure thing, did you ask the she-wolves to prepare their room?" he asked, surprising me.
I had expected him to ask me a lot of questions about why he was visiting our pack. So I felt confused that he wasn't asking.
"I didn't because I wanted to first let you know," I answered.
"Alright, that's good. Now go and tell them to prepare the rooms for them," he said.
"Okay," I answered with a frown and then turned and went to the door.
"Um... dad, why are you okay with Lui visiting our pack?" I asked before I could step out.
"Because he is your close friend and with time he will be your ally. His pack is known as the library of the world, so having him at arm's length is a very good idea. He will soon be the acting Alpha," he answered as I smirked.
Sometimes I felt like I was a copy of his because we thought the same. The only difference was that I really liked Lui and him being my best friend was genuine.
"I understand," I whispered, and then walked out of the office.
